AIBU to feel completely distressed by the viral video of the aftermath of onlyfans worker Lily P 'sleeping with' 100 men?

MumOfOneAllAlone · 11/12/2024 09:48

I've tried to word this carefully.

Lily, an onlyfans star, aged 20something I'm guessing, slept with 100 men in one go, as part of a documentary.

Following this, she's on camera crying. She says her eyes hurt as some of the men ejaculated in them, despite her saying no.

My heart is broken for this girl. Im a feminist but I've never thought of sex work as being empowering?

Surely, the empowerment of sex work has failed this poor girl? And surely the 100 men who agreed to do this are criminals???

I'm so angry. You could see in the video that Lily is realising what a mistake this was and is very traumatised.

Anyway, didn't see a thread on this so thought I'd post. My heart goes out to her, and my brain feels very angry at those who failed to protect her.

No, I'm sorry, you need to be accurate here otherwise you're not making any real kind of point. I've watched the clip, she wasn't 'visibly extremely distressed'. You've now added the word 'extremely' where it doesn't belong. She looked knackered, a bit shocked, and she was slightly tearful. She wasn't extremely distressed. If you want to use her to make a point then don't embellish the details, it makes your point pointless.

You're an expert in how trauma presents in the moment and in the short to long term? Your point is also pointless if you have any real understanding of trauma. But none of that was my point.

My point wasn't actually about how distressed or not this individual was. My point was about the social structures that are in place that would make this many people feel like this is an OK thing to do.

What has influenced and created those structures?

Why are they not being challenged in any meaningful macro way and we choose to focus on the individual?

Why is the focus on one of the 101 participants?

Unpopular opinion - the distressing documentary videos of women crying after a bad experience in porn is a porn genre.

You're probably right.

True, but imo it's depressing for our young girls/women in the same way that the existence of Andrew Tate is depressing for our young boys/men. The entertainment industry runs on shock value.

The internet makes the underbelly of society more visible - that's all. I think it's important to remember though that it isn't representative.
Young women/girls know this woman is an exception. At one time, when we were less mindful of terminology, she'd've been deemed a 'freak'.

RestlessMillennial · 11/12/2024 12:41

I've been so so distressed by it. I can't get it out of my mind, it's made me so angry.

After this and the Pelicot case, I feel like internet pornography is causing terrible damage to men's sexuality and their attitudes to women. Something needs to be done, this is an emergency. It is ruining normal relationships as well, so many women posting on here are upset because of their partner's porn use.

I've had enough, had enough of women being treated like disposable objects and dehumanized.

LookingForAHandHold · 11/12/2024 12:15

She openly chose this. Nobody forced her to do it. She obviously enjoyed it, or the consequences (money) because she's going to do it again.

Did you actually read and digest a single word I wrote?

I’m not talking about her as an individual.

I actually don’t care about the choices she makes as an adult woman.

I DO care about the pornsick, fucked up society that has produced girls like her, and normalised the concept of prostitution as a valid way to get rich quick.

Moonmelodies · 11/12/2024 12:42

A special shout-out must surely go to her 36K subscribers who are paying to watch this trainwreck.

How the hell can you compare a woman who was drugged and violated horrifically and has been incredibly brave in waiving her anonymity and speaking out with this absolute joke of a human being who monetises shagging 100 men and then is miffed that they don’t ejaculate the way she wants to? Seriously it’s infuriating and such an insult. This woman is trash and wouldn’t even thank you for sticking up for her.

Comparing this to what Gisele Pelicot has been through is entirely out of order.

I hope you're right. I guess I just don't like the fact that porn has been dragged from the back rooms of sex shops to the top of teens' TikTok feeds, and it's all because of this kind of bullshit.

RufustheFactuaIReindeer · 11/12/2024 12:45

She said no to ejaculations on her eyes. That was done without her consent. That is sexual assault.

this, i can disagree with sex work and her choices around having sex with multiple men and still feel sorry that some men crossed her very low bar

Startinganew32 · 11/12/2024 12:04

You obviously know very little about mental health law if you think you can section an adult for making unwise choices. I don’t think she’s mentally ill but I’d venture that she has some sort of personality disorder.

She is making millions from this stuff. She is choosing it and is not a victim and we shouldn’t pretend that she is. So she cried a bit in her video? It’s probably deliberate so that it sparks more debate. She’s probably dead inside which is how she can do these things.

But I genuinely don’t care. There are more deserving victims out there who don’t sell themselves for millions.

I'll admit that I don't know much about that area of the law

If just seems to me that she really is self harming by doing this. To me that video looked so genuine

Well yeah anyone would be a bit bruised and dazed if they’d done what she’d done. However she doesn’t seem to have learned from it in the slightest. She’s currently “in training” to fuck 1000 men in 24 hours, whatever the fuck that means.

MumOfOneAllAlone · 11/12/2024 12:49

Jellycats4life · 11/12/2024 12:10

personally I think it’s disgusting, but we can’t be empowering sex work one day and then wanting to put a stop to it when we think they’ve taken it too far. Unless of course they done something illegal.

You’ve raised a very interesting point in that “we” (women, that is) are supposed to believe that selling our bodies is empowering, and that in a capitalist society, any form of money making (including prostitution) is fine and dandy as long as it’s a free choice.

There is an alternative. We can believe that it’s profoundly abusive and harmful to all women who do it. We don’t have to parrot lines about choice and empowerment at all.

She didn't sleep with any of them. did she? Even when shocked we use language to weaken the event.

Indeed. They used her body as a kind of wank sock, let’s be real here.

This, they literally used her body to masturbate with 🥺

I think Lily is being paid by OF to groom young women into sex work.

Bingo. This is definitely happening.

I’ve lost count how many clickbait articles I’ve read about women making five or six figure sums per month on OF. There is no doubt in my mind that it’s a blatant attempt to normalise OF as a career choice.

Even celebrities like Lily Allen and (OK, not so much of a celebrity) Kate Nash talking recently about making money from supposedly tame things like photos of feet and photos of bums. Then the more tawdry celebs like Katie Price, Daniella Westbrook and Kerry Katona doing nudes and god knows what else.

It’s marketing.

I'm afraid the more I see of the internet and social media and what it has done to the human race, the more I wish it hadn't been invented

I was young and in my early 20s I think when I herd of this wonderful thing we would all have access too .
I said then I don’t like it why do we need it. ?

Honestly I still hate it.

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 11/12/2024 12:53

None of that means that people don't do them, or that they should not be allowed to choose to do them.

//

Thera is a difference though in that this activity in question carries a risk of one or more "clients" deciding they wanted to deliberately hurt you during. Highly unlikely to have deliberate harm from another human doing those others.

UnitedOps · 11/12/2024 12:54

TheSilkWorm · 11/12/2024 09:58

I've just googled her and I think she's the same one who likes to take the virginity of 18 year old boys in exchange for filming it and posting it online. I think she's also a groomer and exploiter of very young adults. She's got a very warped way of thinking anyway.

That is the other one.

MumOfOneAllAlone · 11/12/2024 12:55

TheSilkWorm · 11/12/2024 12:09

That's not the criteria for sectioning for goodness sake. She had a large quantity of consensual sex with a large number of men and you think she should lose her liberty over that choice?

I think she is making choices that endanger her safety and current and future wellbeing

If a boxer wanted to fight someone 10x their size and strength, with there being no way they could win, because of the payday or because they had people around them who would profit off of it, wouldn't they be considered insane, and those around them considered evil?

Agree though that it would be difficult to section someone on this basis alone. But I wish she had people that loved her enough to fight for her to say that this behaviour is self damaging and a sign of mental illness

NewBootsWeather · 11/12/2024 12:55

@MumOfOneAllAlone have you seen any other clips of her and Bonnie Blue? There are lots done after the event and she is just planning more and is certainly not coming across as traumatised.

So would you detain her indefinitely then? Because surely she’d start again as soon as she was let out?

LookingForAHandHold · 11/12/2024 12:57

@MumOfOneAllAlone boxers do do that. It literally happened the other week with Logan Paul and some old man.

Mrsbloggz · 11/12/2024 12:57

It does seem as if only fans is being normalised as a career choice🙁
Surely the more women that do it the smaller the revenue will be for each of them?

Or will there be a few outliers who earn large sums whilst most make very little but the outliers and publicising thereof will be enough to draw in more people?

Treaclewell · 11/12/2024 12:58

A long while back I read a story by Arthur C Clark which ended with the whole of humanity seized up in a shared mind, and this was seen as a consummation devoutly to be wished for. After a few minutes cogitation I came to the conclusion that in such circumstances I would rather be dead than having certain minds invading mine. The internet has proved my prediction right. Those minds are out there and shameless beyond anything I imagined, though in the same field. Are thse things human?

McNicey · 11/12/2024 12:58

She has uploaded a video saying 1000 is her goal next and asking women for their husbands.

She clearly wants to shock as well as monetise her vagina. It's grim. The men are grim. OF is grim.

But I can't get too worked up about her or the other one, given their attention seeking exploits are ultimately about money and fame.

The wider issue of consent and misogyny is where my despair lies.

MumOfOneAllAlone · 11/12/2024 13:00

Okay so apologies I should clarify my earlier comment that they ejaculated in her eyes - according to some tweets, they ejaculated on her face and it went in her eyes

Also here's a second video where she says she disassociated. This for me isn't a woman who was well enough to consent to this, sorry
