To be worried about what the Labour government will do next?

Scenicgirl · 17/12/2024 22:46

Let's be honest, Labour has been a massive disappointment for this country, pissing off the pensioners with taking away the WFA, the farmers, NI changes which impact employers, immigration etc and today refusing compensation to the WASPI women after they ridiculed the Conservatives when they didn't commit to a solution. Don't we deserve better than this constant shit show of lies and deceptions which were clearly spouted out purely to gain power?
For the 1st time in my life, I worry about where we are heading.

But many think those choices are needed and a good thing.

MushMonster · 17/12/2024 22:53

Your turn to feel like this.
I felt that for years, watching this country electing Boris Johnson (and then having the other two NON-ELECTED idiots as PM) and sticking to the tories BS of government. I think I have PTSD, to be honest.
I am rather chilled at present.

Feelingstrange2 · 17/12/2024 22:55

Constant shit show of lies and deceptions? Could be talking about the 14 years of Tories there!

Look, they've had to make decisions. I wouldn't have done a few of their choices but the alternatives would probably have been unpopular too - balancing budgets never are as much fun as splashing the cash.

Interesting you are worried now and not when Tories were in power!

ManHereSorry · 17/12/2024 22:57

Hopefully more policies aimed at reversing this country’s massive decline. They won’t get everything right but it’s a relief not having the Tories in charge. It’s a shame that Farage is about to be bankrolled by Musk though, the next general election will probably lead to complete chaos which will cause havoc for years to come. Then you’ll be wishing for Starmer to come back and be boring again.

PomandersandRedRibbon · 17/12/2024 22:57

I agree I had higher hopes and I don't know who they represent even the unions are up in arms.

Thedogscollar · 17/12/2024 22:59

If this is genuinely the first time in your life that you are worried where we are heading where on earth have you been for the last 14 years??
It was a shit show of Tories ruining the country then the Covid years did you think that went well??
The Tories would be doing the same if not worse if still in power. It's because of the last bunch of losers that tough decisions are having to be made.

ilovesooty · 17/12/2024 23:00

I don't think I can even be bothered debating your OP.
Let's be honest not everyone sees it as you do and not everyone is disappointed or describes recent decisions as a shit show.

BIossomtoes · 17/12/2024 23:01

These threads are getting so tedious. Go and have a Baileys and chill out @Scenicgirl.

Agree - the propaganda is already there on X/Twitter and Facebook. I'm getting so many Ultra Right wing pages popping up (all with Union Jack symbols) and all spouting hate. Trump is being promoted as god-like. It's disturbing.

YIP · 17/12/2024 23:04

They’re all as shight as each other!

MyKidsAreTooNoisy · 17/12/2024 23:07

Oooh another post when someone pretends to be disappointed with Labour as if they haven’t voted Tories/UKIP/Reform their entire adult lives.

ThisCosyAquaHiker · 17/12/2024 23:08

Unfortunately, tidying up a mess is never much fun.

I'm pleased that you are happy with a party that lied throughout their manifesto to gain power. Let's see what happens next time there is an election.

Please do detail the specific lies they've told regarding their manifesto.

Ahhh

Can you list the lies in the manifesto for us?

Thanks

StarDolphins · 17/12/2024 23:16

just because the last lot were shit, doesn’t mean these lot can’t be too. Tories are awful, Labour are awful. They’re both awful & none if them will get in next & there’s no other party either so we’re all in for a bumpy ride of shittiness.

Thedogscollar · 17/12/2024 23:18

@Scenicgirl a party that lied
Oh the irony 😂

And what better way to do it than to create more mess!

Henrythehappypig · 17/12/2024 23:21

Opening posts that are worded not just to indicate how the OP feels but also to suggest how everyone else is supposed to feel really annoy me.

I voted Labour and what they've just done to the Waspi women is shocking.

senua · 17/12/2024 23:30

I remember when Tony Blair came to power; at least he was upbeat and sounded optimistic. Starmer is just miserable and RR is in line to cause a recession with all her doom-mongering.
Labour are usually "tax and spend" but this lot are just "tax, then tax some more". I can't see any positives.

Me too! Reading this
For the 1st time in my life, I worry about where we are heading
just makes me think 'really? What were you thinking between 2017-2024? Did that seem good to you?' 😧

What's clear now is how many right wing media bods and online 'concerned people' 🤔 are keen to jump in and have a go when they blithely stood back for years and let a Tory government wreck things because it suited them. Labour are in for 4 years yet. Get used to it.
