To expect sellers on Vinted to at least

Check the status of their online sales. Don't put something up for sale and then piss off and not be seen for a week.
Secondly, to reply when you make an offer. I don't send ridiculous offers or be a cheeky fucker but honestly, how hard is it to press the decline button?

Take more than one picture. Forgot that add that on.

Dangermoo · 21/05/2025 21:39

I hate that one picture thing. If they can't be bothered to add more photos from different angles, I don't look any further. Same as the lazy fuckers putting up a photo of a creased top.

CrystalMighty · 21/05/2025 21:41

And.say what material it is!!! 😂

HuffleMyPuffle · 21/05/2025 21:56

Sometimes the notifications don't come through properly
Or life happens
And if they don't reply then it's clearly a decline isn't it?
Buyers are just as bad for that one

On top of this, don't list it as a particular material when it isn't.

Your polyester 'silky satin feel' top is not SILK.

This is why I don’t put the material in case I get it wrong 😂 that said I’m primarily selling baby clothes for about £2 a pop so I don’t put tooooo much effort into it

TheBlueUniform · 21/05/2025 22:02

Same happened to me OP. I paid the price they were asking and they didn’t bother sending the item. WTF is the point in that!

Neveranynamesleft · 21/05/2025 22:06

Pictures of them wearing shoes...yuk.
Saying shoes are new without tags and never worn but the fact the picture shoes the bottom of the shoes is clearly worn is a bit of a giveaway.

Desperateforsleepplease · 21/05/2025 22:09

Check prices online..looking for dressing up clothes. With fee and delivery many are the same price as new. I don't expect everything tor be £1 but selling something for £15 that I might have to wait a week to arrive or can get for £20 new tomorrow isn't going to work

HelloNeighbour2021 · 21/05/2025 22:13

Sometimes I filter brand new items, so annoying when you see something marked new without tags then go on to read the description that then says worn a couple of times.

IDontHateRainbows · 21/05/2025 22:14

Stupidly lowball offers don't deserve a reply though

healthybychristmas · 21/05/2025 22:14

I can't stand it when people don't iron clothes and show it so creased that you don't even know if you'd get it looking okay again.

Queenofheart · 21/05/2025 22:22

and why can’t they post within a couple of days, sometimes I wait ages for my delivery 😫

Pabbel · 21/05/2025 22:25

Or they take your money but don't send the item.

Handbagcuriosity · 21/05/2025 22:29

Context is everything. I generally reply quickly. But I’ve an item that I’ve popped on for £2 reduced from £4 and someone has messaged offering £1.40. I’ve not bothered to reply as I might as well shove it in the charity bag.

IberianBlackout · 21/05/2025 22:31

Vinted got too popular and now is flooded with time wasters, it sucks

We need to all revert back to eBay lol

My theory is that this is for fetish buyers tbh

Because you get 7 days to post and it's not Amazon.

Pabbel · 21/05/2025 22:25

Surely after the postage timeframe the purchase gets reversed and you get your money back? I've only had it happen once to me but it automatically refunded.

TwistedWonder · 21/05/2025 22:39

I recently paid £80 fir a dress on Vinted, messaged her twice asking when she was sending them after she never sent and sale was cancelled she replied saying ‘sorry been busy’ - ffs don’t list items you’re too busy to send and leave me £80 out of pocket for a fortnight

seasonalexpression · 21/05/2025 22:46

“BNWT NEVER WORN” but you’re… wearing it… in the photo…. Ohkeeeyyyyy bye

Yes this. Last week I was away with work on one of the busiest weeks of my whole year. Came back to see a top that had been listed for ages for £3 (and it is in fact a lovely Next one and it has in fact only been worn twice - though I know the buyer doesn’t have to believe that as everyone claims this!) getting two separate offers - one for £2.50 and one for £2.20

I didn’t reply as I barely had time to text my husband to keep in touch let alone anything else, but it didn’t seem with replying once home - I mean pay the extra 50p or don’t love, I’m not messing about. Someone bought it for the asking price the next day anyway.

I actually hate the offer system - I price things accordingly and I think on the low side. I never sell anything I wouldn’t be happy to receive and I have certainly paid much more for comparable or not half as good items on there. But everyone just wants to offer now - so you have to do the mental gymnastics of bumping it up enough so you can knock it down to try to tempt a sale, I already have a child, a house and a full time job I can’t be bothered trying to bloody stealth price a pair of M&S jeans. Same with buying - if I think it’s worth what they’ve listed it for I’ll pay it, if not I’ll move on. Far preferred it when that was what everyone did.

I suppose I can see the value of offers when we’re talking designer and luxury items that are listed for much higher prices and therefore there may be some bargaining room/ debate about how much they’re worth to someone. But sadly I’m operating in the £2-£10 space and there’s no need for it!

TwistedWonder · 21/05/2025 22:53

I hate when someone makes an offer then immediately messages saying ‘please accept. my offer’

Also when I list an item very competitively priced (I always check how similar items are priced and list slightly below) and within 2 minutes of listing someone offers half.

No if I’m listing a £129 dress worn once for £60 then no I won’t take £30 ffs

thedarksideofthesun · 21/05/2025 22:57

Pabbel · 21/05/2025 22:25

Or they take your money but don't send the item.

Sellers don't get paid until you receive the item and confirm that you are happy with it so they are not taking your money!
Most sellers are doing it for a bit of extra cash and probably have busy lives. They have 5 days to post and that should be taken into account when buying. In my experience most post a lot quicker but it should not be expected, they are not a shop.

User27563 · 21/05/2025 23:00

Ooh I’ll join in
my latest vinted grumble is that I favourite things to remind me about them then people send me special offer prices and sometimes messages imploring me to buy or suggesting I “act fast as my stuff goes quickly”. Puts me right off! If I wanted to buy I would. If I wanted to make an offer I would!
