Actually this description is my Dad’s last friend actually - she was 58 when they met - even though I didn’t deliberately base it on her

Female. 5ft 6. 11 stone. Size 12. Size 5 feet.
Blonde but dyed auburn, long curly hair, blue eyes. Non smoking, wine drinking, 46. Loves dogs and all animals. Not sensible. Spontaneous, fun loving.
Reading slightly like a dating profile 😆

JollyViper · 01/02/2025 21:35

Owns a roka bag.....

PeriPeriMam · 01/02/2025 21:36

Intelligent. Funny. Earns above minimum wage, average professional salary, but claims to earn 120k. Doesn't know why she does that, but it passes the time of day

Doggymummar · 01/02/2025 21:38

I'm 55 size 14 size 4 feet long blonde hair. Live in sweater dresses and knee boots for work and skinny jeans and Chelsea boots for weekends and dog walking.

I imagine the average erage mumsnetter is about 35 good career, nice house 2 kids with a dog. Two cats and an ex husband somewhere he co parents a bit crappily. Well groomed. Loads of friends electric car.

wizzywig · 01/02/2025 21:39

White Female. Degree educated. Lives in the south east. Got married then had children. Wears functional clothes. Is ready for any eventuality: kids need a 10ft chicken costume? Done!.

belives that kids become fully functioning adults when they turn 18 to go to a RG uni. But if they are having a hard time getting to that RG uni, then they say that the brain isn't fully formed til they are 25.

Is slim. Only does hair removal for holiday's (in Europe) and likes reading and crosswords.

FrankoferrisWheelieBin · 01/02/2025 21:41

I imagine a slim, tall, white woman in her late 40s to early 50s who has teens and a dog. She loves wine and a food snob.
I imagine her ginger with hazel eyes. Big breasts.
She used to smoke and was very wild but is now part time just to keep herself busy.
She has a boozy lunch with her girlfriends every couple of weeks. She is always dieting.

Devilgate · 01/02/2025 21:43

Also - not overweight or unhealthily thin

OP posts:
Catza · 01/02/2025 21:46

I always imagine a slightly neurotic middle aged woman. A bit of a busybody, a bit overweight, frazzled, hates dogs and most of hers and her husband's extended family. Constantly obsessed with whether people are rude and is unable the assert any kind of boundaries.

JazzyJelly · 01/02/2025 21:46

What.

Youcanttakeanelephantonthebus · 01/02/2025 21:49

I imagine her sitting at a wooden table in a large farmyard kitchen that has a 'perfect triangle'. She is eating a massive salad with leftover chicken from the last week, it's already done 72 meals for the DC. She has a boden shirt and blue chino type trousers, good boots. She genuinely calls her DC 'daaahling' and is just about to go off and watch dc's football match in a Janelle coat while her borish dh buggers off for another 6 hour essential trip for his hobby.

Headingtowardsdivorce · 01/02/2025 21:49

I don't think there is a typical mumsnetter and I roll my eyes when someone starts talking about the women and men who post on here as though they're all the same and think the same.

MrsSethGecko · 01/02/2025 21:56

I'm nearly six feet tall, quite fat, live in a council flat, wear whatever I like the look of on Vinted that doesn't cost more than a tenner, small fat feet, hair that needed washing two days ago, had a serious drug habit ten years ago, no car, minimum wage job, no husband, don't want one, a roast chicken lasts about ten minutes round here.

I don't know what I think anyone else here looks like.

chollysawcutt · 01/02/2025 22:02

Really slim. Teeny-tiny in fact, because spends a lot of time shaking and crying (hence uses up energy). Plus, has greedy husband who eats all the meal-planned food (his and her share). Nervous demeanor (doesn't like answering doors or telephone). Quietly spoken and drippy (doesn't like confrontation). Tired-looking, as run ragged by 'gorgeous' twins who are often in trouble at school or need new plimsolls or have disowned her for no discernible reason. Also tired because has to look after a niece or nephew (maybe both) for feckless family members. Quite fit because she has a dog she walks - or alternatively has no dog because she hates them.

wizzywig · 01/02/2025 22:04

@MrsSethGecko as long as you never answer your front door when unexpected people turn up, you're fine

wizzywig · 01/02/2025 22:06

@chollysawcutt was the dog originally the husband's first wife's? And she has been roped in to walk it?

chollysawcutt · 01/02/2025 22:12

@wizzywig ha, no the dog is actually untrained and belongs to a 'family member' who insists on bringing it to stay on high days and holidays and the Mner can't form the words 'don't' because her mouth is glued shut (or somesuch) and so ends up looking after it. For a year.

PizzaPunk · 01/02/2025 22:16

Short brown curly hair
Plump
Frumpy Boden dress or creased white linen trousers
Mid-forties

It's mad really because I look nothing like that myself and I can only wish I was still in my mid-forties! 👀🤣

But that's how I imagine most MNetters.

ExercicenformedeZ · 01/02/2025 22:22

While I voted that YABU, your description is actually dead on for me, minus the grey hair.
I like to think of myself as young, but I am 42 so if I'm honest I'm early middle aged.
I'm five eight, with size 7 feet.
I love a good trouser suit, although I do love very feminine looks as well. I'm obsessed with style and have far too many clothes.
I have never smoked and I quit drinking five years ago, just before the pandemic. I am very healthy, slim but very strong. I have a good, sensible, balanced diet: I don't obsess about UPFs the way some Mumsnetters do, but I tend to avoid junk. I'm not vegetarian or vegan as that would be very unhealthy for me.

overthinkersanonnymus · 01/02/2025 22:24

Quite tall and broad shoulders, averagely attractive and middle aged spread.

Lots of maxi skirts and cardigans.

Look down on people who don't have "big jobs".

Houses that are cluttered with wooden floors tatty book shelves , crochet blankets and high ceilings.

Middle class bores.

But I do also recognise the odd norther lass with a good sense of humour and I imagine they're a bit rough. Like me 😂

Drearycommuter · 01/02/2025 22:24

Slim, active, educated, attractive, straight, married with kids, middle class high earner or sahm, Home Counties, doesn’t invest in friends - has acquaintances but none they’d go out of their way for, highly strung. Barely drinks doesn’t smoke.

ExercicenformedeZ · 01/02/2025 22:25

Oh, and left wing people think I'm a complete tory, while right wingers think I'm woke. So, a centrist.

Iudncuewbccgrcb · 01/02/2025 22:28

Emma Willis

bumblefeline · 01/02/2025 22:29

45-50 blonde hair. Dressed like a French woman. Size 6-8 never been fat as we have lost sight of what normal weight is.

Head is at a permanent tilt, always tinkly laughing.

Tourmalines · 01/02/2025 22:30
