Firstly, I'm a trans ally

Everyone is up in arms about trans women. What seems to be forgotten these people are human beings. Where is humanity. You have probably been sharing toilets and coming into contact with trans women every day and have no idea. You only hear about the few bad ones. In a public toilet, you go into a cubical and pee. Its not like you're sat there in full public view with your knickers at your ankles.

What has been forgotten also, as many females are changing to. So trans men. So you're in hospital in a ward. The woman in the next bed, identifys as George, clit is now a penis fully working and you're in the next bed! Same person can wander around female only spaces as the law has changed. George can now only be searched by a female. By the way George a transgender man is a pervert! All hypothetical but nobody has brought this up.

Just a thought.

I was stating the legal ramification of todays ruling, without bias or emotion.
The Supreme Court ruling is not a carte blanche for ‘women only options for everything’ , and most importantly ( at least for your point) it does not prevent transwomen , men, or grizzly bears using the women’s toilets. That isn’t what the equality act is for. It states that everyone should have essentially similar access and opportunity except where a special characteristic overrides this or warrants particular consideration.

Going by the poll, "most of us" is 92%. I think that constitutes a majority.

Oh honey, did you think you could drop by and appeal to female socialisation with a couple of paragraphs of "be kind" and we'd all see the error of our ways and beg forgiveness?

Women do not want men, any men, however they identify, however powerful their girly feels are in our spaces. We cannot trust politicians and the judicial system to protect us and our rights to privacy, safety, dignity and fairness in competitive sport. We tried and were abused whenever we pointed out the problems with allowing some men into our spaces so now the answer is no, don't ask again. Women are human beings too.

There are no hormones, surgery or wishful thinking that can turn a clitoris into a fully functioning penis but you keep pedaling that lie and more confused and distressed young women will die trying to make it happen.

That's right, they just go for something that looks like a bulge and hope it doesn't get infected, atrophy or fall off in the future. There doesn't seem to be the drive to get the plumbing right for transmen.

Trans ally it's lovely that you feel you need to speak, however have you been confronted by a 6ft man wearing a dress demanding he has the right to be in that toilet, even though you are in there your own and haven't spoken? Have you been to a womans rally and had men dressed up with brightly coloured hair shouting about trans rights in your face and pushing you about because you wanted to listen to a woman talking about womans rights? I can tell you it's scary, womans spaces need to be protected

This is so apparent on places like Reddit. For a long time any 'bad news' would have been deleted and the person banned.

Even if it's not a fad and there have been transpeople forever, why does that mean males should be allowed in female single-sex spaces? After all, they've only changed their gender, right?

Women aren't a fad. Women have existed forever. Women have been abused by males forever. Women have every right to uphold their boundaries even if that makes transwomen sad.

I was banned on Reddit because someone posted that banning male athletes from female sports wouldn't help anyone. I simply replied that it would help the women and girls who are competing and deserve fair sports. Banned for hate speech!

Also it is not hating a trans person to point out that they are suffering body dysmorphia or autogynaephilia, so that psychiatric treatment is more likely to help them than going along with their self-delusion. It is actually wanting the best for them.

In practice very few trans men opt for phalloplasty because it has an 85 percent failure rate and even when the operation is successful an erection is only achievable with mechanical support. Trans men are the least of our problems.

What would be really fucking nice is, just for a change, trans-identifying individuals and their allies showed a tiny shred of concern for women.

All women are in danger here. Gay women, women seeking abortion, immigrant women, big burly bald women with elevated testosterone and hair all over them (apart from head) due to medical treatment are affected, selfishly, just like me. And actually, effeminate men who like wearing make up and dresses, but still call themselves men. Everyone is going to affected by this. Don't think this will stop here.

The right to call yourself as you choose is inalienable.

I really hope the madness of the last few years is coming to an end all the pronouns nonsense and calling people like Eddie Izzard she became he's having a day in heels.

Wear a dress, wear a man's suit whatever you like just don't expect people to agree that you've had a sex change.

Because transwomen are men. They commit violence and sex offences at the same rate as other men. The reason you are more likely to know someone raped by a "cis"man is simply because they are the larger group. In the same way you are more likely to know a woman who has been raped by a male driver of any colour car than you are to know someone raped by a man who drives a yellow car.

Having just seen photos and descriptions of Metoidioplasty surgery I feel sorry for anyone who does that to themselves.

So they can pee through it - often standing up - but it's only 4 - 6 cms long (teeny tiny), unattractively pointy and cannot be used for penetrative sex.

So no, not a fully functioning penis. You may be able to pee standing like a bloke, but is that worth all the pain and disfigurement?

The supreme court judgement means that should George or any other transman become pregnant they are eligible for pregnancy and maternity legal provisions. If they were legally male those provisions would not apply to them.
