There’s a thread sharing some really awful images from the protest, so I wanted to share some positive ones for the sake of some perspective/ balance.
A lot of people are really understandably incredibly angry and overwhelmed by the events of the last few days. But most people who support trans rights absolutely don’t condone fighting oppression and injustice with misogyny.

men who have experienced trauma have that brain pattern too so it wasn’t an indicator of anything to do with sex or gender

So where the hell do you get off with your hypocrisy of saying this is fascist?

This was a ruling that was based on law written by Labour in 2010. It hasn't changed like that. The ruling said that the law couldn't possibly make sense if biological sex wasn't the original intention.

The case was brought by a bunch of left wing women.

And yet it's somehow a fascist decision?

Probably because of all the far right slurs, and the guilting by association to try and silence.

If you think you are going to get away with that gross level of hypocrisy, and expect us to take your comments about 'balance' seriously as being fair you really are fucking delusional.

Same. And in fact I started out pro-self ID. I was still languishing in liberal feminism thinking we were supporting a the very small number of people the GRA was designed for. I changed my mind on it, and on quite a lot of things actually. It's presumptuous to assume that people have no other history on this subject.

The TRAs are just another brand of Incel, in reality. Their attitudes to women's rights are every bit as despicable as Andrew Tate et al, just with a different angle.

Has the OP explained yet what makes transwomen women? I mean I’ve read thousands of threads where people claimed that TWAW and no one has been able to convincingly explain why they aren’t men but one can always live in hope.

The science is very simple. A person born with female genitalia is a woman and a person born with male genitalia is a man. End of. A piece of paper or choice of clothes does not change the science.

Obviously it depends on the context. For example - the provision of medical services need to be tailored to treat different people’s different bodies

We don’t consent to sharing single sex spaces. The law now is changing and I’m relieved that it is.

You are welcome to change the behaviour of the male sex class so it’s more accommodating.

Well this is true...we don't need your consent to the reality that women exist as a sex class distinct from men and deserve protections based on that fact.
