To not feel very sorry for woman stuck in Turkey.

I was reading about a woman stuck in Turkey. She was there with her partner who was having teeth implants. So they got drunk and she fell against the glasss shower screen in the hotel. And it smashed. So they did a runner. Police chase. Got caught put in jail. Told they owed £15k or else. Sad face. Hmm. Though it does seem very steep for a shower screen.

@Soal yes she does deserve it. But actually I don’t think she is in jail. She just can’t leave Turkey (despite trying to, illegally). She is the very definition of a chav, and I hope she learns from this.

They sound delightful - not. I hope they pay up. If they can afford Turkey Teeth they can pay the required sum. I'm sure there's already a Go Fund Me, though.

Not to mention all of the lost income in not being able to sell that room to guests for however long it takes before the money is paid to fix it all.

Plus this whole escapade probably isn't the best PR for their business...

I saw the family talking about it on tiktok, they said they are having to look after her kid, it's the first time she's been abroad since becoming a mum and they got bit drunk and did a few bits of damage to the room, and then got scared and ran away, the said the mafia was chasing them and extorting money from them.

They painted a picture of a poor young mum not being able to handle a drink and accidently damaged a couple of things and ran away out of fear. I don't believe a word of it.

Smart lawyer. He’ll probably argue to get her fine reduced to £5k, and charge £10k for his time!

She’s in jail because of her own actions. Maybe if she stopped spunking money on fake teeth and lip filler and holidays, and focussed on working and taking care of her daughter, she wouldn’t be in this position. She got twatted and smashed up someone else’s property, then did a runner. No sympathy.

Well she's already spent half of it on hotels and living over there.

No sympathy here. None. Absolutely appalling behaviour. Her poor daughter. And to the poster who says it’s not funny, the poor woman’s in jail - I, for one, am not fucking laughing.

Surely, she has travel insurance which would cover her personal liability? This is ridiculous. I think let her stay in Turkey, we have enough idiots over here already!

I think it’s bonkers she had the money should of paid the fine a sucked it up/ appealed from the uk after. I’d assume fine would get bigger over time if the hotel owner is waiting on the money as the room will be out of commission so accruing damages at a rate of x per night.

I really wish in UK we could have a very active No Fly List - to absolutely refuse flights out of UK for people who have behaved like this. One incident - and you go on the list, that’s it.

Sorry, but have had a good number of depressing first hand experiences, been impacted myself and watched others adversely affected by Brits behaving shockingly like this and specifically in Turkey.

Been on an aircraft where the Captain has refused to take off with some Brits until they are offloaded, Brits threatening the aircraft will “go down”, Brits being physically removed from hotels, Turkish staff in high-end hotels looking on in astonishment at situations they say they have never seen before and so on and so on

£15,000 is still cheaper than it would have cost for implants in the UK!

I have full dentures (I have bad gums , its a family thing).
When I went for them I was shown a chart of "teeth" with the colours .
White was there of course but I said I don't want them, they look like Turkey teeth . She laughed and agreed.

No sympathy. It's people like this who give the British a horrible reputation abroad.

There are just so many legal wrongs and moral wrongs without even starting on the teeth and lips.
