Inspired by a comment on another thread, and in an attempt to give relief from the weighty matters of the world, futile though it might be, here is my cat and her two week old kittens. A proud and devoted Mum indeed.

I had my Dad's funeral last week, and my MIL was cremated earlier today, and these little scraps are literally keeping me sane.

So if you have furry friends who keep you going, please share them here ❤️‍🔥

Oh bless him x there's a brilliant thread on here about shrew ice cream that has loads of ideas for sensible icy treats for cats in hot weather, and alot of comedy gold. Definitely worth a read 😁 Apparently shrews are not on the menu though, as cats don't really like them.

Just a note. I know you can’t spay her yet but she must be kept in until you can. (Our rescue kitties were born to a mum who then went out and got pregnant while they were little. A queen in heat will do anything to get at a boy.)

She will still need spaying. Else she will likely escape at some point. It also prevents pyo which is a killer.

Yes, that's next on my list once kittens are weaned and distributed. I hold my hands up that I dropped several balls on this one, but am trying to make up for it now.

Girl cat was a case of me or death, so I think I'm marginally the better option x

Did it x got a couple of sneaky ones after Mum got up, stomped on my laptop and looked out of the window for a few minutes 😁 had the theme tune for "Mission Impossible" in my head the whole time 🫣

Gorgeous x I love it when they are determined to fit in the spots they choose 😁 there's the physics theory that cats are in fact both liquid and solid - perfectly scientific IMO. And sometimes they teleport.
