There really isnt a typical mumsnetter. Going from what you read on here some are obese some are very fit, some are in high paid jobs some on benefits. Some have happy family relationships many don't. Some shop in Primark some in posh places.
The one thing we all have in common is most are female. That's about it.

To be fair … this is so true

I think there are an army of overweight chocolate eating women who are truculent in their bloody loving wearing leggings and skinny jeans no matter what anyone says about ‘fashion’ , and they are judgy and condemnatory about most people whilst rigorously defending everything about primark leggings and double carbing.
there are also a tranche of chippy women who are quite thin but not in a glamorous way and resent pretty middle class women. The icing on the cake is a bunch of happier more affluent women who can be amusing and thoughtful whilst seeming financially incontinent.

This is so interesting! I don't imagine a 'typical Mumsnetter' but I do picture what posters are like based on their username and posting style. I bet I'm totally wrong most of the time!

I reckon she’s around 5ft7, brunette, late 30s, size 14-18 (her wardrobe has various sizes because of yoyo dieting), 3 kids (young and daft- trapped her fella with the first, planned the second, ‘surprise’ third baby- but really hubby was cheating and she knew it would get him back in the game mentally). DH that’s conventionally attractive but a dick head (she is mediocre but nice enough), school hours job that fits around the kids, married young and bloody miserable but.. that’s life in her circle. Likes Gary Barlow, Facebook and Disney. Rarely gives blow jobs. Drinks rosè. Nice middle class house though. Loves her girly nights out, lab and poodle mix dogs and her ‘worldies/babies’ (kids) 😉

I think the fact that there is no 'typical' Mumsnetter is one of the strengths of this forum, and in particular the AIBU board.

I post here to get a variety of opinion, and I read threads because they reflect diverse experiences. Other boards may mean people are more likely to have something in common, but again, there is no 'typical' poster.
