How old are you? Because you're obviously about a ten year old child, one of these stupid blokes, that thinks reform, a decent, you do realise he's not going to cry, I wouldn't cry. I would like be like who the fuck gives his s, i've got five more years and fEm.
In fact, I think I would start playing a bit more dirtier. Especially with the likes of reform who seem very happy with elon musk foreign interference, because they are not patriots, they are putin apologists, I think stamer needs to start attacking more

At least proofread before you hit post, Susan.

Labour do get angsty on here. Aim it at Starmer and Reeves

It's their policies people are reacting to.

I don't have a problem with Reeves or Starmer and as for angsty, well that seems to be from the pro tory side.

I would hazard a guess and say that very few people on here, if they were honest, have been affected by WFA, NI or IHT but they do seem to get very involved with those that do.

Like i said, the CBI have also said they can't back the Conservatives, which is a bit telling seeing as they now have a new leader.

So @EasternStandard how would you suggest Reeves pays for the £7billion thats Hunts NI cut has cost the Govt? or funds the pay reviews increases? or pays for PO and Blood scandal compensation?

Pls do not bring in public sector & NMW pay rises, they were as a result of the Tories own actions, unless of course you don't think Teachers, Nurses etc and Military deserve a 5.5% increase in pay or that the NMW should have had a lower increase?

And yet, the one I just spoke about wanting us back in the eu got over six million and it did not get debated. This is not going to get debated plus as we keep saying, many of these people signed are not real people, they are bots

many of these people signed are not real people, they are bots

How many are bots? You don't think 2 million real people dislike the current Labour government?

Over 6 million people applied to the EU settlement scheme - how many EU citizens signed the Revoke Article 50 petition?

Of course 2 million do i think in the kast election wasn't it about 5 mill that voted reform. But these are foreign accounts to its been proven you don't like that so be it. I know many that like the right are stamping their little feet and don't want labour tough I really?Really?Really, really, really can't tell you how much I hate the tories and I had fourteen years of them b, so suck the f** up

Littlemissgobby · 25/11/2024 16:32

I am half surprised that the far right haven't done a donald their hero and persuade us all the election was rigged I am waiting for that

DowntonNabby · 25/11/2024 16:43

What about the "will of the people"? We were told emphatically that Brexit couldn't be overturned because of that, yet now we're supposed to throw out the result of the GE? Clearly the will only counts when the result goes against what the Right wants.

6 million voted a petition to rejoin eu that never got debated ....

Clavinova · 25/11/2024 16:46

But these are foreign accounts

How many 'foreign accounts'? And why can't British citizens in Spain, Australia or Thailand etc. (whether living there or on holiday) sign the petition?

EasternStandard · 25/11/2024 16:47

I haven't insulted anyone and am nowhere near angsty

It seems to me the CBI were sold a line, that's the surprising part imo. What's happening now in terms of contraction and declining of growth fit with policies and pre GE approach

I understand some groups will still be pro Labour - mainly public sector and state paid but others are falling away each week.

Labour will keep going but we'll see how they deal with public spending, that £70bn can't happen each year

Whats the alternative kemi at unserious 12 million an hour pledges .
Or reform who are Russian apologists
Maybe lib dems I could see them in power
But we have first past the post
And we have fixed terms so factor all that do u think conservatives may scrape back in. Maybe they will but kemi isn't great https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/unserious-kemi-badenoch-pledges-12million-34177078

'Unserious' Kemi Badenoch pledges £12million per hour with unfunded wishlist

Analysis of Kemi Badenoch's record reveals she's made pledges and opposed policies worth £7.6billion - but not said what she would cut instead after backing Labour spending

I do question the extra national insurance on businesses though as care agencies say they will be impacted and might not want to hire people.

Badenoch has already refused to say that she will reverse the NI rise at the CBI today

You don't think it's a problem that (allegedly) 2 million people think it would be reasonable to allow a democratically held election to be redone because they don't like the results?

You can't say "this is democracy, people peacefully signing petitions about stuff", when the stuff they're signing a petition about is them wanting to undermine democracy itself!

Not really, they can ask and express that they are unhappy but they are not entitled to get it. Same as the brexit referendum same as the last time somebody wanted another election. There is nothing inherently wrong with it, we have a system of checks and balances, a petition asking fora debate isn’t an instruction to the government.

It’s a democracy and these people are basically protesting in a very civilised way.

Nowhere in my post did I suggest there should be another general election. I think though that it’s good that we have avenues for people to have a moan if they want. It’s part of living in a free society.

I don’t understand why anyone’s getting upset about this at all. There will be no general election, it’s some of the population who may are upset and they are allowed to say so. If we are going to start finger wagging at protesters can we start doing it to people who intimidate or block roads instead. Some Mp’s having to get up and say “no, I’m not calling a general election” is hardly going to hurt anyone is it.

cakeorwine · 25/11/2024 12:09

As posted elsewhere

I have no doubt that if such a system had existed in 1979, then there would be a petition to call for a General Election after Thatcher had won.
And one when she won again.
And again
And when Major won
And when Blair won.
And when Cameron won
And May
Etc
And especially when Johnson won

This.

People voted
Labour won. They have been in government a few months.
There's 14 years of mismanagement of the NHS and social care services and other problems to sort. These problems need money to sort. WFA gone for wealthier pensioners, tax on private school fees and farmers paying a half rate of inheritance tax after 3 million untaxed (if married couple) and some are joining a petition of moans. No answers to solving the 14 years of problems of course.

Labour has not targeted poor people - they targeted people who can afford to take a hit. Which is ethically correct. My parents are losing their winter fuel allowance and they aren't whining.

People who are poor / disabled should not be targeted. Are so many people this selfish that you want to continue to see vulnerable people shat on as long as you are ok?

We can do better than this selfishness.

Blueuggboots · 25/11/2024 19:35

My very very conservative cousin thinks this is gong somewhere?! 🤷🏻‍♀️🙈🙈🙈

Littlemissgobby · 25/11/2024 19:43

I have just spoken on the radio to Iain Dale on lbc. This is after he bloody well interviews Richard TICE. This is the man who sits in reform party who didn’t agree with the petition when 6 million signed it because they wanted to overturn the Brexit decision. This is the same person who stated with Nigel Farage that we shouldn’t listen to foreign presidents, et cetera, when Obama was talking about Brexit, but he has just tweeted that Elon Musk is going to be Influencing our politics and he likes it
This is hypocritical and then he says it’s about putting pressure on the government. Nope he has put this pressure since they got in power. Unfortunately there is a very much of an element of right wing people who believe they can do a little coup in taking over

Lyannaa · 25/11/2024 19:59

They think this is America where criminals can run for office and where people get out of jail one week and run for mayor the next. The UK is nothing like America. They probably spend too much time talking to gun-toting Americans.

Ra1nRa1n · 25/11/2024 20:08

There have been numerous calls for another Brexit election and lots of requests for general elections when the Tories were in power. What’s the big deal?
