Wanting to look good and be a 10/10 girl? Men specifically?

People always criticise others for caring about their looks, but let's face it, we all appreciate beauty and strive to look our best.

I feel as though most women can be seen as '10/10' if they have good hygiene and skin/make up, i.e the whitened teeth, hair extensions, glowy fake tan, slim and big breasts.

I feel like I have a few obvious flaws; small boobs is the main one, but also teeth and hair that could be 'glowed up'.

I see that 95% of the women on TikTok on Instagram with 100 - 500k followers are just slim, tanned women with big boobs. All different facial features, but heavily made up, thin and big boobs.

Am I being unreasonable to want to make myself look hotter by fixing my flaws?

I would make any decision for surgery for myself anyway, but I just wonder what peoples' thoughts are!

No, it's easier to loon decent but not 10/10. True beauty is still pretty rare.

I think my question op is why do you think that's the definition of what looks "good". People (and men are People too) all have different types... I think the difference is you're getting mixed between more provocative images which normally do involve a bit of "fakery" and other types of attractiveness. I think men are maybe hardwired to respond to the provocative nature of certain images but wouldn't necessarily date or respect or be attracted to women who look like that in real life. I agree that you need to do some work on your self esteem and ask yourself why you're so focused on attracting a male gaze.

Probably but remember most of those insta women don't look like their image online either.

It’s sad that you feel you need plastic tits, inflated lips etc etc but it’s up to you.

sounds a bit like a blow up sex doll

OP, you need a man who will love you for you and want to have sex with you to be close to you, the person. Why would you want to look like a person who has obviously had work done? I don't think that's ever a good look.

My DH prefers more natural looking women and, while I may be wrong, my understanding was that most men actually do. That said, I don't have to change myself for any man. If a man doesn't love me as I am, he's not worth it.

I don't want to look like I've obviously had work done, I just want good quality, natural looking breast implants, which do exist, because I only have small ones. There are women who are slim but with naturally large breasts, those are the 'natural' women men like. I sadly just have hip and butt.

I don't believe that peoples' self worth is about what they look ike, but I still want to be desirable while I'm quite young nonetheless and I don't think that's a problem.

Striving for perfect eventually leads to you having uncanny valley face and exaggerated extremities.

That is 100% true, I know lots of Facetune and Bodytune goes on (I've seen it), but they are all still slim with large breasts, that's the common feature. The do edit their bodies, waist, hips, smoothing skin, filtering face etc, though..

As someone who is slim with big boobs I would say a lot of men like are more into big bums. I am also tall with long legs but some men like short women. 🤷🏻‍♀️

sharkanado · 05/04/2025 01:39

obviously get fake boobs if you want but I don't think they will necessarily bring you what you think they will.

BruFord · 05/04/2025 01:39

@ThisChic Your body, your choice.

But I can tell you that men can still desire and love women who aren’t 10/10-it amazes me how much my DH still wants my 50-year-old less-than-perfect body, I sometimes wish he was less interested tbh. 😂

I guess it depends on what you think is 'true beauty'. If you go by what hundreds of thousands of men on Instagram and TikTok like and comment on, it is slim with large breasts. The faces all look different, although with make up and filtering that is distorting them a bit as well.

I do see your point though.

Of course. This 10/10 idea didn't really exist back in the 80s/90s I don't think, it seems to be more recent.

You can have both though. No man looks at woman who he doesn't find appealing and thinks, "I'd like to sleep with her". Men have physical attraction, it's impossible to deny it.

Oh but they do.

Men will sleep with women of all shapes, sizes, big boobs, little boobs, long hair, short hair, no hair.

Men will even sleep with women they shock horror find fat and “ugly”.

It’s not about looks for men. If they want casual sex then they will literally go for any woman they deem easy enough and “up for it”.

Have you never met a man before?

I don't think they'll bring me eternal happiness, I'm not stupid. But that's not what they're intended to do; they're just there to improve my body and make me look sexy, alluring.

I'm not going for the hard, super round, super high on the chest type. There are good implants nowadays.

With that attitude you’ll be anything but sexy and alluring hen 🤣🤣🤣🤣

@sharkanado I know there are some bum men, but I do think that more British/American men go for breasts. Look at all the hype around Sydney Sweeney right now, even though there have been men saying her face is weird.

Beauty is about the face for me.

Surely if you look at TikTok lots of men with 6 packs etc will have hundreds of thousands of women liking their photos, it's not really reality.

I agree, I also think facial beauty is the most important, but so many men seem to be swayed by boobs on Tiktok! They like what they like..... and if you're a straight woman, it's mens' opinions on beauty that count.

Guys with six packs edit their content too....making themselves look more defined etc etc. I don't care about following them, I'm not even into the griddle abs look!

@ThisChic Look up the film “10” made in 1979!

Moopsie · 05/04/2025 01:50

High physical standards for women compared with men definitely existed when I was a teenager in the 90s and into my 20s in the early 00s. Women like Samatha Fox, Linda Lusardi and then Kelly Brook and Jordan (Katie Price) were everywhere because of magazines like Nuts and Zoo and The Sun’s page 3 and it was totally acceptable for mechanics to publicly display calendars of naked women in their business. It was a time of peak female objectification.

I think many of us just rather hoped we’d moved beyond that to a place where women had a more equitable standing based on personality and intellect. We’ve fought hard enough for it.

Yes, I've heard of guys sleeping with women they deemed 'rough looking' for one night stands.

But they prefer and are more turned on by women they find hot.

Edited

Your attitude is that being slim and having big boobs is what is deemed “beauty” and will make men fancy you and want to sleep with you.
Your attitude is that conventionally attractive young women in their 20’s who are social media influencers are something to aspire to look like because they get comments from pervy creeps saying 10/10.

That is so fucked up honestly. You need real psychological help for this.

As a fellow 30 year old woman with natural 32E’s and size 8/10- I can hand on heart say big boobs are nothing special and I get lots of unwanted unsolicited misogynistic comments from men - but so do my friends of all shapes and sizes.

Your comments and view on “beauty” is so damaging to society. You are making a mockery out of women.

Stop looking at yourself with the ‘male gaze.’ Do you really want to be evaluated out of ten by strangers?
