To expect sellers on Vinted to at least

Check the status of their online sales. Don't put something up for sale and then piss off and not be seen for a week.
Secondly, to reply when you make an offer. I don't send ridiculous offers or be a cheeky fucker but honestly, how hard is it to press the decline button?

I can’t stand shit listing photos. It’s so lazy.

Soooo many shoe listings fail to show a photo of the side of the shoe. That’s the main bit I want to see in terms of style.

People who purchase but then don’t bother collecting should be banned.

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 22/05/2025 10:21

My favourite “BNWT” was a bikini with a picture of the seller wearing it. TO A FOAM PARTY 😂

People are just grim

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 22/05/2025 10:25

My biggest beef about Vinted is with Vinted itself.

They let you upload make up and skincare items, but don't put a Buy Button on the listing, so nobody can actually purchase it.

It's just to make the site look busier.

The worst thing about this is that they'll let you pay to Bump these things, even though they know perfectly well that you can't actually sell them.

So they're taking your money under false pretences. I've had such a long and pointless argument with them about this, and I might just as well have saved my time.

I never got my money back, either.

I could see loads of people were favouriting my items, but they couldn't pay. It was maddening.

Or you get several pictures of the box, and none of the shoes.

Sometimes I filter brand new items, so annoying when you see something marked new without tags then go on to read the description that then says worn a couple of times.

I've reported for this against Vinted’s own rules (condition), saying ‘new’ isn't used/worn. Even did it for pyjamas saying listed as ‘new’ worn a couple of times, pyjama shorts’, is unhygienic.

Vinted never uphold it as it isn't a breach….🙄🤯🥵

Catopia · 22/05/2025 10:32

Agree re sales, not re offers. I sometimes sit on offers for things that I've only just uploaded particularly if there's a lot of interest as often either someone else will buy full price, or the person will themselves come back and pay full price because they can see there's interest. Ultimately I want to get as much as I can for items.

My favourite is “small mark on the sleeve/leg/whatever, would come out in the wash”

Well fucking wash it then before you list it!

OMG yes, this!

Mind you, if there's a mark on something that I really want, I feel okay about offering a low price, and they usually accept.

I don't get this, I can buy makeup and skincare items ?

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 22/05/2025 10:39

Rtato · 22/05/2025 09:08

Yes this!! I just wasted the postage because someone described their item as very good, but it was covered in bobbles and had a stain on the front! It was satisfactory at best. None of the photos showed this, but no apology at all.

But you can refuse to accept things, and you get your money back.

Not from private sellers (which is most of us).

Only from retailers who Vinted allows.

Have a look through all the Olay products, for example. There's no Buy Button on most of them.

I definitely can , I've just had a look. Picked 10 random olay items and I can buy all of them - all of which are private sellers? See screenshot attached.

And all the stuff of my own (brand new) that I uploaded had no means for buyers to purchase.

I got endless messages asking me why not.

Okay, I really don't understand that. Do you? Seriously, can anyone explain?

I just googled it and apparently its a known glitch. You should be able to get it fixed. It's definitely not intentional, just had a look through several more and I can buy them all.

Have you got Yodel and Royal Mail turned on as shipping options? You can only use these 2 couriers for beauty stuff so if you've only got Evri turned on for instance it might be causing an issue.

I have.

I actually only use Royal Mail to despatch items. I live in a remote village and it's my only realistic option.

But Vinted suggested that I had no Buy Button because I didn't have enough options for dispatch listed, so I tried an experiment. I clicked on every possible carrier.

Still no Buy Button.

And it works both ways. I can neither buy nor sell make up or skincare items.

Aaarrrgggghhhhhh

Mine is "just want back what I paid". Why? You didn't bother returning it, so someone else should pay full price for it (plus fees and postage, so more than new) without any of the warranty, protection, etc of buying it themselves?

I'm sick of this

I saw a lovely top and the label was clearly £5

'Just want what I paid'

So by the time I've bought the item, paid fees and postage, that's more £8/9 for an item I could walk to sainsburys on my way to work and buy it for the £5 it originally cost!

Plus I get a receipt and can take it back if I need to for free (apart from my shoe leather but I'd take it on my way to work)

She either took it down or some soul bought it but it happens loads

I would delete your vinted account and set up a completely new one with a different email.
