CIS

Just read an article about the Supreme Court judgement today. It repeatedly refers to Cis women. I get so unbelievably annoyed by that term.

I am not a ‘Cis’ woman. I just hate the term. If you want to be a trans woman, fine. That’s what you are. Don’t make me the other side of your imaginary coin. Don’t make me call myself something I’m not. Don’t make me part of your ‘We’re all just at various points on the woman spectrum’ nonsense.

There are women. And there are trans women. Two entirely different things.

Have you not learned anything in the last 48 hours?

The only people who feel the need to identify as women are people who are actually men.

The rest of us don't identify as women, we just are.

But you innately do identify as being a woman. That is part of you saying I simply am a woman. It is not that hard to imagine that others may feel like you, that there should be no debate as to identity as that is who they are. It's not too hard a thought experiment to grasp.

It's a fucking stupid thought experiment which belongs in the dustbin of history.

Any man who presumes to know how I feel and tell me that he feels the same way and that makes us both women can get knotted, quite frankly.

You sound angry PP. No one has presumed to know how you feel, indeed you vehemently say so. How then can you propose to know how others feel?

Saying you feel like a woman is saying you know how women feel.

No you don't.

You don't know how anyone else feels.

And it's irrelevant, because being a woman has got fuck all to do with feelings and is entirely about biology.

Bogginsthe3rd · 18/04/2025 18:50

You are just repeating yourself now, but missing the point. As a (presumed) cis woman you were born female but also identify as being female.

GetDressedYouMerryGentlemen · 18/04/2025 18:50

@Bogginsthe3rd but that's exactly what men with gender identities do. They declare that they feel like women. Which suggests a) there is a way women feel b) men can know how it feels and feel it too. Madness. As you have just acknowledged no-one can know how someone else (either a group or and individual) feels.

No, I was just born female and I still am female.

What are you not getting?

Do you need me to draw it with crayons?

Why do you just keep repeating incorrect statements? I certainly don’t identify with being a woman. I just am a woman. I have no woman identity as it’s been like that since day dot.

@Bogginsthe3rd If a woman is someone who identifies as a woman, how do we know whether someone in a persistent vegetative state is a man or a woman?

Why are you creeping around intensive care units checking these people? If they have always been a woman there would be no need to presume otherwise.

But they don't identify as anything. They're brain dead.

So we don’t have the right to tell trans people how they do or don’t ‘identify’, but you have the right to label us as ‘cis’

I said "presumed", due to your arguments. Please say if you were not born a woman.

Of course, but what else would you try to prove with a patient in a vegatative state? Were they classified as a woman before their illness, and were they born female? If so then there would be no more issues. This isn't really a realistic scenario.

lnks · 18/04/2025 19:06

Did you mean to quote me or someone else?

I am a woman, not cis or any other label you want to assign to me. I am simply a woman who believes in science

For the THIRD time of asking please describe innate feelings.

Go down in history as the first person to do so.

Yes meant to quote you in reply, as you had quoted me. Cis is only a describing word, which aids in clarification. One you can freely use or not use.

So being a woman is defined by how you feel, except when it isn't?

How convenient.

I wasn't born a woman so you can stop telling me I'm cis.

I was born female. But wasn't a woman as a woman is a adult human female. Luckily for mum I wasn't a fully grown adult at birth.

How are you proposing asking how the comatose patient feels? Poke em' with a stick?

Finally something we can all agree on.
