Trans protest- sharing for balance

1000 replies

Tandora · 20/04/2025 11:47

There’s a thread sharing some really awful images from the protest, so I wanted to share some positive ones for the sake of some perspective/ balance.
A lot of people are really understandably incredibly angry and overwhelmed by the events of the last few days. But most people who support trans rights absolutely don’t condone fighting oppression and injustice with misogyny.

Picture No 2

How do we know which men are predatory until it's too late?

This is the problem. That's exactly what happened with Katie/Lennon Dolatowski. (Why do I keep referring to that case? Because both crimes involving children happened a short distance from my home - 20 miles in one direction for the voyeurism; 10 miles away for the attempted rape.) After the high profile of the Dolatowski case (and the Peter Laing/Paris Green case before that) we had at least another two male criminals from the area claiming female identity in an attempt to enter the women's prison estate.

The only attempt made by Katie to transition appears to be the use of filters on social media, growing his hair (doesn't look any different from the long hair that I remember from the '70s) and using women's spaces.

The 10 yr old girl (who successfully fought off the attempted rape by punching Katie in the groin) and her family informed police and the local press that they believed Katie Dolatowski to be a man. Nevertheless, Lennon was already Katie at the time of the attacks and felt entitled to use women's spaces.

Dolatowski was placed in a men's prison at one point, but then was moved into the women's estate after beating up another male prisoner. After a short stay, Dolatowski was discharged, but finished up in the male prison estate again a year later.

OP, it is almost as if you are not interested in reading or engaging with my request.

Third time lucky.....

Please can you share the science, which I assume sets out how I, a woman who has gone through periods, pregnancy, C-section, hysterectomy and menopause, am the same as a human who has is so mentally troubled that they have had surgery to remove their healthy penis and testicles and implant fake breasts?

I am interested to read and engage.

@Tandora ??????

So...maybe there is no science then....🤷

This man is a clinical psychiatrist with over 20 years clinical experience treating trans patients

It is well worth a watch as he puts the trans position on a clinical footing and makes some very astute observations based on real world experience.

Thank you for this, an excellent summation by someone who is eminently qualified to make it. ( though people who don't want to hear it will still find a reason to fault it of course)

Why did TRA’s vandalise the Millicent Fawcett statue?

Because they're common or garden incels

Mussolini made the trains run on time, that doesn't make fascism a good thing. Any more than pedalling bullshit without actual threats of violence makes the message "positive".

If the law can't define what a woman is, then yes, women are erased. That's the whole modus operandi and what TRAs are aiming for.

So yes, they do want to erase women. See also the word cis. By referring to biological women as CISwomen, that's making them a subset of their own biolobigal class so transwomen can claim women as their own. This is a huge part of TWAW and why it was so important for the word women to be defined in law.

Hope that helps.

This. Transactivists don’t want women to exist. ‘Literal genocide’ of women to use their phraseology.

Melody32 · 20/04/2025 15:11

Don't need any balance. Trans women aren't women period. A protest won't change the judgment. Fed up of this stuff now. Taking hormone pills, transitioning surgically (many don't), wearing makeup etc doesn't make you a woman. The judgment is the judgment.

Why did TRA’s vandalise the Millicent Fawcett statue?

Because it didn't occur to them not to. A manifestation of the deep disrespect for women that is inherent in the 'movement'.

HornungTheHelpful · 20/04/2025 15:11

Re balance, I quote Aaron Sorkin (Newsroom):

… We don't pretend that certain facts are in dispute to give the appearance of fairness to people who don't believe them. Balance is irrelevant to me. It has nothing to do with the truth, logic, or reality. He didn't go on the air telling people to give peace a chance, but evolution? The jury's back on that one …

"Sex is not binary" is simply wrong.

"Trans women are women" is both misogynistic and wrong.

Where do these people get off, thinking they have the right to redefine the word "woman" to make it mean something that includes them?

I think we all know where they 'get off'

SeedyHotel · 20/04/2025 15:12

And, out of interest, where has the load of bollocks come from that is “predatory men are the problem, not TW” come from?

Have they not seen the offence rate of TW? Barely a week goes by without another being found guilty of some sex crime or other.
I’m not accusing all TW of this, but at the same time I’m not doing the TRA dance avoiding all of the offences.

Have a look at Transcrimeuk.com if you don’t believe me.

I remember a period of time where there were a great many TW informing policies, creating public art, training police, being a vocal part of the Labour Party etc, and one by one every single one was found to be guilty of something really bad, like paedophilia, or having committed domestic violence pre-transitioning, or behaving really badly towards women. Ripx4nutmeg on Twitter (if still there) used to keep track of this.

But if you show these crime statistics you’re accused of basically being Hitler - for being a woman who does not want to share vulnerable spaces with MEN. I mean, fuck off with that shit. Have some loyalty to fucking women!!

Matronic6 · 20/04/2025 15:13

Tandora · 20/04/2025 15:01

It’s a really complex question. I’d be happy to discuss this as with many other subjects, but there’s no place for a civilised conversation when people just keep insisting that transwomen are men and that stating otherwise is a conspiracy to destroy women. If that is the level of where the conversation is it’s impossible to have a reasonable discussion about policy.

Science doesn't lie. A simple blood test can confirm a persons sex. It is a scientific fact.

I do find it a very difficult debate. On one hand I do want Trans people to live their truth and love as they want. A lot of trans women I have seen online sharing their views would not be someone I would even register as potentially not being female if I saw the in a woman's toilet. So I think a lot of trans women will still be able to use the women's toilets.

However I do believe that protection needs to be given to women and girls in female spaces. I was horrified to read the article about the woman who was raped in a hospital ward was told it could not have happened as there were no men on the ward. It's absolute madness this happened. You may say that is only one example, but one is enough for me. The fact is I would not feel comfortable sending my daughter into use a woman's bathroom or changing room of a person with a penis was there. Regardless of how they identify.

But transwomen do deserve safe spaces. They absolutely should be provided the same safeguarding as women but not at the expense of women. We will have to see how that will evolve now that the law has been made clear.

Again:
Katie Dolatowski’s (transwoman)
victim (10 year old girl)
victim’s father - standing outside the toilets.
Do you really think he wouldn’t have followed the TW in if the old social understanding that men stay out of women’s toilets was still applied?

And, for the record, Ministry of Justice figures suggest the proportion of sexual offenders among transwomen is at least as high as it is among men. They don’t’ need to wear a dress to assault women, but it makes it soooo much easier if they can access spaces where women are vulnerable.

I think you are right.

Shame on them.

Superkitty2025 · 20/04/2025 15:16

@Tandora what is the distinction between "cis men" and trans women then? Where does that distinction lie, other than how they feel about themselves? There is zero scientific evidence that a biological male having "the feels" that he's a woman makes him female - it's an identity they're assuming, doesn't make it reality! It's so utterly offensive to women - actual, biological females.

Being female is not a "feeling" and is rooted in actual biological reality, a biological reality that actual females live with every day.

Can't believe that had to be said in 2025!

Exactly. That's what they think, so why wouldn't they? Recent events have provoked them into dropping the mask.

KateShugakIsALegend · 20/04/2025 15:17

VanishingVision · 20/04/2025 14:59

I'd like to add to the points raised here: I personally after alot of thought welcome the ruling. I'm upset that the 'debate' had to become so vile but honestly I found it to be a relief. I was hoping that we would see some clarity and peace but clearly TRAs have decided that a line in the sand has been drawn and I do not support the actions at this protest. They of course have every right to a protest, but the images I've seen have just perpetuated the TRA violence and misogyny that they claim doesn't exist and I genuinely take everything in the media with a hefty dose of salt. I know this doesn't represent all trans people but it doesn't exactly paint a good picture. I don't want the ruling reversed providing trans people are protected in law from discrimination, abuse and harassment.

Trans women are not biological women, trans women are trans women i.e transsexuals and trans man are also transsexuals. The odd trans woman/man using the opposite sex toilet once in a while was likely a workaround that maybe worked for a while in a way, but that has since spilled into a massive overreach that was genuinely caused pain and hurt to women's rights (and women themselves) over the years but it has also failed trans people, whilst enabled misogynistic and violent opportunist men.

Third spaces, where possible are needed. Not everywhere can provide but that's unfortunate. If third spaces were available readily in gyms, swimming pools etc I would actuslly use those places. I don't want to get changed around anyone, men or women. The ruling about single sex spaces does not prevent us from participating in society, providing we are protected In law. This is my perspective as a trans woman.
