Well the Labour money tree that they promised didn’t materialise- funny that. Now people are pissed off, they voted for change and got kicked in the nuts. Even the ‘nasty’ tories wouldn’t allow poor pensioners to freeze half to death in their own homes!!! It’s obscene.

So yeah not surprised the public are turning against them en masse.

Which money tree was that?

The same tree they expect them to cut the magic wand from

I was wondering that.

Most people who voted Labour are sensible enough to realise that meaningful change will take years.

Indeed. And that sadly, some harsh decisions will need to be taken.

I didn't vote labour, but I am pleased to have a prime minister who isn't afraid of making the hard decisions rather than only being focused on their 'optics' and future media career.

Well at least after that very intolerant little spat I know to ignore everything else you have to say. Here is a tip for you stop insulting others with views you don't agree and debate like a civilised adult (preferably in coherent english) it might get you somewhere.

I got insulted first

So not jump on me then you haven't read the info before. I have debated very well on this post but no you think you are high and mighty.

Littlemissgobby · 26/11/2024 13:35

I said this before on here do you now want to claim that it was a rigged election like donald trump. Funny when brexit happened the same people signing that petition were so outraged when reformers wanted another go as it was based on lies

It isn’t going to happen, you are still peddling the lie. If you wait long enough Labour will transform the country…< tumbleweed literally> do you even believe this? It’s quite tragic.

It’s not a lie. People don’t seem to know what a lie is anymore.
The country is on its knees.
The government is trying to fix it.
It’ll take time.
Did you really expect nirvana in less than half a year?

I think they are achieving more than the tories didn't in last 4 years and even if they don't do much change it's not mps that go through studios and sound like they are big liars and saying stuff that isn't reality. It's been nice to listen to proper politicians again and no more culture war rubbish like kemi does

No need to be rude. Let's see where we are in 2029, shall we?

No they just stripped money and support away from disabled people, decimated the NHS and increased child poverty. Pensioners affected by this policy are not poor - most of them own their own homes outright.

DollyParton2 · 26/11/2024 14:11

Labour made more mistakes in its first 100 days – than any postwar government

There is intense disappointment at the never-ending stories from “freebie-gate”, made more intense by the outcry over removing pensioners’ winter fuel allowance, scrapping the cap on social care bills and voting to retain the two-child limit on benefit payments.

Not to mention the diabolical handling of the budget by Rachel Reeves. Bosses have warned that the upshot of Reeves’s Budget will be fewer jobs and less investment in training in what could be a hammer blow to hopes of fixing Britain’s economic inactivity crisis.

Rain Newton-Smith, chief executive of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) on Monday said that businesses were in “damage control” mode following the Chancellor’s tax raid, with nearly two-thirds of employers cutting their hiring plans as a result.

Deutsche Bank has warned the Budget measures will cost the UK economy 100,000 jobs.

The Budget measures will “absolutely” make it harder for the 9.2m people who are economically inactive in the UK to rejoin the workforce, warns Anna Leach, chief economist at the Institute of Directors (IoD).

How can anybody on here actually still defend this absolute shitshow? They've trashed the economy, and the worst is yet to come.

They specifically said there wasn’t a money tree.

@DollyParton2 I’m very interested to hear the historical basis for your “more mistakes in 100 days than any government in history” claim. Speaking as a historian of 20th century political history I find that things like facts matter. I can’t imagine you’ve just made that up. Or have you? I assume you’ve not included the Truss government in your calculations since her government only made it halfway to the hundred-day mark. In fairness to them though, they did really cram the mistakes into that time very efficiently.

I didn't vote labour, but I am pleased to have a prime minister who isn't afraid of making the hard decisions rather than only being focused on their 'optics'

This isn't true, given the sheer amount of photo ops he's engaged in as a way to promote image

Also he and Reeves should take note of the CBI, and IoD

It's all very well soft soaping with here's your 'difficult decisions' and for some bizarre reason people say ok - maybe they're not in the groups feeling the impact - but what the CBI and IoD are warning about is worsening not improving.

Labour should be concerned about that

What photo ops? Promote what? If it’s government policy that’s his job…not aware of anything else.

By doing my research before the election, it was clear things would need to become worse before getting better. Some seriously tough changes needed to be bought in.

I'm not elderly, I'm not a farmer and no one in my family has a big enough estate to be hit by any IHT, but I was quite heavily affected by the Tory government.

(again, for clarity, I didn't vote Labour in the last election)

Inherited, not created. The scaremongering is getting so tedious.

EasternStandard · 26/11/2024 15:47

Again for those going on about 'inherited' as if Labour haven't slowed growth and decreased the PMI contracting the private sector

The CBI and IoD disagree with you
