Sorry I haven’t read some of the posts lately on this particular debate but has anybody seen the dude that set up this petition? He has been doing interviews all over the radio this morning and sky TV et cetera he was a fucking conservative voter surprise surprise who was never gonna vote labour anyway Telling everybody that labour are doing worse. It’s all going to shit. Fuck me he must’ve forgotten the last 14 years well, I haven’t and I didn’t set up any bloody petitions. I had to have 14 years of conservatives thrust upon me because that’s democracy.

I feel like your post and view is out of date. Everywhere in Europe and the west is going the other way. Understanding the need to represent all sides and listening to the concerns of real people.

The conservatives will hope Labour won’t damage the economy and country’s prospects too much - they historically always have to clear up the mess.

I am not inspired by Labour to deliver anything beyond more taxes and more debt. I can’t even see them covering the basics such as healthcare, because until you pause the influx of people arriving here to live, you have no chance at all of delivering better services. It becomes a bottomless pit.

In the next five years we are going to see mass homelessness, a ballooning welfare state, a social care crisis deepening to dangerous levels and the entire country grinding to a slow halt.
And a hell of a lot of angry Labour voters that feel very betrayed.

It is that serious.

Edited

You realise that in 14 years, the Tories didn't manage to sort out immigration what so ever?? It's under them that it has ballooned.

cardibach · 26/11/2024 10:12

Artistbythewater · 26/11/2024 09:33

You conveniently left out the financial crisis Labour caused in 2008 after a huge sending spree that left our country completely exposed when the financial crash happened. It took nearly a decade to recover. Just in time for the pandemic to hit, which cost trillions of pounds. We then had the Russian war in Europe and the cost of living that it created.

Please stop rewriting history.
People voted hoping it would make things better in their lives, and they are just realising the reverse is true. They will become poorer, and the money created will be absorbed by our bloated public services and until we are ready for real root change this country will continue to decline.

Your entire first paragraph is rewriting history. Debt to GDP was better after the financial crisis (which was a world one, not caused by Labour) than it is now. Tories do not ‘clear up the mess’. Historically lots of things are worse under the Tories than under Labour - their competence is a myth.
For example, there’s this famous graph of NHS waiting lists under Tory and Labour governments.

Call a General Election? Really?
mollyminniemo · 26/11/2024 10:16

I and many people I know have signed, and we have the intelligence (unlike Labour voters and most Labour MPs) to fully understand the election system but want this to humiliate and embarrass this useless lot as Starmer clearly was when confronted with it on This Morning yesterday. They are a party fuelled by greed, bitterness and envy and are total amateurs. It’ll be 3 million before we know it and likely get to 5. You can’t just brush the level of feeling against them aside.

EasternStandard · 26/11/2024 10:18

One thing about this Labour gov is they can create their own charts and figures - on increased debt, taxes and what they do about their stagnating growth after a better first half of the year

£70bn on increased tax and borrowing for example

You reckon Labour MPs don’t understand the election system? Labour MPs who employed a strategy in the election which helped them gain a massive majority? Also Labour voters - many of whom voted for other parties this time as part of a strategy to get rid of the Tories? You’re talking nonsense.
A silly petition signed by who knows who and promoted by the likes of Musk won’t humiliate or even embarrass the government. It’s bloody obvious millions of people won’t like them - millions of people didn’t vote for them. That’s true of every government.
The greed, bitterness and envy stuff is such bobbins I can’t be othered to address it.
They can brush it aside as long as they want. They have 5 years.

So basically yiu lost get over ut. We have the intelligence as opposed to labour voters. F right off. Patronising tQuite frankley, you're not going to get your own way. It's not embarrassing, we can all see what it is it's the right wing unhappy that they lost
Oh, and if you want to talk about greed, look no further than what boris johnson did with the amount of expenses he got, but no, you won't say that will you

Tell you what I remember listening to l. BC with the last conservative government and the amount of lies an untruths, they would say, it was literally like they were painting totally different pictures from reality. The thing about the labour government, though, is I at least believe they are not charlatans and major liars

mollyminniemo · 26/11/2024 10:25

Littlemissgobby your post, with its typos, foul language, lack of any sense or evidence of intelligence or education says everything about Labour and its voters. Congratulations. You couldn’t have said it better!

The raw data is there for people to download. Same as it was for the Tory government.

Love that you are implying Labour would lie about the figures, but presume you think the Tories wouldn't?!

What alternative do you want? Do you seriously want to return to the shitshow that was the last government?

That’s utter nonsense. Look at the mess the current government has inherited. The Tories have never been left chaos like this.

Where did I imply that?

I think you've let your mind run away on that one. I'm referring to many posts that link to figures in Blair's gov on here for Labour supporters

Starmer and Reeves are now creating their own - including extra debt, taxes and stagnating growth

So you're not suggesting that Labour make up their own figures, but the Tories don't? Just asking for clarification.

I think my post was clear but I'll quote

That extra debt, and higher taxes plus lower growth will be what can be linked, not figures from a couple of decades ago.

localnotail · 26/11/2024 11:37

I said it once, I say it again. Stop being sore losers and get on with it. We had much worse than inheritace tax raise (boohoo) and no one died.

This petition is laughable and embarrassing, and is hugely beneficial to the likes of Musk and Putin. No one in this country would benefit from this idiotic suggestion - and what would you get instead of Labour? Elitist greedy incompetent Tories? Nazi Farage? What?

This talk, as well as labour bashing, is purely to create a division and unrest. Most likely whipped up by troll crap on social media and in right wing press.

Well at least after that very intolerant little spat I know to ignore everything else you have to say. Here is a tip for you stop insulting others with views you don't agree and debate like a civilised adult (preferably in coherent english) it might get you somewhere.

It is partly in response to people seeing America decide to elect a criminal. They think they could turn the UK into a lawless shithole too...

App13 · 26/11/2024 12:47

I believe in Democracy and its only fair Labour get their chance after 14 yrs.

But this petition is a great gauge for KS and RR to know how much they're appreciated.
