AIBU to feel completely distressed by the viral video of the aftermath of onlyfans worker Lily P 'sleeping with' 100 men?

MumOfOneAllAlone · 11/12/2024 09:48

I've tried to word this carefully.

Lily, an onlyfans star, aged 20something I'm guessing, slept with 100 men in one go, as part of a documentary.

Following this, she's on camera crying. She says her eyes hurt as some of the men ejaculated in them, despite her saying no.

My heart is broken for this girl. Im a feminist but I've never thought of sex work as being empowering?

Surely, the empowerment of sex work has failed this poor girl? And surely the 100 men who agreed to do this are criminals???

I'm so angry. You could see in the video that Lily is realising what a mistake this was and is very traumatised.

Anyway, didn't see a thread on this so thought I'd post. My heart goes out to her, and my brain feels very angry at those who failed to protect her.

Obviously on mn all women r innocent vulnerable victims who cannot think for themselves and need a man to guide them. In every single decision and all people with mh want to do this kind of stunt while all men r evil predators including dads sons uncles brothers of each poster lol

Have you even read the thread

loads of people on this thread have disagreed with the OP

its not an ‘only on mumsnet thing’ in the slightest

No, I don’t feel any sympathy for her and my heart certainly isn’t broken for her. For goodness sake!

She knew what she was doing, and did it to make money. She could have stopped at any time. If anyone did anything against her will she could have reported it to the police at any time - it’s not as if she would be too embarrassed as she had already written newspaper articles/given interviews/ got huge publicity about what she planned to do (for which she was presumably paid).

I'll repeat: if she found she wasn’t enjoying it she could have stopped at any time. No-one was forcing her. There are a lot more more deserving news items to feel heartbroken about.

She is only 18, she's young and I hate to think what sort of upbringing she's had.

Take a look back in the thread

I can’t be bothered really but I’ve seen several videos where she talks about telling them long after she started doing this work and one where she’s in the pub with friends and jokes that she thinks her dads mates subscribe to her OF page. Are you saying she’s lying about her parents and that they in fact pushed her to do this work?

NewBootsWeather · 11/12/2024 17:14

Aduvetday · 11/12/2024 17:08

Many abuse victims turn to risky sex or sex work in an attempt to regain control. What’s your point?

Nobody has said she was previously abused. She saw Bonnie Blue do it snd get loads of money and joined in.

Marymaryxmas · 11/12/2024 17:15

This is one of the worse things I have ever read, complete random men waiting in line for their five minutes of sex. The poor girl is abusing herself, being abused by people around her especially her parents who should be protecting her . What a horrible world we live in that people will do anything for five minutes of fame and money .

They have, one has even called me insufferable - definitely not an an only on mumsnet thing

For what it's worth, I said early on in the thread that there are men who would see a woman like this and run a mile!

So whilst many men are evil and would take advantage of a vulnerable woman, as depicted by these 100 men, it certainly doesn't apply to all men - not one person has said that

She now wants to sleep with 1000 men, yes very traumatised indeed.

I have no sympathy for her. At all. Play stupid games win stupid prizes.

I'd agree with this.

And surely no woman with half a brain thinks sex work, or having sex with multiple random strangers, is empowering.

User123456713 · 11/12/2024 17:19

Why is everyone so upset horrified at what she has done & her crocodile tears?

The interviews she does are all about getting more paying fans "oh can i really cum on her face? tell me where to sign up"

She has done videos where she is shagging many different guys and then she and another women laugh their heads off as the men cum over their faces and in their eyes.

Its terrible shame but imho at least she isn't cheating on her partner, you can bet your last condom that many of these 101 men plus the 100s of others that signed up, have got wives and GF's :( and who will have no idea what they men they are having sex with have done.

She’s 23.

SpecialKate · 11/12/2024 17:23

Crocodile tears, imo.

I wish everyone would give up with the twee "slept with".

There was definitely no sleeping going on.

NewBootsWeather · 11/12/2024 17:23

Her mate Bonnie Blue makes content about sleeping with 18 year old virgin teenage boys which I think Lily got involved in.

SuzieNine · 11/12/2024 17:26

PinkLionFind · 11/12/2024 15:04

I can comprehend that people make terrible decisions for many different reasons.

To be sectioned you have to be a risk to yourself and others , she is a risk to herself.

I don’t know anything about your primary care or the actual rarity of someone being sectioned however the idea that there should be an intervention of some sort it is not as far fetched as you seem to think.

It is self harm and she’s damaging herself and putting herself in even greater danger.

We don't lock up women for making stupid, reckless and immoral life choices any more I'm very glad to say. We used to, you can read about it.

Making foolish and risky decisions that put yourself in danger does not meet the threshold of self harm. Damaging your mental health is not self harm. Putting yourself at risk of disease and violence is not self harm.

If we start saying that behaviour that puts you at risk of mental and physical harm is worthy of sectioning then we are going to have to lock up an awful lot of people.

Startinganew32 · 11/12/2024 17:27

She’s not 18
She’s middle class from a solid family
She went to a RG university but dropped out
She only started doing porn about a year ago
She’s never said she has been raped or abused

It’s laughable that people think that she’s this poor victim and that all she needs is love. She would literally laugh in your face if you said that. Why infantilise her and try to twist facts to suit your narrative?

Startinganew32 · 11/12/2024 17:28

And why the concern for her and not for Bonnie Blue who is a similar age (and possibly even more disgusting in terms of morals)? Surely Bonnie is similarly a victim and needs help/sectioning?

Aduvetday · 11/12/2024 17:28

NewBootsWeather · 11/12/2024 17:14

My post still stands. It’s not my fault people lack reading comprehension. Many people who are victims of abuse or sexual trauma try and repeat to gain control cf the experience.

So as I stated to the post I quoted - what is your point exactly? I never said she was abused. Try reading the post again.

macap · 11/12/2024 17:29

Why do desperate to paint her as a victim?

She wanted the social media fame and the money. It’s glaringly obvious.

SocksAndTheCity · 11/12/2024 17:29

DuesToTheDirt · 11/12/2024 17:18

I'd agree with this.

And surely no woman with half a brain thinks sex work, or having sex with multiple random strangers, is empowering.

I have a whole entire brain, thankfully. I have also long since lost count of the number of multiple random strangers I've had sex with and whether or not it was 'empowering' has never crossed my mind in over thirty years. It's been fun, that much I do know.

If people are claiming that sex work is 'empowering' it's likely a defensive response to their choice of occupation constantly being attacked and criticised by those would rather it didn't exist, rather than just accepting that it's not for them and minding their own business. I can't see why it would be any more or less empowering than any other job; it's just a job.

Some people will find it empowering. Others will not. The vast majority would rather be left alone to get on with quietly earning a living, without being patronised to within an inch of their lives and endlessly told that they don't know their own minds and are not able to decide what to do with their own bodies.

nam3c4ang3 · 11/12/2024 17:32

Is this the same girl who has said she is now going to sleep with 1000 men in 24 hours? Holy hell - she's made £2 million from shagging people?!

n3f5 · 11/12/2024 17:33

FreshOutOfFucks · 11/12/2024 14:38

Extreme promiscuity like this is nearly always a trauma response to historic CSA.

I question how voluntary an act like hers is when it's done in the context of a porn-saturated patriarchy that rewards hypersexualised women with money and fame.

Lily set conditions around her consent. Those conditions were ignored, which makes it rape. She was raped on camera for money and none of the men who participated or were involved in the filming gave a single shit.

She was not raped on camera.

It's bad enough without making stuff up for drama

Radishknot · 11/12/2024 17:36

She’s just desperate to be famous hence all these stunts. Just ignore her.

Ha why do I need to read about it ? How do you know that I don’t know about woman being institutionalised?

You can have whatever opinion you like but there’s no need to be snarky and condescending,

Startinganew32 · 11/12/2024 17:41

Do you say the same about extremely promiscuous men? There’s plenty of famous ones who claim to have slept with 500-1000 women or more. Are they CSA victims too?

The 'she should be sectioned' posters are morally outraged in exactly the same way as those who had young women locked up for having children out of wedlock a hundred years ago. They couldn't conceive that a woman would do such a thing unless they were mentally ill - and mentally ill people should be locked up.

There's a bunch of cowboy builders next to us knocking down an old asbestos roof barn - no PPE or dust masks in sight. Somehow I doubt that posters would call for them to be sectioned despite this being incredibly stupid and risky behaviour.

It's a very common pattern. Who knows the detail of why she's doing this but it's unlikely to be an expression of happiness and contentment.

Annabel Chong, who broke the world record for having sex with the recorded highest number of men, at the time said she had decided to do it after dropping out of uni as an expression of power and that she was in control etc. She gave many interviews to that effect and the media were happy enough about pushing this narrative. Turns out that she had been gang raped and robbed shortly after starting her undergraduate studies, when she was a newly arrived international student.

Abuse and rape survivors construct these narratives as part of their survival process; it doesn't mean the rest of us should be taking them at face value.

The sectioned comments from me are a wake up call for the woman involved. I was in a psychiatric unit briefly over the summer (my first time) and there was at least one woman there who’d been out of control due to unmedicated mental health issues. So they were either medicated and/or sectioned.
