AIBU to feel completely distressed by the viral video of the aftermath of onlyfans worker Lily P 'sleeping with' 100 men?

I've tried to word this carefully.

Lily, an onlyfans star, aged 20something I'm guessing, slept with 100 men in one go, as part of a documentary.

Following this, she's on camera crying. She says her eyes hurt as some of the men ejaculated in them, despite her saying no.

My heart is broken for this girl. Im a feminist but I've never thought of sex work as being empowering?

Surely, the empowerment of sex work has failed this poor girl? And surely the 100 men who agreed to do this are criminals???

I'm so angry. You could see in the video that Lily is realising what a mistake this was and is very traumatised.

Anyway, didn't see a thread on this so thought I'd post. My heart goes out to her, and my brain feels very angry at those who failed to protect her.

I just saw a bit of the documentary and it really pissed me off when she said that she refused a request to put a plastic bag over her head, but if someone offered her a million dollars she’d probably do it (paraphrased). The YouTuber interviewing her just laughed along with her. Maybe they don’t know that a student who did camgirling on the side died from putting a bag over her head, the guy who paid her to do it watched her suffocate to death on cam and refused to call 999 to help her, and was later jailed. I’m sure there are other cases. It’s not something to joke about.

The second scenario is a woman doing the same thing (hypothetically) as an act of desperation: dependency/addiction, poverty and all the things that result from that. Those things don't just appear one day, out of the blue, aged 23. They're the result of many chronic/long-term factors.

My point is this girl's acts are the same as those of a woman who would be (is - let's face it, in reality this happens all the time if not necessarily 100 in a day, but the same act of self-disrespect and disregard) desperate. The soft lighting and publicity and easy-on-the-eye nature of it all belies the fact that the woman in question is desperate. So to all those saying she made this choice of her own free will: no, I don't think she did. She's 23. 23! To have got to this point by 23 will have meant years of whatever went before. You don't wake up like this one day.

Firmly agree. Those on her 'payroll' are also exploiting her.

She is physically damaging herself by offering herself up to these men.

This is self harm but not in a way we are used to seeing.

People don't get sectioned for self-harming unless they've presented to primary care with life-threatening injuries, and even then it's extremely rare.

The idea that she could (or should) be sectioned is pure fantasy from people who can't comprehend that individuals can make incredibly unwise and self-destructive decisions without being mentally ill.

Extreme promiscuity like this is nearly always a trauma response to historic CSA.

I question how voluntary an act like hers is when it's done in the context of a porn-saturated patriarchy that rewards hypersexualised women with money and fame.

Lily set conditions around her consent. Those conditions were ignored, which makes it rape. She was raped on camera for money and none of the men who participated or were involved in the filming gave a single shit.

She wasn’t raped and she never said she was. Ejaculating on someone’s face is not rape.

How the hell can you compare a woman who was drugged and violated horrifically and has been incredibly brave in waiving her anonymity and speaking out with this absolute joke of a human being who monetises shagging 100 men and then is miffed that they don’t ejaculate the way she wants to? Seriously it’s infuriating and such an insult. This woman is trash and wouldn’t even thank you for sticking up for her.

They shouldn't've ejaculated on her eyes, esp when explicitly told not to. Violation of consent is unquestionably criminal. It's not rape but still v wrong.
These are extreme cases, but these are people, not freaks, horrible word. They are trends blown up to v high proportions. But there are many other women being sold the cool Onlyfans/sex work idea, & way too much porn. It is having a v bad effect, though this is an extreme example.

This reminds me of Annabel Chong and the documentary about "the world's biggest gang bang". I found it very distressing to watch for similar reasons.

This was in the late 90s / early 2000s - I've just been to check Wikipedia and Annabel/Grace has thankfully been able to build a career outside the porn industry

I wonder whether this kind of behaviour could be considered reckless and self endangering though

Of course it would. I saw an interview with her a week before she did this, and she was asked if she was worried about the possibility of contracting HIV.

She said, 'Is that where it comes from? I didn't know that.'

I can't find where she says this

It literally has a video of her at the end of the documentary. "Last week I slept with 101 guys, this was just the warm up. In February I'm going to be the first person to reach 4 digits, 1000 guys all in one day"

OP, I don't think you are seeing the bigger picture.

There is lots of footage out there. Not just the one after she had 100 men run through her. Not my words, hers.

She is continuing to do her thing and is not looking distraught.

I'm in two minds about sex work, but it can obviously not be acceptable for people's boundaries to be crossed in any circumstance.

She said no to ejaculations on her eyes. That was done without her consent. That is sexual assault.

It’s hardly sexual assault, what do you expect with dozens of loads to the face.

Well I would bet 100% that she was playing up to the camera because nobody is that thick. She’s not thick. She knows what gets the clicks and likes. I don’t think her parents are pressuring her to do it although I do think she gives them money and sends them on flashy holidays.

Perhaps a matter of perspective, but abused people often try to normalise their abuse by recreating it in situations where they're in control. It's also common for people with PTSD to seek out familiarity by engaging in risking and harmful behaviours and then denying the impact of these.

She seems so vulnerable and naive 🥺

She's learned the hard way what happens to a girl when no-one loves her enough to fight for and protect her.

I'm sorry but she consented to all of this. To try and pretend it's rape or sexual assault when she is fully consenting is just disgusting

Startinganew32 · 11/12/2024 14:56

Also if she said it’s okay to ejaculate on my face but not the eyes, I mean, sorry but nobody has perfect aim do they. People calling it rape are so deluded.

Yeah which to be fair it probably was. If you don’t want it near your eyes don’t tell people it’s okay to cum on your face. Your eyes are on your face.

I'm afraid the more I see of the internet and social media and what it has done to the human race, the more I wish it hadn't been invented

I'm starting to agree with you. Even though I'm personally far too old to be affected by the worst excesses of social media I do worry for the youngsters and their parents having to cope with it all and stay sane.

Oh my mistake, I'd paused it when she was crying as I thought it was the end and I was tearing up

Yeah, this doesn't change my mind. A pre recorded video of her saying she wants to do it again. I think she's unwell and has been encouraged by those around her to think it's not that bad and she was just overwhelmed

How did she expect to feel? Heart goes out to her?! She arranged it!
