Be kind!

Losingthetimber · 21/11/2024 08:45

He’s the main show presenter, the other two are not. They are the judges/chefs. I quite like him and find him kind often. Most presenters are not experts in the program area. Think bake off. Alison and what’s his name aren’t bakers, the judges/bakers are pru and Paul.

Mittens67 · 21/11/2024 08:51

Slimey arrogant old lecher. Would never surprise me if a big scandal comes out in later years.

Wonderi · 20/11/2024 21:12

I’ve never watched it but I’ve heard he’s one of the nicest people and really down to earth.

I've heard he's only interested if you're young, beautiful and blonde

He’s happily married and to a brunette, so doubt it.

patchworkbear · 21/11/2024 09:07

I must be the only one to find him to be annoying but good on the show. I find Marcus has a death stare that gives me the creeps and Monica flat in tone and feedback.

eqpi4t2hbsnktd · 21/11/2024 09:17

Has anyone seen Horrible Histories? They do a sketch on MC and Greggg is spot on. Just shouts "FOOD! YUM!"....

LilacLilyBird · 21/11/2024 09:22

It's Marcus I can't stand

He makes my skin crawl

As for Gregg meh he doesn't bother me

Love Monica

WinterBones · 21/11/2024 09:32

i can tolerate gregg, but i LOATHE John Torode, wish he'd fuck off. Ruined his palate eating spicy food and does nothing but moan about sauce and spice not being enough.

Markus is a bit annoying, he seems so set in his unwillingness to try new things.. he's got better recently, think a few of the chefs have opened his eyes a bit over the last couple of years.

Love Monica, only thing that grates is how she pronounces butter, and i know its an accent thing, it just jars 'booter'.

Justleaveitblankthen · 21/11/2024 09:46

Have never watched any cookery or baking show, they bore me.

I like the Factory show Gregg does, when he shows how Baked beans are produced for example, but the noisy atmosphere just gives him perfect excuse to bellow.

I can't put my finger on why he's so annoying.

And why does he wear a hairnet? Sweaty scalp? 😂

GoodLaudanum · 21/11/2024 17:51

Oh no @NoneGiven - why did Buttery Biscuit Bass get deleted?

leafybrew · 21/11/2024 17:55

Horrible man. I'm still getting over his 'typical Saturday'

Yessss 😂 completely with you on that one.

I wonder if keeps up with his journalling too.

leafybrew · 21/11/2024 18:00

By 3pm, he retreats to his home office where he plays the videogame Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia for two hours.
In the evening, he said he cooks for his family once a week – “grilled fish from the fishmonger at the local farmshop”.
Though Wallace’s column has some more entertaining moments – like his protest against eating biscuits on the sofa and his infatuation with the Harvester salad bar – many readers have criticised the Masterchef host for the way he portrayed the dynamics of his family life.

leafybrew · 21/11/2024 18:02

@WinterBones tbf - not keen on Torodes either. He seems rather odious - but couldn't say why.

Feeling quite post menopausal today 😂

BellissimoGecko · 21/11/2024 18:20

soupfiend · 20/11/2024 20:55

Also to be honest I dont like Marcus either he has no warmth about him at all, very dry and cold

I like John but thats not professional MC I think

I wish he would wash his hair.

GoodLaudanum · 21/11/2024 18:22

I just had to look up the typical Saturday.

2 hours of Total War Saga does not make you an 'amateur historian.
He only agreed to having a child if he could have 1 week a year on holiday without the child.

What an absolute fucking bellend.

. . . and the one meal is week is a fucking fish and chip sandwich!

What a hero.

mondaytosunday · 21/11/2024 18:57

I like him. My DD won't watch the professionals as she hates Monica and after reading how Waring treats young chefs not very keen on him either.

FrangipaniBlue · 22/11/2024 00:08

Meh I can live with Gregg but Marcus saying woo-sabi gives me the absolute fuckin rage Angry

ODFOx · 22/11/2024 00:35

I scrolled through pages of Gregg bashing while nodding sagely but now the Marcus and Monica bashing has started I'm stepping in. Marcus has a twinkle ( which is old lady code for '10 years ago I would have, given an opportunity' and I won't hear a word against Monica (except that she pronounces butter in a hilarious way) because she named her restaurant after her Mum. I had lunch there once and it was lovely.
We nearly always agree with their judgements and their judgements doing is mostly consistent.
Poor Gregg is there to represent the common man who does not judge food on its skill or complexity but on whether it brings pleasure. Early in his tv career someone pointed out that he has a slight overbite, which is why now when he smiles he makes sure that his top and bottom teeth align, even though it looks like a rictus grin, or Elf when he says 'smiling's my favourite!'.

SnowFrogJelly · 22/11/2024 01:06

He does say slippery a lot Hmm

SnowFrogJelly · 22/11/2024 01:06

Marcus should really get a haircut!

poetryandwine · 22/11/2024 02:33

Thank you, @ODFOx

O the basis of the show I also quite like Monica and Marcus. I don’t know anything about the latter’s treatment of young chefs and would find any abuse a turn off, but agree that he’s got a twinkle.

polydactylfeline · 22/11/2024 06:46

ColinOfficeTrolley · 20/11/2024 20:37

Haha. I don't think he does much on 'The Professionals' version.

I do prefer Monica and Marcus to John and Greg.

I like Monica & Marcus too - clearly very good at what they do and qualified to critique up and coming chefs.

EnYar · 22/11/2024 07:18

I get irrationally annoyed by him saying “had more cooking”. Can you have past tense of a verb like that?!

Just say it’s undercooked or you like it more well done.
