Ah, loving all the cat pics! Absolutely beautiful 😻. Here’s my addition to the cat party 😁.

morning spoonies 🥄.

Im glad you at least got to the bottom of things with the school Laura and got it on record that you do not agree with him being taken out of school. What a total wanker your ex is using the traveller law as a loophole. I think you’re doing the right thing just not engaging with him on any level, not reporting him, he’s nothing. I imagine from what you said before that your son might cramp his style a bit in Liverpool so hopefully he won’t be keen to take him again. Well done for staying so strong. You’re an amazing mum who truly wants the best for her kids, unlike him.

Thats so sweet that your son sent that message about the good to go bags 💕. I love that they are excited about seeing and staying at yours. I bet they’ll love it. Great lamp too, hope your daughter loves it.

Hope your massive ham is delicious.

I love the scrapbook, that’s amazing 💕💕.

Morning spoonies @Imbluedalale
I am just about to have a cuppa and put a wash on.
Such is my glamorous life.
At home today so staying in my PJs.
Gammon, peas and potatoes sounds gorgeous!

He's on high alert at me taking his picture! He's ventured out into the cold, proper freezing here today.
@PeggyMitchellsCameo I got up and put a pair of long socks on with my warm PJ bottoms, jumper and dressing gown. This is me for the day! Huge cup of builders on the desk in front me.

spoonfulofmustard · 21/11/2024 07:57

morning all! love all the fellow kitty pics! 😻hx

Apolloneuro · 21/11/2024 09:20

Oh your cat is gawjus @RaspberryBeretxx

What is it about cats and boxes and bags!

Apolloneuro · 21/11/2024 09:21

We’ve actually got sleety snow down here in Devon. Mayhem follows and loads of schools shut. Hopefully the sun will come out and melt it all away.

RaspberryBeretxx · 21/11/2024 09:25

Loving that you’re both staying in pjs. I’m only dressed because I gave ds a lift to school (he tried to say he felt sick then felt bad for lying and came clean he just didn’t want to do games first thing in the freezing cold!). Dd is still in pjs!

loving the avalanche of mugs Laura. I have some that I love but they get so tea stained for some reason. Where did your little tower in your cupboard pic for your plates come from? Or was it just in the cupboard? Looks so handy.

kittylion2 · 21/11/2024 09:28

Just adding my cat tax here - Ruby. This photo is a couple of years old and she is a Senior Cat now (so she says), she does still look much the same though. Cats and spoons eh? All the good things! Hope your throat is improving @Imbluedalale !

Thank you! they do love boxes and bags. I once put some greaseproof paper in a tin to make brownies and she went and sat in it. I thought “well, I suppose they’d be cooked” but couldn’t get the idea of cats bum brownies out of my head and had to get a new piece of greaseproof to go in 🤣.

your cat is so pretty, love a black cat 🐈‍⬛😻 and so cute that she tucks herself under the blanket. Mine sometimes gets under the duvet with ds 🥰.

Aw, so gorgeous! Love a ginger cat too 💕💕.

kittylion2 · 21/11/2024 10:11

Aw thanks @RaspberryBeretxx - she constantly reminds me that ginger girls are quite rare so I should treasure her more. I tell her that ginger girls are known to be a bit spicy, and that is is rumoured that all gingers share the same one brain cell. If that's true I don't think she's had her turn yet.

Your cat looks such a sweetie - my first cat was a tabby and white so I have a soft spot for them. I still miss her and I got her in 1981! Yours looks to have an angelic face - wonder if it reflects her true personality!

Good morning spoonies! I was out like a light last night so lovely to catch up on the chat.
@Imbluedalale glad you are enjoying the cookies. I had considered getting you some mugs but thought it would be one if the first things you buy so I didn't bother. Just as well by the looks of those cupboards. I love a Disney mug because they are HUGE!!! Sturdy! One is from 2013 and I got a back up for 6 quid in last year's sale. I have one in work too!
@BeNavyCrab some good insights on SEN. We've never looked at not using table and chair but they have tried many different seating settings. School triggers my child massively. He wants to go but just can't. I hear high school can really make all the difference but at this point he won't be recommended for one if he isn't attending primary. He only does a short day but even that's too much. I'm asking for ED psychology assessment at home and I will take it from there. I feel stuck myself now.

Good morning @nornironlady , I have just received a lovely Christmas decoration from you it’s absolutely gorgeous and I can’t wait to put it on my tree, thank you so much. And a lovely letter and card which I’m going to keep forever. Cooker men are here fitting my cooker and I’m sobbing happy tears at the table 😂 Thank you ☺️
I’m glad to hear you have had a nice sleep, I didn’t sleep too good with my throat got to sleep about 4am and woke up at 8am and thought ‘ohhhh I’ll have another cheeky hour or two all snuggled up’ , that didn’t happen cooker man arrived at 8.15 and then the drilling men with a forklift starting drilling my drive like they was possessed!
The cookies you got me are absolutely delicious I sent you a pic but I looked like the Cookie Monster last night 😂
I do like a huge mug too. I can’t stop drinking tea no wonder I’m up so many times in the night to go toilet. Thought I’d be nice to the possessed drill men outside and offered them a cup of tea but they asked for coffee and well I don’t have coffee at the moment so I felt really bad but the thought was there.
I hope your ED psychology assessment comes soon for your son, thinking of you and sending big hugs xx

Hi @RaspberryBeretxx , how are you today?
Happy day before Friday.
Your cat is absolutely beautiful ❤️
Ex is a big massive bellend arsebandit wanker but at least I don’t have to see his bald head again and whilst he’s a big problem he’s not my problem anymore so will just have to keep calm and carry on.
My eldest rang me last night and we had a talk on the phone which was nice and he said he will come and see me soon.
I’ll let you know what the ham is like It looks like it’s going to last forever 😂
Thank you for your lovely comments about being an amazing mum and liking my scrapbook 📔.
Massive hugs xx

Morning @Apolloneuro , how’s your morning going? What is it with snow and schools closing? When I was younger I used to walk 5 miles in the snow to school and it was about a foot deep 😂
My daughter hates when I say that then she goes ‘and yes mam and you had to climb a 50ft fence and walk through the trenches and do it all again on your way home’ 😂xx

Awww your son sounds adorable I don’t blame him for not wanting to do pe especially in this weather.
I have a good tip for tea stains in mugs , you wet the cup so it’s damp inside , then coat the stain with baking powder probably about a teaspoon full. Leave for 10 mins . Fill cup quarter way with white vinegar and then was out . Wella…. Tea stains gone .
I actually got my plate tower second hand for £2 but Amazon do them if you search ‘corner plate tower’ xx

I remember going to school in deep snow too. I was told that schools tended to stay open then because more of the staff worked locally and could get there more easily, don't know if it's true. I've also been told that parents are more litigious nowadays so if children fall in a snowy playground and hurt themselves, the school could be in trouble. It used to be that if staff couldn't get into their own school, they should report to a local school, but I think (quite rightly) safeguarding put paid to that - I guess they could have had just anyone turning up at the door!

That’s very true @kittylion2 , I didn’t think of it like that. I remember when my children were little we had snow so bad one year that when I opened my front door it was as high as me , you couldn’t go out in it and everything was shut for about a week xx

I’m so pleased your eldest spoke on the phone. I know it wasn’t nice the way he behaved before, but he’s influenced by a terribly misogynistic culture, as well as having a terrible role model in his father.

How incredible that you are showing him women can be strong and independent.

The weather needs to pack it in, because I’m meant to be going to London tomorrow, on the train.
