To not feel very sorry for woman stuck in Turkey.

I was reading about a woman stuck in Turkey. She was there with her partner who was having teeth implants. So they got drunk and she fell against the glasss shower screen in the hotel. And it smashed. So they did a runner. Police chase. Got caught put in jail. Told they owed £15k or else. Sad face. Hmm. Though it does seem very steep for a shower screen.

Do you know why she didn’t spend the money and get home to her daughter as quickly as possible?

No tbh, and I do admit that the clarity surrounding the £15,000 the family raised and why it’s dwindled isn’t clear at all (one of her sister’s has just put a new statement on Facebook and it’s not really mentioned properly).
There’s no way her family would be in cahoots though to swindle money through a Go Fund Me, they’re not like a family from Shameless 🤷🏼‍♀️

So you don’t think custody is the place for people who break the law?

I totally agree in some instances, but perhaps not in this one…

I assume if the amount she has to pay is reduced the people gullible nice enough to have contributed to the ridiculous go fund me will get their money returned.

Why on earth are people even sending money for this?!, a pp has stated she admitted to causing damage. Surely the money owed and 1 day in jail is a consequence of her actions caused by drinking and taking drugs and behaving like an idiot. I'm all for giving for a good cause, but I can't see how someone's stupid behaviour is one of them

I saw one woman fundraising because her DH told her he would only have a 4th child if they took the 3 kids on a foreign holiday first and loads of people were donating so her dream of a 4th child could come true🙄

I agree some GFMs are cheeky, but people are free to ask for anything they want, as we are free to completely ignore them 🤷🏼‍♀️

Sorry, I phrased that badly. Of COURSE I want her brought home and given a proper funeral. It’s just that when a subject like this comes up, it’s always followed by hundreds of people coming on, mostly saying the same thing. That’s the reason I didn’t want it revived. I could see it going on and on, but nothing new being said. I apologise to anyone I offended with my comment.

I got the idea that the room was pretty much destroyed. Probably a lot more than 3K's worth.

I'm having a difficult time feeling sorry for her. At some point, you'd think common sense would weigh in, and you'd just pay the cost and stop trying to sneak out of the country. It's not helping her at all.

i know it's fashionable to laugh at so-called "chavs" and, although it was loutish and stupid behaviour, I do feel sorry for them.

15k is an awful lot of money. I can't imagine how that much damage was caused.

The MEN have pictures, the room is completely trashed, tv smashed, window put through, shower smashed. Drink up the walls and on the ceiling.

Yeah she’s also deactivated her Facebook account, she was on earlier today before that story broke 😬

She also refers to the £15j as a fine she hopes will be lowered

it looks like the £15k is just the tip of the iceberg of the room was also out of action for a month

That’s terrible. She didn’t mention the smashed window and TV and food on walls and ceiling.

Good point by the hotel that they lost earnings for 1 month from that room whilst renovating it.

Sounds as if it was a quality hotel, not your average Travelodge. That must have added to the cost of the teeth.

What's so sad is that her family obviously found £15k and are possibly paying loans/credit cards for it or heaven forbid loan sharks. And yet she's chosen not to spend it on what she needed it for. They must be absolutely furious with her.

And now the hotel have released that information she's not going to get far with the GFM. And the Daily Mail have run the same story.

Whats a high price? She was in jail then bailed to a hotel. Boo hoo...She caused a business 15k in damages and lost revenue. "Oh but she regret's it" that's ok then? No it's not! She could of payed and got home but no she wanted to argue the cost ( blaiming the solicitor for that advice, but in the end she makes the decision) and so now has even more costs while staying there ( her choice).
No mention of jobs, boyfriend could leave but is living it up , ohh I mean supporting her there. Surly he should be working to help fund her return? Let me guess? No jobs but flying off to Turkey for veneers, wish I could afford them but I work for a living.

I'm not sure insurance would pay up anyway
