Inspired by a comment on another thread, and in an attempt to give relief from the weighty matters of the world, futile though it might be, here is my cat and her two week old kittens. A proud and devoted Mum indeed.

I had my Dad's funeral last week, and my MIL was cremated earlier today, and these little scraps are literally keeping me sane.

Oh my God, Mum just jumped up on the bed so I leaned over the edge of the bed, phone in hand. Elbow slipped, I'm stuck halfway to the floor legs in the air, phone shoots out of my hand into the box, fortunately missing a kitten, who was nonetheless startled and mowed loudly, Mum virtually bounced off my head to protect them, and I pulled my shoulder trying to right myself 🤣🤣🤣

I think looking for small pieces of joy when times are dark is a strategy everyone should try.
Here are two of my five - they are not related, but The Ladyship (the black one) can be very maternal towards the wobbly one.
