Hi everyone. We're dropping in because we've had to remove several posts from this thread. We recognise it's an important discussion and so in order to ensure it can carry on, we need you to bear a few things in mind. While, on the whole, we think it’s fine to critique ideas, beliefs, and practices, there is nothing to be gained by stereotyping, generalising or making blanket statements about any religion or its members. In our experience, points made with supporting evidence and with reasoned arguments do far more to ensure the discussion is constructive and useful.
Posts that promote hatred, violence, or discrimination against individuals or groups based on religion, race, or any other identity will be removed, and repeat offenders will be banned. We have zero-tolerance for hate speech on Mumsnet - please report anything like this if you spot it on the boards.
