To try and find some good teens books that don't push the LGBTQ agenda?

Trying to get some books for my daughter who is in S1, books are either too young or they all have a blurb that alludes to the main character's sexual preferences. Would love it if anyone could recommend something your pre-teens, or young teens are reading that don't include those topics? They already get enough information about it in school and the internet.

Your very very short hand is in fact just propagating stereotypes and untruths which are actively harmful

But sure walk away

Trans ideology is only gender stereotypes and nothing else. Regressive garbage.

This is an anonymous forum. What on earth do you think I would be getting out of “virtue signalling” on an anonymous forum? ( especially on mumsnet where supporting trans people makes you the devil incarnate in the eyes of the overwhelming majority of users? )

Because you are on a crusade to change the opinions of all those wicked far right bigots - of course. You can tell people on Reddit, or your local LGBTQIA supporter group what a tremendous ally you were.

I mean I could tell people that anyway and save myself all the trouble.
Again, it’s an anonymous forum.

Point at the transphobia.

human’s can’t change sex.

there are only two sexes

sex matters.

I'm not going through all the posts on mumsnet to point out the transphobic posters. An example would be the post below you suggest that "trans ideology is regressive, sexist and conforming - not to mention authoritarian and judgemental"

mathanxiety · 21/11/2024 16:54

@wombat15 can you explain why you believe it's none of those things?

mathanxiety · 21/11/2024 17:06

wombat15 · 20/11/2024 19:21

Oh yes, Enid Blyton didn't have any female characters that hated being a girl, dressed as boys and insisted everyone called them a boys name.😂

But nobody suggested she was actually a boy and a mistake had been made somewhere.

George was a character who protested the supporting (gender) role assigned to girls in the years when the stories were written.

Because being trans is not an “ideology” it’s just a characteristic of some people. There’s nothing inherently wrong with being trans. it’s entirely prejudiced to declare the mere fact of being trans, or recognising / accepting trans people : “regressive, sexist, conforming , authoritarian and judgemental”.

George was not protesting “the supporting (gender) role assigned to girls” If that was all they were doing they wouldn't try to look like a boy, insist on being called by a boy's name and be pleased if they were mistaken for a boy. They were quite happy for Anne and other girls to follow the role assigned to girls.

None of those things are transphobic.

they are just examples of statements you don’t agree with.

trans ideology is all of those things.

George was in fact challenging the stereotypes of what it is to be a girl, not conforming with the stereotypes of being a boy or ever , ever saying f she was or could be a boy

because humans can’t change sex

Yes I would. But you can’t tell me why any of the things I have said are untrue

or tell me how it is transphobic to point out that trans ideology is regressive, sexist and authoritarian

Wrong? No I don’t think it’s wrong to pop on a dress and call yourself sandra

i think it’s wrong to try and force other people to accept you’re a woman

wrong to enter female spaces

wrong to believe humans can’t change sex

wrong to say there are women’s things and clothes and men’s things and clothes and you are one or the other.

wrong to say if you’re female and you fancy short hair and trousers, you’re a boy.

She wasn't challenging stereotypes. She said that she didn't want to be a girl She only answered to being called me George rather than Georgina and was very pleased if anyone thought she was a boy.

And MN continues to let this derailed, phobic thread continue
Disgusting

Sexuality no - but transgender and other TQIA ideology have a definitely spread by social contagion

People have said EXACTLY the same about autism, ADHD and homosexuality.

'Didn't use to be all this 'special needs nonsense in my day'. 🙄

izimbra · 21/11/2024 19:41

"Wrong? No I don’t think it’s wrong to pop on a dress and call yourself sandra"

The absolute contempt inherent in this comment and in your post. You've never spent one minute considering what trans people go through.

And I guarantee you'll insist you're not transphobic.

GiddyRobin · 21/11/2024 19:51

I'm not going to reply back to anyone, because I know the logic. Especially the person who wants to fuck Trump yet in their history says they have no friends IRL.

This thread is disgusting. I am sickened by the hate, I'm shocked MN thinks this is okay. If this was a thread by a man saying they didn't want books with women as main characters, the replies would be very different.

It's like going back in time. The same things I heard about gay people as a kid, the hate towards trans people - acting like they're all mentally ill. I know some trans people and no, they aren't. They're just like you and me. People with their own lives and upset, and gender is one of them. HRT also almost deadens sex drive for AMAB folk, did anyone know that? No one in your bogs is thinking about fucking you. No matter what the Daily Mail says.

It doesn't surprise me that this hasn't been deleted because there's a prolific poster on here who always "wins".

To those who might read this and feel terrible; this is not the view of most people. Even religious people. My neighbour is a church goer and I've been to her meetings. They don't care. They're open. They care about people being happy and being alive.

Again, I won't be replying so quote me until you turn so blue you're purple. But this thread is bigoted.

Right?

"People are only mentally ill because it's trendy"

It's all gross
