To hate wide leg trousers

I wore flared trousers first time round and swore I never would again! To me the wide legs look ugly, buy each to their own!

I like them too, hate skinnies !

5ft 1 inch and think they're brilliant! Wide and roomy, and cover a multitude of sin. I'm no longer restricted to wearing trousers that feel like I've got an anaconda wrapped around my legs. I love the airy feel and can move the limbs much more easily without the knees and groin feeling like they're rubbed with sandpaper. I've wide lounge pants, wide jeans, wide other velvety ones & had lots of compliments about them.

I prefer boot cut as it looks best on me, but wide leg comes in second. Skinny or straight leg looks terrible. My thighs have always been pronounced even when I was skinny (120 lbs) so the flare of the boot cut balances out my legs. Also short but a ridiculously long torso so it just balances everything.

skinny jeans adds a lot of weight to me and makes me look pear shaped.

I really thought I’d be wearing skinnies forever. But they look so dated now. I’m sure they’ll be back, but for now, I’m loving the slouchy wide legged look.

I'm desperately waiting for them to disappear from my section of the provinces. I'm inclining to "apple shaped' and tight jeans clinging to my rounded tummy is not a good look. I've worn nothing but skirts for the last 5 years or more.

I'm 5'10 and I look cute as a button in mine, especially with hi top sneakers 😁

I think there is a theme with mostly tall people liking them

I am 6ft and have long legs, wide hips and slim (enough) waist so I like how wide legs paired with fitted or boxy top looks on me

One pair I bought is so extremely wide/flared it almost looks like a skirt

I read that skinnies are coming back in, but I will stick with my wide legs and mega-flared for a bit

@MySweetGeorgina i have some navy wide palazzo pants from M and Ssss probably eight years ago that are similarly so wide they are like a brilliantly swishy skirt. I am swishing in them all over the shop lately. Also tall; a smidge over 5’ 9 - it’s a theme.

Mind you, I also have some wide leg culottes these may be faux leather which I wear with knee boots and feel very Pirate Wench, so it’s not only about the length for me.

I don't care that much for them and have only one pair. No fashionista either as you've guessed and will wear what I feel good in. At the moment the sail legs are not working for me.

I've just carried on wearing mine. I don't really care about fashion so just wear what I like.

Well i apparently defy the trend then because I'm tall and look bloody awful in them! I think because I'm a big-arsed pear shape it just makes my whole bottom half look enormous compared to my top half. Skinnies and straight leg all the way for me!

I don't like flares or bootcuts - because the latter are just flares of a kind. I'm not too bad with wide leg, but some variants are ott and too wide. I'm tall, so I can make them work. The best jeans are straight, the second best skinny and tapered (just the simple kind, not some of the latest attempts) are third best in my book. Skinny jeans are so practical they can't kill them off and they seem to be making a comeback at the moment

I'm 5ft 3 and a petite frame, I just look ridiculous in wide trousers - literally like a clown! Mind you I can't wear skinnies either They make me look even shorter than I am. I stick to straight leg, or for jeans it's bootleg or girlfriend.

Im another one who thinks they look bloody awful on other people, even the models on the online sites look a state imho.

Nah, I don't like them at all and the cigar pant shape is hideous.

I have lost over 2 stone in the past year, so there's no way I'm going to put my newly slim legs in anything other than straight or skinny jeans/trousers.

Love wide leg trouser. I HATE skinny jeans. I joyfully threw the last pairs I found at the back of my drawers into the clothes recycling this week.

I'm in my 40s and still live in skinnies because they suit my shape. I know they're dated but I feel like that doesn't matter once you're old?

I did order some wide leg and they looked pretty good...but am I too old in my 40s?

I really don't like shapeless ones (Mom jeans etc) and ankle-swingers.
