Would this bother you.

See my parents maybe 3 x per year, due to distance. My Dc had a party today, so Dh took her so I could stay home with my parents, who then proceeded to go out for a two hour walk, so i’m sat in the house alone, when I could’ve gone to the party and caught up with friends.
It’s the same if we decide to have a day at home if Dd is tired, they go out and don’t really spend time with us.

Aibu to be a bit put out by it?

I wonder if you're like me and my inlaws but in reverse? I go a bit mad and fidgety sitting around all day with no exercise. I do sometimes have to take myself off for a brisk walk when it becomes clear there are no plans to go anywhere. They are in their 80s though!

I am like this we all need our space. MIL used to want us all sitting around the house in front of the TV that FIL was watching loudly all day. You could barely hold or hear a conversation, we were all cramped up on top of each other, the telly was blaring and the coffee wasn’t to my taste (mellow birds or coffee and chicory). I craved fresh air, space, exercise and a decent cup of coffee and chit chat with DP without having to repeat everything three times and explain everything. The kids would be bouncing off the walls if I didn’t get them out for a couple of hours a day but MIL wanted us all in the house for every minute of the weekend.

Ahhh, yes the lack of good coffee would indeed finish me off

I'd appreciate guests going out for a couple of hours a day if they were staying over for 2 weeks. I wouldn't want to spend 2 weeks solid with anyone.
I would also go out for walks myself if I was staying at the home of someone who wanted to stay in. I can't manage a full day indoors, I get really restless.
