Inspired by a comment on another thread, and in an attempt to give relief from the weighty matters of the world, futile though it might be, here is my cat and her two week old kittens. A proud and devoted Mum indeed.

I had my Dad's funeral last week, and my MIL was cremated earlier today, and these little scraps are literally keeping me sane.

So if you have furry friends who keep you going, please share them here ❤️‍🔥

it means we only have a litter once a year at most - we are registered with the gccf and follow all their standards. the kittens are bred for their quality and temperament and considered very carefully between the mum and dad. We have had 3 litters and all the kittens have gone to people we know or who are connected to us and it’s amazing getting updates as to how they are doing 😀 our cats will be our pets first and always I hate how some breeders sell on ‘retired’ cats - our girls are our girls for life 😂 even though they have their failings out they love each other really. We have a rescue tabby as well from our cat fostering days and she loves being an auntie to the kittens! Our house is a definite cat house! 😀

Although my rescue tabby heaved a huge sigh of relief when her last kitten left for his new home! I was fostering both of them, hadn’t realised at this point that Kitty was staying, and this is the look she gave me when I came back from waving goodbye to him & his new owner.

We hobby bred Burmese and Tonkinese for years and despite people thinking it’s a money making hobby, I’m sure you will agree the expenses far outweigh the income. You spend almost the same to bring off a litter of 1 as you do for 10.

I think there are possibly some people making a little money from breeding cats but most breeders do it for love.

Puppy farms are a whole different thing.

Does anyone remember the thread posted by a guy terrorized by his neighbour's cat? Anytime he walked out the door cat would go bananas. I think cat owner said it was due to his glasses? Anyway, I first read it a couple years ago and it was already an old thread. I pissed myself laughing every time I read it. Worth a read if you can find it.

They are wee darlings OP! I would love an all black cat as my next one, there’s just something about them. But my current puss is a 20 year old torbico and she’s still very feisty so I don’t think she’s going anywhere in a hurry 😂

So so sorry you’ve been through such a tough time recently. I lost my dog in RTA in March we couldn’t be without a dog so we got a little Jack Russell puppy called Moo she is keeping me going she’s my reason for getting up. I miss my older dog Luna so much.

Am sorry for your bereavements OP. Cats are amazing, it’s great that they’re giving you comfort.

Last year was pants. I lost my mum very quickly earlier in the year after a shock diagnosis. And then had my amazing 15 year-old cat PTS the week before Christmas.

Around 3 months ago I took on these two - now 15 months old (white /silver) and 8 months (black/grey). They are definitely healing some of the holes in my heart - they’re intelligent, but completely daft at the same time. They chirrup, trill and chat away. They really love being together. And, most importantly, they just make me smile.

Cats, dogs, goats, ponies - all the pets are just the best.

My two rescue cats, black one is Minx our bonkers boy who loves food and once stole the steak from my husband's plate.😂😂
Our white and ginger boy Gizmo is such a scaredy cat, but loves cuddles. 🥰🥰
You will notice in the photo that the frame is knocked down as that is where they sit. 😂😂
