What threads do you always hide?

If any!

If I scroll through and see anyone ask about accountancy help, HMRC advice, tax return, accounts etc I just hide them. I can't stand seeing 90% of the "advice" on those threads being absolute bollocks.

I used to hide the divorce ones when I was going through mine, I didn't want extra headspace going into it.

Yes. We will have to share bathrooms with people that are men. Nice job, TERFS.

Trans men are females. And I beg your pardon, I’m a MERF not a TERF.

TheKeatingFive · 16/04/2025 11:51

Can I just remind everyone on this thread that no human can ever change sex.

Willoo · 16/04/2025 11:53

I don’t hide threads but I do hide topics. Well, only the feminism one as that one is insane

SummerDaysOnTheWay · 16/04/2025 11:53

Murdered or dead children threads

Yeah those crazy feminists looking out for the rights of women & girls eh?! 🙄😆

DaisyDooordont · 16/04/2025 11:57

I tend to hide the ones that are just basically moaning about shit husbands. That type of thread irritates the fuck out of me. Because whether the OP is being unreasonble or not, its just a post to whine about someone and I cant be bothered with it. I go to the effort of hiding because I don't want the thread to keep appearing on the Trending tab.

I also hide the ones that get thousands of responses and the OP seems to be lapping it up/or I think it's fake. E.g. the recent one with the woman whos' footballer boyfriend went to a strip club. Hide them for the same reason as above.

It saves my eyes the tension of constant rolling 😂

The only category I’ve ever hidden was Brexit before the vote. I dismissed them as deranged fantasists and was sure nobody in their right mind would vote to leave the EU.
How wrong I was…

This is a bit of a cautionary tale, isn't it?

menopausalfart · 16/04/2025 11:43

@AllProperTeaIsTheft The reason I don't stop and read the comments is because of the hate that's directed towards me. Your arguments always fall flat.

My only arguments are 1) People can't change sex 2) Statistically, women and girls suffer large amounts of violence and abuse from male-bodied people and 3) Male puberty and usually slso bidy mass give men an unfair advantage over women in most sports.

None of those are actually arguments though, they are facts.

menopausalfart · 16/04/2025 12:10

Laws or societal norms will not stop determined abusers and harassers. Abuse and harassment are already illegal.
I've not seen any evidence to suggest that trans women have an unfair advantage in sports.
People can and have changed sex, whether you like it or not, makes no difference.

This is utter nonsense 🫠

You don’t think males have an unfair advantage over women in sports? Really? So why are sports sex segregated?

No, humans cannot change sex. It doesn’t matter whether I or anyone else likes it or not. It is a fact.

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 16/04/2025 12:15

That's hilarious, frankly.

TheKeatingFive · 16/04/2025 12:15

It wont stop everyone, but that doesn't mean we throw our hands up and make it easier for men to abuse and harass women.

Locking your door at night won't stop
all burglars, but that doesn't mean you're going to throw it open instead, now does it?

TheKeatingFive · 16/04/2025 12:16

I'd love to see who these individuals are that the PP thinks have changed sex 🤔

Mylegishangingoff · 16/04/2025 12:17

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 16/04/2025 09:43

Exactly. I can't help but think that hiding threads is a small symptom of the apparent modern belief that people (adults and children) need to be kept 'safe' by never having to encounter anything they dislike or disagree with. That's not safety. It's arguably really dangerous for the future of humanity.

Tbh for me it's nothing at all with being 'kept safe' I just find it all boring as hell. It's the same thing repeated in 100s of threads, the same thing said 100 different ways and it's been going on for years. I don't want to see it, it doesn't interest me, just like pregnancy threads don't interest me or threads about London. It's obviously some peoples special interest but lots of us really just don't have the interest to read the same thing over and over. So it's not that I can't stand to see something I dislike it's that it's boring af and I only have so many free hours in a day, why would I waste it on that!?

menopausalfart · 16/04/2025 12:17

Should we DNA test everyone to see who has an unfair advantage? If you're worried about sport, then surely we should go the whole hog and test everyone. That way, we can be sure that it's a fair race.

TheKeatingFive · 16/04/2025 12:17

To be fair, you couldn't read everything on here even if you wanted to

What exactly are you arguing for? No sex segregation in sports at all?

menopausalfart · 16/04/2025 12:20

You're the one talking about unfair advantages.

Is that aimed at me? When did I talk about that?

But to go back to the question I asked, are you therefore advocating to abandon sex segregation in sport entirely?

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 16/04/2025 12:22

menopausalfart · 16/04/2025 12:20

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe · 16/04/2025 12:25

maddening · 13/04/2025 19:16

Oh all threads are for all of us and your question in your op includes "if any"

The fact you need to hide threads says more about you than the threads you hide and the fact you try to suggest anyone leaves this threads just adds to that.

By the same criteria you're using then the OP was allowed to start the thread and didn't deserve you referring to that as 'weird'. It says quite a lot about you that you jumped on just to do that rather than answering the actual question.

==

OP, Royal board for me, every time. I'm amazed that the threads on Harry and Meghan are left to stand but, sign of the times, nothing is like it was.

This isn't the only board/platform that does that. The board here is quite exclusive and it's not that engaging. I've posted on it a handful of times, I read it sometimes but I think it's a bit 'up itself'.

Most Mnetters don't disagree that TWAM or that men should be prohibited from women's single sex spaces. Far from it as the current thread in AIBU demonstrates.

It's not the topic that is disagreeable.
