To think this photo is not appropriate to advertise a dress?

Is it just my raging feminist thoughts with this photo that is being used as one of the pictures of a dress offered for sale on a high street store website. Is this appropriate? I don't think it is but one might say that that is my weird view and actually it is a perfectly okay pic? (!)
I think it looks like a 'come fuck me' picture and that is not okay?!

Confused I think it looks like someone on a toilet.

Ineffable23 · 21/03/2025 18:50

I mean it mainly just looks very oddly proportioned. I don't think the photo itself is much of an issue though.

MemorableTrenchcoat · 21/03/2025 18:51

Come fuck me? That awkward, unflattering pose does not strike me as particularly alluring.

MissMoneyFairy · 21/03/2025 18:51

Her enormous feet are the first thing I noticed

ChompandaGrazia · 21/03/2025 18:52

It does nothing to advertise the dress, you can’t see the length or shape, but I don’t get the angst.

I think you're mad.

Thirteenblackcat · 21/03/2025 18:52

It’s not a good way to show off the dress is it?

my daughter said it looks likes she’s going for a wee

LadyKenya · 21/03/2025 18:53

I would have thought that it was the shoes that are being advertised.

MintTwirl · 21/03/2025 18:53

I like the shoes. I don’t find the picture inappropriate at all.

sweeneytoddsrazor · 21/03/2025 18:53

Snap @MissMoneyFairy

Ilovelowry · 21/03/2025 18:53

I think it looks great. And I like the outfit.

I mean, it's not very flattering but it's hardly offensive Confused

TomatoSandwiches · 21/03/2025 18:54

I think you've lost your mind.

McQueensMuse · 21/03/2025 18:54

I don’t find the picture offensive.
It does remind me of how men sit on public transport though.

Chellybelle · 21/03/2025 18:54

It doesn't look sexual in the slightest to me. A woman sitting with her legs slightly open doesn't mean they want sex, you know. I actually find you anti feminist to assume that.

Poppyseeds79 · 21/03/2025 18:55

Proportions look so off... Besides that it's fine

Anotherparkingthread · 21/03/2025 18:55

Surely it says more about you than the product/company if you're actively looking for issues on something so trivial and mundane.

Her feet look massive tho lol

Edited

Immediately underneath this post MN chose to advertise something for weak bladder control.
😀

ThePoliteLion · 21/03/2025 18:56

I’m with you OP. I don’t like it.

Sassybooklover · 21/03/2025 18:56

If the picture is advertising the dress, then it's doing a poor job! You can't see the shape, length or even any detail on the dress. As for the supposed 'come fuck me' pose, all I see is a weird angle, that makes the model look like she has unnaturally long legs and huge feet!! 🤷 There's nothing remotely sexy about the picture.

KrisAkabusi · 21/03/2025 18:57

She looks too grumpy to be selling something, but I can't see anything inappropriate about it.

sonjadog · 21/03/2025 18:57

The proportions are interesting as her feet look huge, but apart from that, I wouldn't think anything about it. I don't see a sexual side to it at all. "Man on public transport" is more like it, I reckon.

BendyLikeBeckham · 21/03/2025 18:58

I'm with you OP. It's trying to look raunchy which is ridiculously objectifying in this context, but somehow manages to look like 'depressed Emo lady on toilet with GIANT LEGS'
