Trans protest- sharing for balance

There’s a thread sharing some really awful images from the protest, so I wanted to share some positive ones for the sake of some perspective/ balance.
A lot of people are really understandably incredibly angry and overwhelmed by the events of the last few days. But most people who support trans rights absolutely don’t condone fighting oppression and injustice with misogyny.

Then what word will they graciously allow us to have to describe all female people, which does not include any male people?

They are not biological women. Move on.

@Tandorajust so I’m clear on your position, would you agree that an elderly or Muslim female patient (for example) has the right to choose a biologically female nurse or doctor for intimate examinations?

OP, over 30 years ago I went to a sauna regularly with a friend, there was a transwoman there, clearly feeling a bit anxious and alone. We politely and happily co-existed.

Ten years ago 'Mark' at my work became 'Jane'. I sent them an email if support and went out of my way to chat to them in the ladies.

But I welcome this legislation because:

• no woman who has been raped by a man should be forced to access support in the company of someone with a penis
• women need protection from the 'Isla's' of this world
• women menstruate, breastfeed and have the menopause. None of this needs renaming and it is mind-bendingly crazy to include transwomen in these experiences, or to alter services to include them. If transmen are accessing them, then they are accessing them as women. Simple.

-women playing sports should not compete against trans women. Just not fair.

I support the right to third spaces, and would still not object to peeing next to a gentle person in a dress, trying to live their life. But don't even think about reducing my rights.

Wanting to be a woman is not the same as being a woman, sorry.

I would like to be a billionaire.

Talk to the men about how they can be more inclusive instead.

I don't know how anyone can say "trans women are women" when they refuse or can't define what "trans" is.

That wasn't my aim. The original statement suggested men cannot get breast cancer - it isn't true and undermines the other - true - points. If we're going to argue using science, we have to be accurate.

It is single sex for a reason and once it is single sex it stays that way.. otherwise mix sex would do.
women’s sports comps - prisons - shelters- changing rooms - deservedly single sex.
you want mixed sex then set up a mixed sex club or team.

In single sex world will all the women there be lovely and my best mates ? No but they are all women and have the right to be there.

would your male friend be happier there - who cares ? He’s a man and can use the male versions. Male changing too manly - change it. Male prisons don’t offer make up - change that. Change your space don’t invade ours.

women have been hurt- embarrassed - screamed at- threatened all for stating the law as it has been since 2010 and earlier.

men are men: women are women and nether can change sex.
dress- hair- makeup and plastic surgery does not make a man a woman.

No they didn’t. They said for the purposes of interpreting language under the equality act “woman” means biological female, and “sex” means biological “sex”. As far as I understand but I may be wrong as I confess I haven’t read the full 88 page judgement yet- they did not define biological sex.

And… your statement about sex and gender being the same vis a vis single sex spaces is just wrong, and easily demonstrated as such.

Trans rights would be demanding their own spaces, I would’ve supported that from the beginning. But they were after women’s rights, still are. You still want them to have them.

They can’t be bothered. Clearly it’s too much like hard work.
Plus it’s so much more overpowering to steal from others and so much more fun if they are stealing from women.

It’s ok they didn’t have to case law covers the meaning.

If you’re relying on that as a get out it’s not there.

But they want their women wholly captured or they insult, threaten, attack and rape them.
They have no interest in women with boundaries and regularly create violent slogans and threats towards them.

No they wouldn’t make any more sense because transwomen are men. They cannot change their sex. That’s not an insult. That’s reality. They are not women in any way, shape or form. They’re men.

@Tandora please could you answer my question? I'm genuinely interested in why you think it's OK to prevent transwomen from competing in women's sports categories?

Please listen and debate with the transwomen (and transmen) who have spoken since the SC ruling and say - it won't make a difference to their lives. They work and socialise will no interference or discrimination because they are protected by the equalities act.

They just respect biological women's single sex spaces and boundaries and manage to live their lives happily. If you are not friends with any of these transwomen it might be good for you to reach out to them (often they feel intimidated by activists but you canfind them) and hear why they don't agree with you.

It may be a shock to you but it's isn't just biological women who agree with the SC.

But their existence is a state of feeling, of inner belief, of inner rightness. Just like religious followers. Just like certain people whose whole identity is tied up in being a vegan, being a flat earther, being very beautiful, whatever.

Why are trans women the ONLY group who insist that the whole rest of the world changes everything in order to go along with their inner belief?

Does a trans woman not exist if no-one is there to agree or disagree?
