Inspired by a comment on another thread, and in an attempt to give relief from the weighty matters of the world, futile though it might be, here is my cat and her two week old kittens. A proud and devoted Mum indeed.

I had my Dad's funeral last week, and my MIL was cremated earlier today, and these little scraps are literally keeping me sane.

One of my semi ferals. Kit. This time last year wouldn't be seen more than 6 ft away, now wants to be carried round the garden and have her tummy tickled (and then bites your fingers).

Festive kitty for the win 🥰 it's amazing sometimes how they tolerate and humour us weird hairless cats. Dress up? Sure, because I know there are treats to come....

My gangly pair...🐾🐾😻😻 Red was so traumatised when we adopted him and Black as young adults it took 4years before he would allow himself to trust humans again. Now headbutts and ritualistic demands for attention are the norm.

I distributed 100 ladybird larvae around my flowerbeds yesterday.

Fingers crossed lots of them survive and take care of my aphid problem.

I had a horrid night at work last night but on my way home spotted a tiny spaniel pup, she was beautiful and very cuddly, immediately brightened my day and I forgot about the previous 12 hours of hell.
