To expect sellers on Vinted to at least

Check the status of their online sales. Don't put something up for sale and then piss off and not be seen for a week.
Secondly, to reply when you make an offer. I don't send ridiculous offers or be a cheeky fucker but honestly, how hard is it to press the decline button?

I would delete your vinted account and set up a completely new one with a different email.

Right, I actually did do that and.........

Nothing. Vinted obviously hates me.
🤣

It's okay, I wasn't upset! But thanks anyway.

It's a mystery, isn't it?

tedibear · 22/05/2025 12:58

People are so lazy on vinted (not me obvs lol).

The one pic thing, I sometimes think is a red flag lol. What they trying to hide. Also could sellers have an actual look at the item and check for any stains or fading etc. I often see it and have to ask is that a stain they go oh yeah there’s a small stain, then bloody say so!

The other one for me is please state the size in the description. I know it doesn’t let you choose age 7-8 for example but it would helpful to know when you’ve listed it under age 8 is it age 8 or 7-8.

I also just received something that was meant to be age 6 and it’s bloody age 9, ffs!

Bought item on 10th May, money taken from my bank on thec11th, no item received, no communication or refund received, does anybody know niaoi064@ 163.com ?

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 22/05/2025 10:39

But you can refuse to accept things, and you get your money back.

I did, but it still cost me the initial postage and the hassle of sending back. I wouldn’t have bought it if I knew there was damage.

I’m thinking of starting a club of people who understand the pain of trying to buy silk clothes on Vinted - I feel like I’ve found my people on this thread!

Some shops sell items described as "silk feel". Sellers sometimes just copy the original description from the original shop's website.

Doggymummar · 22/05/2025 13:55

colonialwomanonthewing · 22/05/2025 07:52

Also, the more questions a buyer asks, the less likely they are to buy. If it's for something relatively £££, I don't mind answering, but when it's someone going 'hi wot is length' for a £3 H&M t-shirt I just think - can you not look on the website size guide.

I reply to those, sorry you'll need to check the website, it's all in storage and won't be retrieved till sold.

If it's over a tenner I might. I just list on eBay now as Vinted customers are a real pain. On eBay if they offer a reduced amount they have to pay if accepted. I had over £100 of offers on V last weekend and they didn't pay.

I've reported for this against Vinted’s own rules (condition), saying ‘new’ isn't used/worn. Even did it for pyjamas saying listed as ‘new’ worn a couple of times, pyjama shorts’, is unhygienic.

Vinted never uphold it as it isn't a breach….🙄🤯🥵

I reported someone recently. I sold a dress I’d worn once.
When they received it and before they’d even clicked everything is ok, she listed it for sale as new without tags, never worn for £25 more than she bought it for from me. And she actually said in her description it’s never worn, bought for a cancelled event - an absolute nonsense story!

Vinted did actually make her change to very good

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 22/05/2025 10:25

My biggest beef about Vinted is with Vinted itself.

They let you upload make up and skincare items, but don't put a Buy Button on the listing, so nobody can actually purchase it.

It's just to make the site look busier.

The worst thing about this is that they'll let you pay to Bump these things, even though they know perfectly well that you can't actually sell them.

So they're taking your money under false pretences. I've had such a long and pointless argument with them about this, and I might just as well have saved my time.

I never got my money back, either.

I could see loads of people were favouriting my items, but they couldn't pay. It was maddening.

I don't understand this, I buy lots of skincare and makeup from vinted.

Why does that bother you? That's exactly how shops work, buy things at trade and sell for more.

Every seller selling a "Brand new with / without tag" item that HAS been worn should be reported and frankly, penalised, at least marked down in their ratings.

It's the false advertisement and downright lies the issue.

Vinted will refund you automatically if your don't receive your parcel.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 22/05/2025 15:18

Argh Vinted and their sizing!

People will list a top which has an L label in it (which for most garments is a 16/18) and they choose size 12 because Vinted's sizing has L/12.

Vinted really need to just let people put the size on, without the S M L XL XXL etc. It's really confusing.

Or FFS measure your garments, so people know what size they're going to receive.

This issue does my head in more than any other.

if at least they put a photo of the size label, it's not too bad.

Vinted will refund you automatically if your don't receive your parcel.

Also, it's not the seller who does the refunding. It's actually Vinted themselves.

If their system detects that goods haven't been dispatched, you get a refund a couple of days later.

Well yes, but so many don't bother.

And there are countless things in the wrong place.

You can be looking through the blouses and a random handbag or bra turns up.

Pabbel · 22/05/2025 15:23

Thanks for the info, how long before they usually realise it hasn't been dispatched?

48 hours after the last day it was supposed to be sent IME.

If you have a problem with anything, just message Vinted on the app.

Murdoch1949 · 22/05/2025 15:29

Only just started using Vinted. The amount of creased items are bewildering, don't they want to sell? What sort of seller can't iron or steam an item. Also the people who just put one photo, sometimes of folded item fgs. I always make offers, if I don't get it fine, generally I do though.

stealthbanana · 22/05/2025 15:32

Who cares about ironing? It’s going to be posted to you anyway so it will arrive creased if it wasn’t already!

Pabbel · 22/05/2025 15:35

Thanks, I have emailed Vinted help centre, I cannot also get into my account for whatever reason,
Will not be buying from Vinted anymore.

HuffleMyPuffle · 22/05/2025 16:10

I'm selling stuff for max £4 for the most part
I am not faffing around with a tape measure
