Inspired by a comment on another thread, and in an attempt to give relief from the weighty matters of the world, futile though it might be, here is my cat and her two week old kittens. A proud and devoted Mum indeed.

I had my Dad's funeral last week, and my MIL was cremated earlier today, and these little scraps are literally keeping me sane.

My girl was found in a cardboard box with her kittens. She was then spayed when rescued. When I was driving her and one of her kittens home for the first time I told her that I'd never leave her. I didn't and stroked her head when being put to sleep telling her that I'd kept my promise for her and that it was OK for her to go. Still miss her loads nearly three years on. She never left my side through my miscarriages and knew I was pregnant before I did. She used to lie on my bumps purring as they kicked away, she knew having been there herself.

They are incredible animals. I still have her daughter who is now 12 and we think is beginning to show signs of dementia sadly.

My cat has a stick and is very happy about it

Our arsehole. She is known as Psycho as she is the nastiest cat we've ever had. She bites and hisses at me regularly- while insisting on sleeping on my pillow every night and is unable to ever go to her food bowl without insisting I come too- by staring at me unnervingly until I do.
She's disgustingly pretty though!
