To ask if those of us who enjoy a sandwich for lunch are a dying breed

Lunchtime in the office, I'm the only one tucking into a sandwich. Everyone else seems to be jabbing away with their fork at something in a Tupperware container.

Are we butty lovers a rarity now?

I don’t like bread much, so I don’t eat sandwiches. My colleague eats one every day as part of a Tesco meal deal.

I often get a Too Good To Go bag from Pret (to give to my kids) and they’re always full of sandwiches and bready things, which makes me think they’re not popular.

Just been to subway for lunch, which was doing a roaring trade.

As does Greggs in our town.

I've just had a sandwich. Seeded bloomer, salad cream spread on the bread, lettuce, tomatoes and a slice of corned beef. Was lovely.

Sandwiches don’t overnight or travel well. I don’t think they are great for people who prefer to bring in lunch. Tuppawear good can be prepared in advance and commutes better.

I hardly ever make a sandwich these days.
I am a sucker for a cheap supermarket cheese and onion sarnie though.
Mostly I'm a tupperware jabber though. I adore cold leftovers.

They are my favourite 😍

Don't think Pret are on their uppers, are they?

No. Judging by my local which is always rammed. I just think old fashioned lunch fayre like sandwiches are less popular - which is why the Too Good To Go bags have lots of them.

Far more likely that they make more sandwiches to start with because they're far less perishable than the salads.
