I bathed her this morning for the first time in well over a year as she rolled in poop. This was the result… she sleeps under the duvet with us every night.. how am I not ill? 🥴

Surely you must just smell like dog all day long.

She probably does this thing most people do every morning... "wash." New concept to you?

Wellingtonspie · 19/11/2024 19:42

Simonjt · 19/11/2024 18:34

Do you wear your bedding as clothes?

No but if your bedding smells like dog, and your sleeping with a dog unless your shower and wash your hair in the morning you will smell like dog.

I sleep in washed sheets, so any smell is sheets and me. No dogs or cats or children.

What full hair wash too?

Swivelhead · 19/11/2024 19:43

... er, yeah?

Though the OP said they sleep in her bed. Not on her fucking head

BO and dog are unclean scents so obviously I object to both of those. Why are you rationalising being smelly?!

I’m not rationalising being smelly at all - but you can’t control what people do? It’s literally none of your business and your needs don’t take priority over anyone else..

YOU think dogs are smelly. Someone that owns dogs DONT think they are smelly 🤷🏻‍♀️

Plus why do you even care what other people do in their own homes??

Tapthisscreen · 19/11/2024 19:44

You’re telling on yourself @Wellingtonspie why so shocked that people shower and wash their hair in the morning?

Clean people do that every morning. Sheets and stale sweat, lovely.

Yeah @Wellingtonspie looks like you might be the stinky one if having a shower and washing your hair each morning is such a strange concept!!

Tapthisscreen · 19/11/2024 19:47

Might have to name you Smellingtonspie.

That’s one way to justify gross hygiene standards to yourself.

Gross to you

Wellingtonspie · 19/11/2024 19:51

I wash my hair of an evening yeah. Don’t have the time to wash and dry it in the mornings.

A wash sure but not a hair wash with long thick hair.

Dog is not an unclean scent. It is just a scent. All living things smell. I used to love the smell of my budgie (how he never got accidentally inhaled by me, I don't know).
It just happens that you don't like the smell that dogs have.

ImthatBoleyngirl · 19/11/2024 19:58

My German Shepherd sleeps on my bed. She makes a good pillow!

Exactly! All smells are objective

Thats why there’s a plethora of different perfumes , washing powders etc…

Thank god we all like different things in life!

I know, dog owners houses and clothes smell of dog. So if it was a goat, everyone would say fgs don’t stink of goat but because it is a dog it is somehow different, plus they want to bring their animals to shops, hotels and cafes, so won’t even leave them in their stinky home whete at least others have a choice to visit or not.

Tell me you hate dogs without telling me you hate dogs. Horrible person. People rely on dogs, they are beautiful and loyal, something you will not experience unless you love a dog

leftfootinletfootout · 19/11/2024 20:50

Mine hogs the bed every night, all 37kg of her. I wouldn't have it any other way

StripeyDeckchair · 19/11/2024 21:03

I have a firm no animals upstairs rule.
On bed is bad
In bed is gross

Tapthisscreen · 19/11/2024 22:19

I feel bad for all the dogs that are locked away downstairs alone all night.

No I do not like dogs. Nor people or houses that smell of them. Controversial…

You are so lucky - enjoy every moment with your lovely girl!

Full seeping Anal glands in your bed. Sticky dog knobs on your sheets. Just no!

If your dog has seeping anal glands then go to the vet. And review what you are feeding them, it's not healthy or normal.

Female dogs don't have knobs, sticky or otherwise. And most male dogs don't have them out and 'sticky' when going to sleep.

Me too, and the dogs who are shut away down there (mine sometimes choose to sleep down there but they can come up whenever)... unable to come tell their humans that they're cold/need the toilet/scared of something/feeling ill etc.

Sometimes dogs need to sleep near their social group - thats us, in case anyones in any doubt there, dogs evolved to be with us! - denying them this isn't good for them and can cause some serious problems if its expected before they have the relevant skills. (if anyone has a 'no dogs upstairs' home but is happy to go sleep downstairs with the dog should the dog need that, fair enough of course!).

vodkaredbullgirl · 20/11/2024 04:55

I'm on a night shift and can't wait to go to bed, with my dogs curled up on top of the bed.

leftfootinletfootout · 20/11/2024 06:55

Just told my big daft Goldie that's she's apparently gross and unhygienic, don't think she's arsed 🤷🏻‍♀️

hattie43 · 20/11/2024 07:19

Also most houses don't have the heating on overnight so all sleeping in bed keeps us all warm , dogs included .
