Where is Kamala?

Just saw this post on X, and I tend to agree...

"Kamala lost as she campaigned - a coward who couldn't face the media, couldn't handle the pressure. Didn't even have the character required to concede on election night. Went home to sulk. The opposite of presidential material."

Really and truly was there nobody with any substance the Democrats could have put forward. What on earth did they expect. The bar was so low.

And your comment is "adult conversation"???

I give you -

Why always insults!? Really is baffling.
And boring. 😴

That really gave a complex addition to the debate!

I obviously meant adult conversation with adults, i.e, not someone just throwing childish insults around!

Frankly cannot be bothered.

I think she rose to the challenge that was thrust upon her admirably. I wasn’t a fan before the campaigning but I warmed to her and I loved tim Walz. I was so excited for them to win. And I truly believed they would from here in Philadelphia - I drove around the city and into New Jersey and Pennsylvania countryside and saw almost as many Harris signs as trump ones - way less trump signs than the last two elections.

instead we have lost everything. House, senate, trust in humanity. It is horrifying. And this goady post is not helping anyone.

I think I was most excited not to ever have to hear his voice again. It is going to be a long 4 years. I hope he does not survive it.

Only a gullible moron would go on about this. Trump is the worst of all possible choices for the US and the world.
Right wing thinking will be the end of us all eventually.

Swivelhead · 08/11/2024 11:37

For the US... maybe. None of my business.

For the world? It is probably a better outcome. The Democrats are masters of war in in Bob Dylan sense, and Trump's financial interests do not lie that way so he is not.

What is right wing thinking exactly?

OP posts:

What is right wing thinking exactly?

It's when you take decisions based on a fear of losing your privileges with no regard to the long term damage caused to society/ humanity.

There is such a thing as right/left wing trains of thought but this is a poor example. There are plenty of positions in leftist politics that take this stance.

MillyMichaelson · 08/11/2024 13:32

I think a lot of people think that @Annabella92

Unfortunately then we'd get JD Vance but...him dying may not actually be the worst thing for the country/world.

That's interesting. How many right wingers do you know? Or read? Or speak to?

@Annabella92 Well, unrelated to whom I know and who my friends are, I happen to have common knowledge about various political ideologies.
Ask away, if there's anything else you don't know and I'll do my best...

Swivelhead · 08/11/2024 19:51

Such common knowledge is about as common as common sense.

namethisbird · 08/11/2024 19:53

As already mentioned, the democrats were never going to win with Kamala she just isn’t/wasnt a strong enough candidate.
Let’s see what Trump 2.0 brings it can’t be worse than Biden.

AnotherChildFreeCatLady · 08/11/2024 20:04

She did give a speech. And let's not talk about lack of substance from the Democrats shall we? Trump is a fucking idiot who only knows how to make hate speeches. Yes, a lot of Americans voted for him, but a lot of Americans are also idiots and I'm looking forward to seeing the ones who voted for him getting exactly what they voted for. cough mass deportations.

Edited

Clearly you have no clue what Biden actually did. And Trump will very much be worse than Biden. Biden at least surrounded himself with capable people, Trump has already told us the kind of people he will surround himself with and none of them are remotely capable.

I'm not that worried about Vance. He is horrible for sure but he's also unelectable and would be in the exact same position as Kamala was, riding on the coattails of his predecessor. Trump is vile but he has something his supporters can't get enough of, Vance on the other hand has the personality of a piece of wallpaper. So the hope is, Trump dies soon, vance gets in and then a wave of competent Democrats come in on the next round and clean it all up, like the Democrats always do.

I hope he dies and he's old and unhealthy so that's looking quite likely. C'mon Trump, keeping scarring down those hamburgers and do the world a favour you prick.

Could not agree more with all of this.

MillyMichaelson · 08/11/2024 20:39

Oh yeah agree @AnotherChildFreeCatLady I don't think Vance is any kind of political powerhouse, but the MAGA runs deep in the Republican Party now, so we're stuck with the ideology in the mid-long term no matter what.

I'm not sure there are many grown ups left in the GOP to wrestle it back to the pre-Sarah Palin days.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 08/11/2024 22:28

Besides the point I know, but never mind "where's Kamala" for a moment - where are the counters in Arizona?

Three days now and they've still not called it, with only 78% of the vote tallied so far Confused

I suppose if someone said we should have killed Hitler before he did what he did you would have found that wrong too? Of course you would have, the right love fascists. Trump is Hitler without the intelligence, surrounded by a swarm of brainwashed idiots, ready to do whatever he asks of them. So yes, I'll say it again, I can't wait for the prick to die.

Off topic but I would have found that wrong! Someone worse would have replaced him. Maybe someone with the tactical sense not to invade Russia or march on Moscow in the middle of winter.
Besides, look at what happened when Caesar was assassinated in order to "save" the Roman republic. It was the final nail in the coffin of the Roman Republic. As soon as you legitimise political violence you destroy the only argument Democracy has for its legitimatacy. Germany might never have got back a proper democracy if that had happened (at the very least there would be much more disgruntled NeoNazis who felt Germany had been stabbed in the back once again).
Also, every human being has inherent worth as a human (and the living face of god if you go in for Christianity). Killing is wrong.secretly hoping someone dies as the above poster did is less wrong (and completely different) but it's still misguided in my opinion.

MillyMichaelson · 09/11/2024 13:48

The MAGA ideology that seems to have taken over the GOP now, root and branch @Annabella92
