Is the floral dress and white trainers look out?

So it’s been really nice as we all know. My go to for work is the floral dress and white trainers and I was told by my younger colleague this look is “out”

I know it doesn’t matter as long as you like what you wear, but I’m also conscious of not looking stylish but keeping my look “fresh”

yeah I've found Halloween is a bad time to wear them as well, people think I'm a ghost

I'm in the north west and wore sandals half a dozen times last year - it was too cold most of last summer.

I don’t want to be a clone though. There are a multitude of other things to wear other than floral dress and white trainers.

Technically it’s out but who cares. I’ll continue with my dress / trainers / denim jacket thank you very much haha

Here’s me sat in the garden in a floral dress and trainers because for the last 40 years I have worried about how others see me. Now at 48 I could not give a toss. If my kids tell me I can’t wear something I wear it more.
If others have an issue they don’t need to look at me.

Dont know why anyone cares. Wear what suits you, full stop.

Yes they are out. Strappy sandals and pumps are in for summery weather and ankle boots for alternative weather.

Do people genuinely go through their wardrobe every year and decide whether something is still in or out?

I’m sure we’ve all looked at others outfits and thought, oh that looks great or equally, that’s not something I would wear but do people honestly judge other women’s outfits so much that it makes them ‘eye roll’? If so, it says more about you than the woman wearing a floral dress and white trainers!

I'm well past my trendy youth, but even I know the trainers/floral dress thing has had its day. And white trainers in particular mark you out as well out of touch. Sorry.

I'm on a girls weekend away this weekend and was planning on wearing a leopard print casual ish dress and WHITE trainers with a denim jacket... this thread has terrified me now 🤣🤣

You could swap your trainers for some red or green ones which would go nicely with leopard print. And I think denim jackets are still “in” if darker denim and a different fit.

Dress for your shape and vibe not the current most up to date style. That's how to appear timeless and classy. Kate Middleton doesn't switch it up every season.

You could update the trainers to a neutral colour, get a new jacket maybe. But dress and trainers is easy, comfortable and suits most people

I love a leopard print dress! I have a H&M one that I have had for years and it comes out every spring. Might break it out this weekend 😂

I live in white trainers and have done for the past 20 years, wear them with everything! If they are out then I’m glad as I hate looking on “trend” lol

Personally I don’t really like florals. But I like a plain dress with trainers. Cross body bags are practical and a denim jacket is a classic. I think you can wear any of those things and look just fine but if you want to look ‘fresh’, maybe not all together.

Men definitely don’t get this level of angst about what they wear though 🙄
