To be really glad I don't live in America right now

AnonymousBleep · 31/01/2025 09:57

I really feel for ordinary Americans. It's bad enough on this side of the Channel, hearing daily about Trump's latest petty, spiteful, idiotic bullshit - that rant against the Bishop who asked him to have mercy on immigrants, the ridiculous and insulting attempt to blame 'diversity' for the plane crash - but living under it must be so much worse. And heaven help you if you're LGBT or a woman. Or an immigrant. Or not white. Or poor. Or anyone else Trump and his freakshow of a government despises. I moan about the UK all the time, like everyone else who lives here, because god knows it's far from perfect, but at least we don't have a government in charge who is trying to strip huge swathes of the population of their rights and citizenship.

It does not matter.

Everyone has a sex, one, or the other.

Some spaces, bathrooms and changing rooms are segregated strictly by sex.

No objections

no exceptions

no ifs

no buts

Males in the mens

females in the ladies.

You have not yet told me of the three chromosomal, gonadal, or anatomical sex takes precedence.
Go on, tell me which of the three takes precedence? Her appearance as you quoted above or her chromosomes?
Also tell me what your quals are. What do you have a degree in?

SernieBanders · 07/02/2025 09:55

The dictionary. Sex is binary and defined by whether you're set up to produce large or small gametes. Everyone with a DSD is set up to make one or the other and is male or female.

Or neither. Many intersex individuals can't produce either.

ByQuaintAzureWasp · 07/02/2025 10:18

Or South Africa, especially if you have HIV/AIDS.

It does not matter if you are fertile or not

An 8 year old girl is infertile - still female

A woman with a hysterectomy is still female

a 90 year old woman, is infertile and releasing no eggs - she is still female

Male or female is coded into your genes at conception and is binary

You have no qualifications.

MeTooOverHere · 07/02/2025 10:18

You say everyone is either male or female. You don't accept broader biology authorities but insist we only consider humans. So I am providing an example of one individual who is not neatly male or female.

When determining sex, there isn’t a simple hierarchy that can be universally applied across all cases, but the chromosomal sex typically takes the highest precedence in biological classification. Here’s how each of these factors plays a role:

  1. Chromosomal Sex (Genetic Sex): This is usually the first and most definitive determinant of biological sex. At conception, an individual’s sex is determined by the chromosomes inherited from the parents: XX for females and XY for males. The presence or absence of the Y chromosome, specifically the SRY gene on it, triggers the development of male characteristics. If the Y chromosome is present (XY), the person will typically develop male gonads (testes), and if it’s absent (XX), the person will typically develop female gonads (ovaries).
  2. Gonadal Sex (Testes vs. Ovaries): Gonadal sex refers to whether the individual develops testes or ovaries. In most cases, the presence of the Y chromosome and SRY gene leads to the development of testes, which then secrete male hormones (androgens) that guide the development of male anatomical traits. In the absence of the Y chromosome (XX), ovaries develop, which, in turn, produce female hormones (estrogens) leading to the development of female anatomical traits.
  3. Anatomical Sex (Phenotypic Sex): This is the external physical manifestation of sex, including genitalia and secondary sexual characteristics (e.g., body hair, breast development, etc.). Anatomical sex typically follows gonadal sex; for example, testes will lead to the development of male genitalia, and ovaries will lead to female genitalia. However, this can be influenced by factors like hormone exposure or receptor function (as seen in conditions like androgen insensitivity syndrome).
  4. Genes (SRY Gene, Others): While chromosomal sex largely dictates the course of development, specific genes are responsible for sexual differentiation. For example, the SRY gene on the Y chromosome plays a key role in initiating male development. There are also other genes and regulatory elements that contribute to gonadal and anatomical differentiation. In some cases, individuals may have genetic mutations that affect their sexual development (e.g., mutations in the AR gene leading to androgen insensitivity), which can result in discrepancies between chromosomal sex and anatomical sex.

In a typical biological scenario, chromosomal sex takes precedence as it sets the foundation for subsequent development. Gonadal and anatomical sex follow this chromosomal blueprint, with genes playing a critical role in this developmental process. However, intersex conditions, where discrepancies occur between chromosomal, gonadal, and anatomical sex, highlight the complexity and variability in how biological sex can be expressed.

He - is male. Thats the entire point

He is male. No arguments. No in-betweens. He is male. He has CAIS. We already went over this. Do you read?

Also - we are only talking about humans. Just people ok?

MeTooOverHere · 07/02/2025 10:21

SernieBanders · 07/02/2025 10:13

YES

BECAUSE THEY ARE MALE

Can you read?

I've said it like 25 times

Which of the three chromosomal, gonadal, or anatomical sex takes precedence? You admit some people may be raised female though XY. So which of the three takes precedence?
I am not talking TRANS, I am talking INTERSEX.

Probably some American thing.

Apologies. I've no idea if it originated in the US- you're the one using the term restroom so I was assuming you were from the US? "Restroom" is not a word I've ever heard used in the UK.

It means "trans rights activist", to save you valuable googling time.

I know how they relate, what I want to know is which one takes precedence? You actually think a person who has been raised female and socialised female has to use men's restrooms because of XY chromosomes? Is that your final answer?

EasternStandard · 07/02/2025 10:29

@MeTooOverHere I don't think the complexities of DSDs necessitate gender ideology. However a medical team determines sex for a complex case can be separate to requiring any gender ideology.

So no need for the latter and DSD situations can still be assessed.

Why aren’t we all talking about how similar this all is to pre war Germany???

Oh I know this one!

It's because that would be as helpful as playground taunts of "..well.. well.. your mother is one too!"

if you have a rational point to make just make it.

@AnonymousBleep - young men in particular show high support for reform

Maybe try to engage with views you disagree with instead of condemning people who don't have the same opinions as you

No you don't - you can't tell the difference between Male and Female and you don't understand how DSDs work - you proved that just now.

Right? snort.

The Trans bullshit is just that, another pile of bullshit.

Why some people have decided to pretend humans can no longer tell the difference between men and women is beyond me.

Give it a fucking rest, just how fucking dumb do you want to look? EVERYBODY can tell! You can pretend if you want. But you can't make others. And by trying to force people to you only piss them off and hand ammunition to the right.

Dummies.

In case you haven't noticed people who are intersex are often vilified. Hence they tend to stay out of MSM and often will only talk to media which is supportive. Yes it makes it hard to find unbiased media sources. But it is what it is.

You’re a fool who keeps willfully ignoring what we are all writing.

everyone is either male or female. Everyone. I don’t care if they know it or not.

males going the mens

females in the women’s.
