To ask if you have your Sat morning cuppa with or without your DH/DP

Was chatting to a chum and she said she loved starting the weekend with a cup of tea in bed with her DH.

Not us! DH brings me a coffee then goes downstairs to have his whilst reading his book.

I scroll mindlessly through MN. What about you?

(I never say chum or cuppa in RL!)

YABU to use the word cuppa. I don't know what other response you need from this thread?

My preference is to come downstairs and have my cuppa. In blissful silence before everyone is awake.

I like a nice quiet start to my weekend if I can and my DH is polar opposite so definitely separate if at all possible. He's gone out this morning so it's just me and the dogs (kids in their bedrooms). It's very peaceful!

Prefer to have my morning cuppa alone, DH can be very annoying first thing in the morning

I have my cuppa in bed while DH potters about downstairs. I enjoy the peace.

We sit together on the sofa with ours
if one of us is working or leaving the house early we might bring the other a drink depending on time

Lol. We have ours separately as I get up with the kids first most Saturdays

It's one of my most favourite times of day.

We have it together. DH makes it. We have papers delivered at the weekend
so read those.

I have mine with DC1, DP and DC2 don't get up until mid morning.

I'm single so I make a pot of coffee about 6,30, take it back to bed and do the Mumsnet puzzles. Then the LinkedIn puzzles. Bliss, no rush, no school run. 😊

Then I'm ready for a hot shower, breakfast and the weekly food shop. Which is where I'm going now.

We have different body clocks, I am up hours before him so I have mine alone.

I wake up first so have mine first in peace

I get up really early and have a big mug of peppermint tea in peace, doing my makeup. I then take a tea up for DH and sit on the bed while we make plans for the day.

At weekends I almost always wake before dh. I creep downstairs and have a peaceful cup of tea and usually knit for a bit. On weekdays there's no time to sit and have a cup of tea together. I make us both a cup. I take mine back upstairs and drink it while I'm getting ready for work. Dh gets ready before going downstairs to drink his.

It depends. Dh is pretty tired from a busy week so he's still in bed and I've made myself some coffee.
Some mornings I'll watch a film while I'm having a coffee alone, which I love. Not today though. Too much to do.

Dh brings me a cuppa every morning and goes downstairs to potter too. Forget flowers and big romantic gestures, real romance is a cup of tea in bed every morning for 35 years 😊

Neither of us drink tea, so neither option! DH doesn’t drink hot drinks at all, I’ll do myself a double espresso in the coffee machine when I come down (DH would but he has no idea how to use it).

Pre DD, we'd usually get up at the same time and have a chilled morning together downstairs. Now, we split the weekend mornings waking up with DD so mostly we have our morning cuppas separately.

Do people really do the same exact thing every Saturday morning?

We drink ours in bed together with the radio on, chatting, scrolling, doing puzzles.
