Posted here as it gets the most traffic. This is by far the worst news I’ve heard all year. Imagine at the age you were meant to start secondary school instead being forced to marry and have sex with an older man. Completely disgusting!!!

Disgusting. There is no consent about it. A 9 year old wouldn't be consenting at that age. Really horrible. Disgusting men and disgusting world.

The horrors of life for women and girls in Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan and other Muslim countries hardly bears thinking about. Not sure what Western governments can do other than condemning these laws and giving their support to Israel.

Er what? That's a bit of a reach. Plenty of Muslim countries are fine to live in. Even if they weren't, encouraging a war is not going to improve things for women and girls.

Which Muslim countries have equal rights for women/protections for girls? I think the West needs to have the courage of its convictions to say women are equal citizens and girls should be protected.

If Israel is destroyed don't kid yourself that women and girls in the west are going to continue to be free.

What kind of man in Iraq wants a 9yo wife? If he later has daughters and loves them does he actually think I know what, let’s marry my beloved DD off to another man/DH and let him subject her to rape and DV because the law says I can. What a horrific mentality to have and perpetuate in law.

Israel has maintained one of the lowest civilian to combatant ratios in the history of urban warfare, after a terrorist attack that literally decimated their population, and that was achieved by taking advantage of increased work permits and softening of the border.

That country gets worse every passing day.

And then people wonder why there's an increase in immigration.

As asked, in what Muslim country are women's rights protected and girls will have the same equal access to opportunities as her male counterparts?
However when reading around the age of consent, apparently Germany will lower there's to 6 under some circumstances and many women from thr US claim that in reality (prosecutions etc) it might as well be 12 in some states.
