AIBU to feel completely distressed by the viral video of the aftermath of onlyfans worker Lily P 'sleeping with' 100 men?

MumOfOneAllAlone · 11/12/2024 09:48

I've tried to word this carefully.

Lily, an onlyfans star, aged 20something I'm guessing, slept with 100 men in one go, as part of a documentary.

Following this, she's on camera crying. She says her eyes hurt as some of the men ejaculated in them, despite her saying no.

My heart is broken for this girl. Im a feminist but I've never thought of sex work as being empowering?

Surely, the empowerment of sex work has failed this poor girl? And surely the 100 men who agreed to do this are criminals???

I'm so angry. You could see in the video that Lily is realising what a mistake this was and is very traumatised.

Anyway, didn't see a thread on this so thought I'd post. My heart goes out to her, and my brain feels very angry at those who failed to protect her.

@MumOfOneAllAlone she's making £100s of thousands. That's why she's doing it.

Those around her and in charge of her career are taking a significant chunk of that

Onlyfans markets itself as giving grown women a chance to make a bit of money on the side. Lily is just a kid thinking she's in control when she isn't. It's heartbreaking

@AliasGrace47 yes I saw this being discussed, I believe her mom deals with the financial side of her onlyfans not too sure about the dad, he was only mentioned in passing. In the documentary the young lady even mentions her family members watching/paying for her OF but doesn’t elaborate, very sick individuals. It is like watching a car crash and not being able to look away. I have only seen short 1 minute clips on X but that is enough. There is no doubt in my mind this young lady has been abused and maybe thinks this is getting her power back. I just want to stop her and keep her safe.

Surely, the empowerment of sex work has failed this poor girl?

She's a fame hungry idiot with no class. What she did was crass and attention seeking. There is no empowerment in sex work. That's a fallacy.

And surely the 100 men who agreed to do this are criminals??? Why? They didn't pay her, did they? They didn't solicit her. It was completely consensual. She invited them to take part.

I'm so angry. Why be angry? Why not be frustrated and digusted with the whole repugnant lot of them, including her?

You could see in the video that Lily is realising what a mistake this was and is very traumatised. At the point she realised it was a mistake she called have put a stop to it. Refused to carry on. Did she? No. She carried on because the fame was more important to her than her dignity and her physical and mental wellbeing.

my brain feels very angry at those who failed to protect her.

And who should have protected her? I presume you mean someone should have stepped in to stop it going ahead, or stop it half way through? Only she can do that. She's a grown woman with free will. If she can't see that what she did was not healthy on any level then there is nothing anyone else can do to talk sense into her. Stupid, stupid girl.

Aren’t you a barrel of empathy

TheSilkWorm · 11/12/2024 09:57

Of course 'sex work' isn't empowering and it's exploitation, not work. And yes the men who violated her consent are criminals. However most of them aren't. She consented to this action and consented to the vast majority of the sexual acts. It's bizarre, self harming behaviour done to seek notoriety and fame.

This. I have limited sympathy for her I 'm afraid. This isn't a desperate single mother doing this as a last resort to make ends meet. She knew exactly what she was doing, used it to get fame and fortune, and raised a lot of publicity for herself. What did she expect?
At best she's a complete fool, and at worst she will have given impressionable and naive young girls the wrong idea and normalises this kind of thing by making it seem 'cool' (many of us saw the 'before' videos, i for one hadn't seen the 'after').

Sorry but you sound insufferable. She’s an adult and she’s very far from vulnerable. Your solution is to literally lock her up until she changes her behaviour. You’ve made up a whole story about how she’s an abuse victim, nobody loves her, her parents are exploiting her, she has no agency. You also said at the outset that you could see that she realised what a mistake it was to sleep with 100 men yet she immediately said she wants to sleep with even more.
People have agency. She has enough money to stop this right now and she chooses not to. No self harm scars on her, nothing to suggest a mental illness. What does come across that she is quite cold and ruthless. Which doesn’t surprise me but it doesn’t make her a victim.

She very clearly doesn’t want to be saved by you or anyone else.

Whoaa alright

I'd find you insufferable tbh, unable to offer sympathy to a young woman who men have had sex with and then phoned their mates to have a go on her

I mean, it's clear from her behaviour that she needs help. Girls don't just enjoy sleeping with hundreds of people for the fun of it, otherwise so many more people would be at it. It's been said that she's spent the money on her parents. I didn't make that up.

It's very easy for me to feel sympathy for her given my own life experiences and that's what I was offering to the conversation.

@MumOfOneAllAlone that's not what happened. She invited 101 men to sleep with her.

She had a figure in mind when she started which was a 100. She needed them to get their mates because initially 100 didn't turn up.

NeverSeenAFarmerOnABike · 11/12/2024 15:27

I watched the documentary that guy made on YouTube and it's disturbing. Who are these people she employs? They don't show their faces on camera. They didn't have a clue who was in the room with her or what was going on in there. A bloody baby monitor? That was the extent of their oversight of the situation? She has some pretty terrible people around her.

When she was talking afterwards her regret was expressed in people pleasing terms, that she was concerned the guys kvetching about not getting enough time (!!! 🤮🤮) hadn't enjoyed themselves. It sounded like she's internalised the fucked up backwards message that onlyfans puts out about itself to a terrifically harmful degree, internalised it literally to include the extent of her own body, by presenting the situation as though it were a customer service matter.

QuintessentialDragon · 11/12/2024 15:29

Couldn't care less. Stupid games and stupid prizes come to mind.

Seems like I don't understand feminism at all. I thought one of the most important things about it is that women are entitled to choose and govern their own lives however they see fit with no input from men. That they have agency over their lives. No?

So why the fuck every time some brain dead damsell fucks up, it's still always the men's fault and responsibility somehow. This woman is an idiot. I don't care about her traumas, she's an idiot. She activelly chose this. Yes, the men she fucked are disgusting, but so is she, just as equally. No respect for herself. I don't see her as any sort of victim, she must bear the consequences of her actions.

If a man fucked 100 women in a night and published it (not really possible but whatever). He'd be labelled a predator and an abuser, even if the women agreed to it. Or an absolute sleezeball at the very least. No one would call him a victim. So I don't see how it's different for her.

Yea, you don't feel amazing after fucking 100 men in one night and broadcasting it everywhere. Hoopty doo, what a revelation, who knew.

Yes I saw the video where she said she was doing 100 men. It was definitely pre planned. I’ve spent a bit of time watching tik tok videos where she’s being interviewed. I can’t believe people are going on like she’s some victim. She’s really really not and my guess is she was asked to cry on camera for the documentary because it made for good viewing “I hadn’t expected to see Lily so upset” etc etc etc

I didn't see when they said that's what happened, that they needed more men to come

Still she was treated with disrespect and her body used for random men to masturbate with

The men disrespected her in a way they wouldn't allow others to disrespect their loved ones. All this to improve her only fans page and line the pockets of those profiting from her

I don't believe for a second that she didn't regret it and actually wants to go ahead and sleep with 1000

I mean the point of aibu is for people to express their opinions, we don't all have to have the same one

Still feel awful for the girl though 🥺

OP posts:
KTheGrey · 11/12/2024 15:38

I agree with the stuff about exploitation - her team seem to me to be random amateurs - probably her ‘friends’ who have no clue what they are doing and are yet paid. I suppose at least she has people around her. But it means there are now nine people, including family members or otherwise, whose financial interests are served by her filming herself having unsafe sex with random strangers. And they are not ensuring that everybody is STD tested, or that she always uses a condom, or backing her up so she enforces her boundaries. They are not even cleaning and tidying the room between men. What are they doing?

And of course it’s grim that her mother is behaving like an abusive stage mother, and pushing her on.

She needs an escape plan, and not one of those people is helping her with it. Icky.

MumOfOneAllAlone · 11/12/2024 14:59

Oh my mistake, I'd paused it when she was crying as I thought it was the end and I was tearing up

Yeah, this doesn't change my mind. A pre recorded video of her saying she wants to do it again. I think she's unwell and has been encouraged by those around her to think it's not that bad and she was just overwhelmed

I'm not sure why you're desperate to make her a victim?

Onlyonekenobe · 11/12/2024 15:39

Begsthequestion · 11/12/2024 14:42

So the woman in the made up scenario did it without a free choice, due to addiction.

The real life person we're talking about is not an addict and chose to do it.

I'm still not understanding your point.

If you don't understand my point, I think it's because you don't understand the difference between "choice" and "free choice".

An addict desperate for their next fix has a choice, don't they? Just don't do it. You know this isn't how it works.

I don't think this girl, at this age, is "choosing" to do this in the same way that you or I may choose to not do it - or choose to go out for pizza tonight, or choose to dump a boyfriend.

What does a 23yo girl's life have to have been like, for her to CHOOSE to do this, freely and willingly? If she's so hard, so venal, has such a hard shell and is so self-protective and secure in herself and love herself and love sex and love her ability to give men sexual pleasure by using her as a sex toy, of all the choices she could make in the world why would she CHOOSE to do this when it clearly causes her such distress and physical pain? Choose to do this, for money, on camera, forever on the internet? Have you seen the videos?

Are you going to tell me that there's a circumstance under which what she did ISN'T degrading?

Jingleballs2 · 11/12/2024 15:40

FreshOutOfFucks · 11/12/2024 15:04

She wasn’t raped and she never said she was. Ejaculating on someone’s face is not rape.

I've read on X that each guy was allowed five minutes and lots of them just ignored this and carried on until they were finished. She also said no ejaculating on her face and that was ignored too.

That's rape and sexual assault.

No she didn't, she said they COULD do it on her face..

Geordie01 · 11/12/2024 15:41

Literally and metaphorically, she f**ked around and found it. No sympathy

Startinganew32 · 11/12/2024 15:41

She says that she only started doing porn about 11 months ago so well into her early 20s. She fudged it to her parents and I get the feeling they don’t ask her too many questions about what she actually does and i definitely don’t get the impression that they want her to do this stuff or are pressuring her. She says she grew up in a middle class family, parents together, lived in a small village. She went to a very good university but dropped out to do only fans.
She has a very blasé attitude to it all. I mean yeah maybe in the future she will have a change of heart but she doesn’t come across as vulnerable at all.

Startinganew32 · 11/12/2024 15:42

Jingleballs2 · 11/12/2024 15:40

No she didn't, she said they COULD do it on her face..

Yes and she also said she felt bad for guys who didn’t get enough time, not that they carried on after she told them to stop. It would help if people on here didn’t make stuff up - she’s never said she was raped or assaulted by anyone.

VestaTilley · 11/12/2024 15:43

It’s not sex work, it’s prostitution. That’s not about blaming the woman - it’s about rightfully blaming men who abuse women in paid rape and get away with it. Most women who do what Lily does have been abused as children and often do it as a way to regain a sense of “control”. It does not work. Others are controlled and pumped out by men. Read about Nordic Model Now!’s work to find out more.

It’s an utter tragedy. Look at this woman, look at Grace Campbell. They’ve all been sold a lie about sexual empowerment which is built from a society soaked in pornography which benefits men, not women. It’s a tragedy.

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 11/12/2024 15:44

Lily is just a kid.

She's 23! This might wash if she were in her late teens but she isn't. What age do we class as an adult who makes their own choices and deals with the consequences these days? 28? 40? 72?

Exactly.. people are just making up crap then saying "oh I didn't see that part" when someone points out it's wrong 🤦‍♀️

As for "getting their mates to join in", she wanted 100, men dripped out so they had to find more. It's not that hard to understand. Have people with such strong opinions actually watched the documentary??
