AIBU to think he's bloody sexy? He's lovely looking and seems to be so nice personality wise too. He can cook! He's certainly making my Sunday afternoon nicer.

OP posts:

His son is adorable - looks like Tom but cute as he’s young.

Omg yes, and they'd find my lack of food and wine knowledge adorable - and each declare me their muse ☺️😏

STOP IT!!. YOU AND @PinataHeeHaw need treatment 😂

I bump into him frequently around Marlow, always says hi and holds the door open when I see him at the gym (we seem to go at the same times), and a couple of weeks ago he was in the pub with another guy and a few kids, he was trying to get the kids to keep the volume down, and as they were all trooping out, he apologised about the noise to my mate and I.

so he seems like a decent enough bloke from what I see day to day.

we’re also regulars in the Coach and he’s often doing the cooking, or at least supervising which is more than a lot of the celeb chefs in Marlow do.

AThousandPiecesInAPuzzle · 20/04/2025 14:45

nope
overweight alcoholics do nought for me

I agree, I also remember an interview he did after he lost a lot of weight he was basically saying that he was now better than obese people, that he would raise healthy children, he was very sanctamonious. Last time I saw him on TV he had gained weight and unfortunately so had his son.

I think he seems nice, but he wouldn’t strike me as attractive, particularly. There’s something of the oversized garden gnome about him, somehow? Mind you, I’m struggling to think of a TV chef I find in any way attractive. Not Jamie ‘Bish Bash Bosh’ Oliver, not Gordon ‘Angry Potato Face’ Ramsay, not Nigel ‘Feathery Stroky’ Slater, not Michel ‘Ooh la la’ Roux, whose Frenchness-performed-for-UK-viewers is a bit unconvincing, not Rick ‘Cornwall is mine’ Stein.

Hahaa I think you are spot on with this.

I don’t find their choice of career sexy either. There’s something about restaurants and churning out of food, however original and delicious that puts me off them.

I don’t mind Nigella who seems to just make stuff for matesIs there a male version of her?

NeilDiamondsBlowDry · 20/04/2025 16:16

@PowderRoom nigel slater looks like he would have halitosis to me

TheGhostOfPatButcher · 20/04/2025 16:16

Nope, he's in the Gregg (double g!) Wallace category of "looks like a thumb".

beetr00 · 20/04/2025 16:16

@Mumblechum0

"he seems like a decent enough bloke"

he's probably riding high on £148 for a family of four eating his fish & chips 😂

mumofoneAlonebutokay · 20/04/2025 14:49

Yanbu! 🤭🤭

He's on Sunday brunch next week

After james martin, he's the next sexiest chef 😄 - I'd maybe chuck Gordon Ramsey and Paul hollywood into the mix too

Gordon Ramsay???!!

I’m straight but do think Nigella is sexy,

Ophy83 · 20/04/2025 16:21

He has a nice accent.

Attractiveness-wise I prefer Marcus Wareing or Michel Roux jr, whose whole face lights up when he eats something he likes (though he is getting on a bit!)

Paul Hollywood winds me up with his handshakes. I was a big fan of the bake off winner who referred to him as "the male judge"

But actually I think I prefer female TV cooks - Nigella, Angela Hartnett and Mary Berry!

TheGhostOfPatButcher · 20/04/2025 16:22

Angela Hartnett is great on Dish! Love her.

I used to live near him and would often see him coming in or out of La Fromagerie in Highbury Barn — he gave off strong ‘Don’t look at me’ vibes, so I didn’t. Didn’t ever get close enough to breath check.

@Letsummercommence, I think Nigella would be fun to go for a drink with. And Nadia Hussain always seems sweet. or you could raise hell with Keith Ffloyd brought back from the dead.

I do have a good friend who’s an award-winning chef, and a great, though quirky and misanthropic person, after 40 years in the kitchen…

How could I have forgotten her! She’s great!

Calliopespa · 20/04/2025 16:24

The original ( and one and only) sexy male chef is Marco.

ETA please note my first name terms. 😘

PowderRoom · 20/04/2025 16:25

DH has just suggested the two sexiest chefs are Raymond Blanc and Giorgio Locatelli.

whatisforteamum · 20/04/2025 16:26

I never liked him when he allegedly said women don't belong in restaurant kitchen they are basically too emotional.
As a chef this is just the sort of stuff I've put up with for decades.
Recently he comes across nicer.I would choose Hugh fernley whittingstall though as he is slimmer and comes across as caring, passionate about food and knowledgeable.

Oh yeah possibly. Second and third after Marco I’d say. Your DH has quite the eye …

I forgot Hugh Fairly-Longname!

Anyone who thinks women are emotional hadn’t met many women. All the flintiest people I know are women.

Was that Marco? Or Tom?

It’s Raymond blanc for me, I think it’s the accent and his passion, he could do filthy things to me and cook amazing food for me after 😂

Ang isn’t emotional. I’d say she’s pretty level.
