I've tried to word this carefully.

Future mental wellbeing is not a criteria for sectioning. To section someone is to lock them up against their will. To remove their liberty. It's only done in extremes to enable people to be stabilised so they are no longer at risk of killing themselves or someone else. Not because they are engaged in behaviour that may or may not cause them emotional distress in the future.

I have seen this. I don't believe she is well and of sound mind. She will definitely regret this down the line but even now, I smell a rat.

Sectioning is stripping someone of their rights, and it’s not done lightly. In extreme circumstances, when someone is not of sound mind, it can be justified. Her making a decision you don’t like does not mean that she isn’t of sound mind.
