To expect sellers on Vinted to at least

Check the status of their online sales. Don't put something up for sale and then piss off and not be seen for a week.
Secondly, to reply when you make an offer. I don't send ridiculous offers or be a cheeky fucker but honestly, how hard is it to press the decline button?

I hate when someone makes an offer then immediately messages saying ‘please accept. my offer’

Also when I list an item very competitively priced (I always check how similar items are priced and list slightly below) and within 2 minutes of listing someone offers half.

No if I’m listing a £129 dress worn once for £60 then no I won’t take £30 ffs

They can’t offer half I don't think, it’s restricted to something like 20% less

TimeForTeaAndG · 21/05/2025 23:03

User27563 · 21/05/2025 23:00

Ooh I’ll join in
my latest vinted grumble is that I favourite things to remind me about them then people send me special offer prices and sometimes messages imploring me to buy or suggesting I “act fast as my stuff goes quickly”. Puts me right off! If I wanted to buy I would. If I wanted to make an offer I would!

You can switch off "notify seller" in your privacy settings. I don't get any offer emails when I favourite things now.

User27563 · 21/05/2025 23:05

Thank you! I just updated my settings

The minimum offer is 60% of listed price so it’s just over half

aylis · 21/05/2025 23:07

I wish they would let me know if they're not going to post something until the last minute

loadypoady · 21/05/2025 23:15

I love browsing on Vinted and often favourite things I like but wouldn’t buy because of the ridiculous prices being asked. I can’t comprehend some of the sellers expectations for second hand items.

Shoemadlady · 21/05/2025 23:34

I had someone today try and knock 50% off the price I’d listed for. When I checked it was obv they were buying at cheaper price then marking up and selling on. Just felt like a massive pee take!

FiftynFooked · 22/05/2025 00:01

Listing things as BNWT then saying in the description “only worn once”. Not brand new then is it?!

henlake7 · 22/05/2025 00:11

Or BNWT when the picture shows the removable brand tag and not the actual sales tag. Like we can't tell the difference!

MidnightMeltdown · 22/05/2025 00:28

Does it really make a difference to you whether an offer is declined or ignored? I always ignore offers if they are asking for a discount of more than 20% as I think that they are being CF. I don’t really want offers at all but there is no way to turn them off onVinted like you can on eBay. It’s one thing that I find quite irritating about Vinted as a seller.

HuffleMyPuffle · 22/05/2025 00:30

As Vinted doesn't have "like new" as an option between "new without tags" and "very good" I suspect some use NWT to mean "I've worn it once and it's not damaged" because "very good" sound like it's been worn a fair bit more.

Sellers have 7 days to send. Some people might use Vinted as a business but most people are just selling on stuff for a bit of extra cash and to keep things from landfill. They post when they can.

Sometime life gets in the way and they can't reply immediently or even the next day or two

KidLeopard · 21/05/2025 22:01

On top of this, don't list it as a particular material when it isn't.

Your polyester 'silky satin feel' top is not SILK.

Oh that winds me up too. The number of people who think cheap satin is silk!

Neveranynamesleft · 21/05/2025 22:06

Pictures of them wearing shoes...yuk.
Saying shoes are new without tags and never worn but the fact the picture shoes the bottom of the shoes is clearly worn is a bit of a giveaway.

Yes, this, and hobbit feet and bunions.

Yes, are feet can look like shit but don’t photo them in shoes you want to sell.

SanPellegrinOh · 22/05/2025 01:01

thedarksideofthesun · 21/05/2025 22:57

Sellers don't get paid until you receive the item and confirm that you are happy with it so they are not taking your money!
Most sellers are doing it for a bit of extra cash and probably have busy lives. They have 5 days to post and that should be taken into account when buying. In my experience most post a lot quicker but it should not be expected, they are not a shop.

And it works both ways - buyers who have no issues with the item but don’t leave feedback and so seller has to wait days to be paid for the item they’ve sold

I messaged someone once to ask if a bag was leather. ‘Yes’ she replied, ‘it’s faux leather’ o….k

Haha I've had exactly the same thing. "Yes, it's ethical leather."

So it's not leather!

Stinkbomb · 22/05/2025 01:22

But things can be up in there for months/years - maybe the seller is on holiday/in hospital when you message them?

uncomfortablydumb60 · 22/05/2025 01:25

I bought something a few days ago, the day before the posting date deadline, I got a message saying “ sorry, I sold this elsewhere “
Edit your listings then!

Take more than one picture. Forgot that add that on.

Take a picture of the actual thing you're selling, and not laid out on the floor.

Oh and not upside down FFS.

Hafta · 22/05/2025 05:08

Handbagcuriosity · 21/05/2025 22:29

Context is everything. I generally reply quickly. But I’ve an item that I’ve popped on for £2 reduced from £4 and someone has messaged offering £1.40. I’ve not bothered to reply as I might as well shove it in the charity bag.

Yes someone offered me £1.20 for something I was selling for £2. I replied and said for God sake it's 80p. They replied -you don't need to be so rude.

I beg to differ.

Then you can take it from sale or hide it whatever.

BookishBabe · 22/05/2025 05:18

There seems to be this curse.
Every time someone has ever messaged me saying "I'll post today" it always takes 4 or 5 days for them to post.
I'm not even usually that desperate for the item.
But some people say nothing and post 17 minutes after I've purchased (they must live opposite a parcel shop).

We have a bet going on how many people who message saying they'll post today (either to try and get me to purchase the item, or when I've already purchased the item) will actually post that day. At the moment, it's never happened! And they volunteer this information, I've never actually asked when they're going to post.

Hafta · 22/05/2025 05:58

That's weird, I never messaged to say I'm going to post. But I do think if you're selling on Vinted you need to remove stuff from sale if it's not selling and relist (I think this makes it more likely to sell anyway) or just make sure it fits with your life.

Uuugghhh yes! Whenever there’s a pic of a foot in them shoes I’m out!

ThejoyofNC · 22/05/2025 06:02

More than anything I hate when people list as "new without tags" and then write in the description that it was only worn once or for a couple of hours. It's not new then is it.
