Where is Kamala?

Just saw this post on X, and I tend to agree...

"Kamala lost as she campaigned - a coward who couldn't face the media, couldn't handle the pressure. Didn't even have the character required to concede on election night. Went home to sulk. The opposite of presidential material."

Really and truly was there nobody with any substance the Democrats could have put forward. What on earth did they expect. The bar was so low.

@Annabella92 This post from X describes one of the candidates very accurately.

  1. Couldn’t face the media during the election except for Fox
  2. Refused to have further debates after the first one.
  3. Did not concede after losing the election, in fact 4 years later is still going on about ‘stolen election’
However, they got the name wrong. But I agree that he is the opposite of presidential material. I don’t think Americans have chosen well.

Why do you feel sorry for OP? 🤔

Because it’s just so unnecessary to perpetuate the nastiness and bitterness. I used to be that person too and it’s totally counterproductive.

What a strange comment.

Not really. Have you seen some
of the other contributions to the thread?

HRTQueen · 06/11/2024 20:55

She is on the phone right now demanding recounts

except she isn’t is she as Kamala Harris respects democracy and she is preparing herself for the most difficult speech she will ever have to make knowing that many will be blaming her for allowing Trump to win

I don’t think anyone is being nasty, it’s just a chance to give opinions on political figures and their beliefs, behaviors etc

Puzzledandpissedoff · 06/11/2024 20:57

If you are saying that the Democrats probably deserved to lose, you are effectively saying that it was right that Trump won. It's pretty obvious the two are linked

I honestly get the rationale, @BotanicalGreen, but the truth is that I don't feel either were fit to win and just wish better candidates had been found

WooleyMunky · 06/11/2024 20:59

The Democrats should have pushed Biden out and primaried their nominee.
It would have given Harris et al more credibility with the electorate.

Also the Dems spent too much time on issues that did not cut through.
Trump zeroed in on the economy and immigration.
And won.

The number of voters that cared about his offences, LGBT issues, abortion and reproductive rights - lost to the voters that cared about the economy, jobs, and immigration.

In the UK, the first Conservative leader that pulls the same playbook will put them back in government within three years, after a probable confidence vote.

Exactly.

WinterMorn · 06/11/2024 21:00

@Ludoo it is nasty to label someone cowardly and say that they are sulking after such a momentous and life changing event. I doubt very much the majority of the people on this thread will achieve even a modicum of what KH has done.

The misogyny and double standards on this and many other election threads is depressing, if illuminating.

Because the woman candidate is not 'nice', or is not kowtowing sufficiently, bring on the fascists, eh?

Nothing to do with her sex, Rishi was gracious in defeat last time I think he even apologised to his party.

JollyPinkFox · 06/11/2024 21:05

Can you imagine losing to that disgusting specimen? I expect she is devastated, if not for her own loss then for what's happening in her country?

Werecat · 06/11/2024 19:01

If she couldn’t manage to concede and to give her own supporters - who has stayed up all night for her - a short speech that someone else would write for her anyway, that merely underlines her lack of suitability for the job.

Ironic that you address "lack of suitability for the job" given the candidate that America has just endorsed!!!

LadyGabriella · 06/11/2024 21:12

Still nothing!

ColaCar · 06/11/2024 19:36

It’s because she’s pathetic. Never stood a chance. Shes probably laughing into thin air somewhere

It doesn't mean she's "pathetic". It means she never stood a chance against the deluded Trump apologists who'd sooner see a racist, misogynist, convicted criminal in the White House than a black woman.

Shame of them.

Trump didn't give a loss acceptance speech last time though did he?

So why should Kamala.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 06/11/2024 21:13

Looks like the flag fiddler's finished anyway ...

Trump didn't give a loss acceptance speech last time though did he?

Because it’s politically the right thing to do..

BellyPork · 06/11/2024 21:15

Is she having a meltdown?

Sandygoldenbeaches · 06/11/2024 21:15

LadyGabriella · 06/11/2024 21:14

Well it didn't hurt trump when he didn't give one

adriftinadenofvipers · 06/11/2024 21:16

ThirtyfourBees · 06/11/2024 19:42

Another climate change whack job. At least Trump knows the score.

Trump doesn't know "the score"! He cares about no-one but himself!

BellyPork · 06/11/2024 21:17

God awful music too

Puzzledandpissedoff · 06/11/2024 21:18

I'm watching it live - or rather hoping to - @EasternStandard, and so far it's just people peering at the podium and fiddling with the flags

biscuitandcake · 06/11/2024 21:18

FfsBrian · 06/11/2024 20:43

Apparently she’s cancelled speeches despite people turning up and is getting ‘aggressively pissed'
