AIBU to think he's bloody sexy? He's lovely looking and seems to be so nice personality wise too. He can cook! He's certainly making my Sunday afternoon nicer.

I’m absolutely obsessed with food programmes in particular Great British Menu, and have travelled around trying out a few, but I can’t think of a single chef that’s ever made me think anything other than “delicious looking food”.

Not Paul Hollywood either. It wouldn’t surprise me if he was next on the Me Too list.

Mrsredlipstick · 20/04/2025 17:49

James Martin every day.
But I'm only after his chicken, 😋(with maderia sauce and parsnip puree.

He likes the booze and is bloody rude apparently but everything he cooks makes me drool.
I asked my DC to write to him because due to a bout of illness I can't eat much. I want to sit and scoff after the cameras are off. Anything but eels.

oncemoreuntothebeachdearfriends · 20/04/2025 17:52

Jean-Christophe Novelli gets my vote.

I ate at one of his restaurants twice, & both times he was there cooking, supervising & checking with his customers.

Excellent food, & he has a way of looking at you as if you're the only person in the room. That makes your knickers melt.

Very unassuming & I've never heard any scandal about him.

Anrom19 · 20/04/2025 17:55

I may be wrong here but I believe he did a lot for his community in Marlow and the surrounding areas in ‘Covid ‘ times . With meals and help. Mans gotta make a living eh ? Seems sort of kind and dealing with his demons . There is always some one who is prepared to pay £37.90 or whatever for a baked potato. That is their choice .

TheRealHousewife · 20/04/2025 17:55

A few of you have mentioned James Martin.

I didn’t know until relatively recently that James Martin had a long term relationship with Barbara Brocolli (owns the 007 franchise and is a billionaire I think). One of the Bond films he was quite involved in choosing the colour for the featured Austin Martin. Barbara actually bought James one but he didn’t accept delivery; James said this was the defining moment that led to their split. He couldn’t cope with the financial imbalances.

She also bought him a Picasso painting. Yes really.

He still states to this day Barbara was the love of his life.

Good Lord.

Omar Allibhoy is the only one who I can stomach, but I always get the impression that most celebrity chefs are just mean.

I'm a bit wary of fancying celebrities in general now as I'm worried something unpleasant about them will come out that will put me right off!

beetr00 · 20/04/2025 17:46

PLEASE, DO NOT, even if you are being lighthearted

It is not about looks surely, elevate yourselves.

This is exactly the same sort of rubbish that "men" propound.

We, us women, need to hold each other to higher standards than the BS that that men project and think is acceptable?

Maybe I'm being too intense though?

Is it the same though?
I think our observations re looks come from experience of the whole person.
Mens observations of woman seem to focus on which body parts turn them on.

I can't imagine many men discussing the merits of a middle aged, hair past it's best, slight gone to seed woman and saying how lovely she is 😬

Can’t believe nobody else has agreed with this! Parts Unknown is an incredible tv show.

I agree!

Cynic17 · 20/04/2025 18:01

As to whether he's attractive, I can't say, but you can't blame the guy for running a successful business! He charges what the market will accept, so good for him. And friends who have eaten at the Hand and Flowers say his food is really good.

I wouldn't chuck out Marcus Wareing tho......

nope
overweight alcoholics do nought for me

What an ugly comment.

@Letsummercommence

"I think our observations re looks come from experience of the whole person"

that is so true, I agree with you, yes, @Letsummercommence

It just, REALLY, irritates me that women are salivating over those guys such as Kerridge, FGS 😂

Tom Kerridge!!! seriously smh.

Jean Christophe is lovely. Many years ago he judged Wilf and Bumbledog in a dog show and put them second. He spent a good deal of time with Wilf and gave him a cook book and an apron. Wilf wrote him a thankyou letter and he wrote back to Wilf. Recently he sent Wilf a signed copy of his latest book.
I'm not a fan of Kerridge.

Well they are right up my street so I am off to google some images.

😂 I love you for posting that!

Simonjt · 20/04/2025 18:14

Tom keep women and fat people out of the kitchen Kerridge, no, he doesn’t appeal at all, he also either isn’t very bright, or he thinks people will magically forget the things he has said.

I’m not sure I’ve ever found a chef attractive.

CallMeEuphemia · 20/04/2025 18:16

Toelp · 20/04/2025 16:29

It’s Raymond blanc for me, I think it’s the accent and his passion, he could do filthy things to me and cook amazing food for me after 😂

Yep same here. Raymond is very sexy. Tom Kerridge seems like a nice bloke, and I have one of his books, but sexy? No way.

whatisforteamum · 20/04/2025 16:46

What about Ainsley Harriot for a bloody good laugh.

Have met several of the chefs mentioned on this thread, can confirm Ainsley is an absolute sweetheart

I feel like he's got big dick energy though

Oh golly what does that mean??! 😳

Agree wholeheartedly. A brilliant man, very sadly missed. Such a talent

TheWorminLabyrinth · 20/04/2025 18:21

Cantabulous · 20/04/2025 17:31

I get a real misogynistic vibe off him actually…

Well he did say that women didn't have "enough fire in their bellies" to be successful chefs.

He also laid into someone on instagram after they criticized his overpriced fish n chips.

Seems like a dick to me.

Mrsredlipstick · 20/04/2025 18:21

Calliopespa · 20/04/2025 18:18

Oh golly what does that mean??! 😳

Rude things!

I only answered the thread because I've spent days giving back to trans activists and I'm exhausted. Something light hearted was needed.

BugBugTheTornado · 20/04/2025 18:26

Ew, no.

No idea why his stylist (I assume) insists on putting him in skinny jeans for every tv appearance, they look peculiar on his shape. Makes him look like a parsnip.

JifNtGif · 20/04/2025 18:30

IBelieveinSomething · 20/04/2025 17:40

I think Hugh fernley whatever got into cancel territory for something or other. I can’t remember what. Possibly a Greg Wallace!

These are some big accusations with v little back up! River cottage will be fuming !

MadMadMad · 20/04/2025 18:31

No-one has mentioned Michael O’Hare who always comes across well on GBM.
