Finally.

There is no “triumph” for me.

i am delighted though.
I feel relief that this reasonable request for clarity has been heard.

The judge also said “the law still gives trans people protection against discrimination.”

As it should do. No one ever argued otherwise.

Excellent decision

Excellent decision

Yes, and important, but also weirdly depressing. It’s like the SC having to confirm that, yup, gravity is still a thing.

LivelyFinch · 16/04/2025 10:14

Thank goodness. Now sanity might prevail.

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 16/04/2025 10:15

Wild that it had to even reach this stage but common sense has finally prevailed. Brilliant.

Walkinginthesandagain · 16/04/2025 10:17

Brilliant! Feeling emotional.

Such an important decision for women and girls. And for the laws of the land - enshrining a lie that a man can magically become a woman belittles truth, facts and science.

So many thanks to For Women Scotland, Sex Matters, the LGB Alliance & the Lesbian Project for their contributions to this case and to every single woman (and man) who's spoken up in any way - no matter how small - to restore the rights of women and girls to privacy and safety. Flowers

FortyElephants · 16/04/2025 10:22

Thank fuck for that

FuzzyPuffling · 16/04/2025 10:22

Hurrah.That is right and proper.

FOJN · 16/04/2025 10:22

Relieved rather than jubilant.

TheKeatingFive · 16/04/2025 10:23

Thank god for that. But yes, the astonishing thing is that it was needed at all. We live in the age of crazy.

LittlerCharlotte · 16/04/2025 10:24

FOJN · 16/04/2025 10:22

Relieved rather than jubilant.

This, exactly this. I'm relieved, not celebrating.

CallMeBettyBoop · 16/04/2025 10:26

Thank Goodness for that. At last, logic and truth prevails.

DoddlesMcDoddle · 16/04/2025 10:29

This is so FUCKING FANTASTIC! So now Fife NHS are fucked. This is great news. Transwomen are not women and never were and never will be. Women are Adult Human Females. And transwomen not to be in female spaces. I think we'll be headed for third spaces/categories/definitions; male, female, and gender neutral. Which is WHAT WE ASKED FOR, FOR YEARS but trans rejected it. Too bad for them now, hah!

#Up the women!
#Womens Rights Are Human Rights!
#Feminist REVOLUTION!!!

It was an enlightening moment. After all those posts on all those threads where we were told that woman means anything that some one wants it to mean for any purpose.

I look forward to the next months of threads now.

inkognitha · 16/04/2025 10:32

I totally understand why some are just relieved but I am gonna do a little happy dance anyway :)

MrsBennetsPoorNerves · 16/04/2025 10:32

The triumph of common sense over nonsense.

This verdict helpfully confirms the legal basis for what we all already knew.

AnSolas · 16/04/2025 10:33

Imagine a UK judge has to rule that humans come in one of two sexual reproduction classifications.
Or that people elected by the community dont have a right to pass laws to force the community to pretend that humans can change sex.
🦧

Helleofabore · 16/04/2025 10:34

I look forward also to seeing the next stage of the fight to reprioritise the needs of female people and children so they are no longer deprioritised by gender identity.

AgnesNaismith · 16/04/2025 10:35

Does this mean we can call ourselves women now…and not female people? I would like that.

Helleofabore · 16/04/2025 10:36

I now wonder what the impact will be on the two cases with the nurses? And the male dart player? And the new male hockey player case.

MidnightPatrol · 16/04/2025 10:36

I was very interested (and engaged) in this debate but had to step away from it, for my own sanity, and because it was toxic.

I have never seen such abuse against women for simply stating facts, and wanting to defend their own hard won rights.

We knew this all along of course - but we are women because of our sex, not our ‘gender identity’.

I would too! I would like to not be deleted again for saying someone is a man or boy when they are a male person.

OneAvidHazelQuoter · 16/04/2025 10:37

Wohooooo!

Thankfully.

StopGo · 16/04/2025 10:38

So a man has sat in judgement of who I am?
