Reform winning big

1000 replies

Keirawr · 02/05/2025 06:21

Reform had a good night, winning county councils, probably will win a mayoral seat and won the parliamentary by election also.

You don’t have to be a Reform voter to acknowledge that they are taking votes off Labour. Or that they are being electorally effective.

No doubt the ‘basket of deplorables’ crowd will be along in a min with their usual quips calling reform voters names, having learned absolutely 0 from Brexit. Insult the voters at your peril.

These same people also totally miss the point that winning is winning. Feeling all moral and superior about ‘oh well, what will they actually do’ changes nothing.

Perhaps those who label everyone that wants immigration limiting as ‘racist’ Will think again. But likely not.

It's amusing this talk of equal, fairer societies. Tell that to the groomed girls and white working class boys. Somehow they are always found at the bottom of the pile.

Its not offensive in any way shape or form, dont be ridiculous. People emigrate around the world every single hour of the day.

Agree. I’m an immigrant and I don’t see what’s offensive about pp’s statement.
In fact, I’ve emigrated several times in my life - some moves were very difficult, others relatively easy and spontaneous. Immigration doesn’t always equal struggle.

He's probably a reform voter 😂

That can't be real? What an absolute bell end of a man if it is.

If there's never been a well functioning equal society how can you know that the society you strive for will be a better society? Anyway, it will never happen as human nature is against it.

how can you know that the society you strive for will be a better society?

I don't but I'll take the risk and vote accordingly

Anyway, it will never happen as human nature is against it.
Sure you're right let's just look after numero uno we're all doomed anyway 🙄

Idontgiveashitanymore · 02/05/2025 13:22

I’m glad they won something. Someone needs to be doing something about this fucked up country.

I'm not trying to sound virtuous I'm explaining how I vote.

But I think really you are voting for what you think will be best overall for you and yours. So you are voting for number 1 and in your own best interests.
No, not me or mine, society but of course what I think is best for society may not be shared with someone eise I'm not that bloody arrogant. This started because you could not believe people did not vote like you do, we have explained how we vote and for some reason you are arguing with how we vote and suggesting we are wrong in our claim.

No, this started because someone said they couldn't believe people would vote Reform after seeing what Farage is like. I simply countered with I couldn't believe anyone would vote Labour after seeing what Two Tier Keir is like. I didn't say who I vote for (so you're jumping to conclusions), but FYI have never voted Reform and not sure I ever will.

Does it? Has there ever been a well functioning equal society anywhere in the world let alone the UK?

Possibly Scandanavian countries. Norway/Sweden/iceland/Denmark/finland. All seem to have a higher standard of living and a greater happiness factor.

I read their manifesto this morning. They’re going to ensure no waits on the NHS. More doctors. More nurses. More police. More affordable housing. Less tax. Less inheritance tax. Little to no stamp duty. Sounds dreamy…

and totally uncosted and unworkable. If it were that easy I’m pretty sure Labour or Conservatives would have done all this and been the heroes of the UK.

Finally a reasoned and clear explanation of the flaws of the Reform Party rather than simply shouting racists, fascists, extreme far right, their voters are thick etc etc.

I read the Reform manifesto for the general election and the level of underfunding was second only to the Green Party. In addition most of their policies could never be practically implemented.

There it is! This might shock you but the majority of child abuse and grooming is from white men.

"Nearly 90% of those convicted of wider child abuse offences and on the sex offenders register are white men."

What do we know about the ethnicity of people involved in sexual offences against children? - Full Fact

The information we have about the ethnicity of those involved in sexual grooming and sexual offences against children more widely is patchy and has a lot of problems.

Nothing much will change at the next general election.
Labour will win, the Tories will be second.
Reform have a small chance of coming third, of the SNP carry on messing things up.

Have you read about what's happened in Sweden recently? Possibly Denmark, they have a very strict immigration policy.

Not virtuous no why insult me? I do know that I am privileged to be able to vote how I do.

I can't imagine why anyone would vote for Jenkyns.

I know of someone who didn't vote in the Runcorn by election because the Labour candidate was fat and her clothes looked cheap. 😡

What a horrible person Jenkyns seems to be.
Tent cities for immigrants of colour, welcome and open doors if you are from Ukraine and are white.

I’m ashamed to be British right now.

Yes, the link below sets this out. Reform is a registered political party and has to follow the same rules on declaring donations as other parties.

Sorry, Etaerio,can’t see link.

Winning ‘big’ in places that are right leaning to start with. Agree with poster above, they lack experience.

Right leaning places like Labour strongholds Runcorn and Rochdale, and Devon?

Not sure how you get experience as an MP without, you know, being an MP?

I don’t think you can be this certain. MRP polls don’t show this, and the direction of travel could be up not down.
