Fears - what everyday things are people scared of

I’ll start - sounds stupid but I am scared of the top stair. As soon as I have started down the stairs I’m fine but it’s just that first step.

Fish. Both fishmonger and aquarium. I know it’s not rational but I cannot be in situations around fish, even if they aren’t touching me.

DD has a tiny hamster, he is lovely, I absolutely cannot pick him up, no way, gives me the absolute heebie jeebies!

Murders, rapists, pregnant women’s backs. It just seems like they will topple over and break their back, I know this isn’t rational but it scares me 🤣

I hated fish as a kid. Mainly the eating kind. But the penguin in Batman, ate a fish and he scared the shit out of me, think it was he nose.

Stray hairs

Squirrels. One got into the house and we couldn't remove it for two days. I still freak out if one is in the garden.

My MIL is terrified of buttons, especially big ones. She says they make her feel physically sick

Buttons, especially loose ones, they don't scare me but make me feel sick. It has a name koumpounophobia.

Stairs massive fear of falling down, fluff, hair, moths, butterflies.. I hide my anxiety well!

Rats and mice (it’s their tails) I can’t even look at photos of them.

Going upstairs in the dark. Still have the same childish fear that I’m being chased.

Too smart to allow me to successfully get the bastard out of the house. I now never even leave the back door open if I'm going to another room temporarily.

@murasaki poor little bobs was probably terrified plus they need to,eat their own body weight every few days (but they don’t weigh much) hope he got out ok

Going on car journeys. Where I live has a shockingly bad standard of driving and a very high accident rate. Virtually every week there is a serious accident.
I'm a competent driver but I can't cope with the amount of reckless idiots I might encounter

Broken glass. I try to get someone else to clear it up.

Spiders, lifts, the thought of going under ground, heights, roller coasters and daddy long legs!

Two people, a broom, and lots of trauma from me. He took up residence behind a radiator, then a bookcase, he was an absolute arsehat.

Well either him or his relative then attempted throwing themselves at the window, so I think he had a good time and wanted back in.

Enclosed spaces. Those industrial walk in freezers, I fear I could be locked in and die from cold😧
