Where is Kamala?

Just saw this post on X, and I tend to agree...

"Kamala lost as she campaigned - a coward who couldn't face the media, couldn't handle the pressure. Didn't even have the character required to concede on election night. Went home to sulk. The opposite of presidential material."

Really and truly was there nobody with any substance the Democrats could have put forward. What on earth did they expect. The bar was so low.

Can we have Kamala back?

I want her instead :)

The commentator on GB news just said it feels like he's been asked if he wants ketchup or mayo with his word salad, having watched that speech.

It probably went over his head.

MichaelandKirk · 06/11/2024 22:01

Agree that Biden shouldn’t speak. He should have conceded a few years ago and was vain and the people around him didn’t lead him away.

I also think Biden didn’t think he was doing a bad job.

I don't watch any of them.

Whu · 06/11/2024 22:02

She made a dignified, gracious and hopeful speech and will ensure a peaceful transfer of power.
The differences between her and Trump could not be more noticeable.

HellsBalls · 06/11/2024 21:56

No, I mean like Harris, and Biden tomorrow.
I hope they have a bit of compassion and don’t let him speak.

I wish Trump could be shut up but we're stuck with listening to his utter crap for the next 4 years! Unless he morphs into (not far to go!) 'Sleepy Don'!!

Even just her saying that it's important to accept the result, as that's what a democracy is,

Really got to me,

As that's so different to what Trump said when he lost.

She's so much more advanced

Dinosaurs are so much more advanced!!

The number of voters that cared about his offences, LGBT issues,

Can you clarify what LGBT issues you mean?

Issues that concerned the LGBT community - that the right and culture war types painted as 'woke'.
Trump and his odious campaign recognised that these could be marginalised.

Sandygoldenbeaches · 06/11/2024 22:07

To be said like Rose talking to Jack at the end of Titanic

"Come back Kamala,
Come back!"

This is very repetitive.

People are entitled to their feelings when they see a really intelligent woman go, and an oaf in power.

I'll say more

Because it’s just so unnecessary to perpetuate the nastiness and bitterness. I used to be that person too and it’s totally counterproductive.

I agree. So many ill- informed posts like the OP’s just looking to goad and get a reaction. So depressingly predictable, and, as you say, counterproductive.

I'm absolutely gutted for her, but the truth is she'll have a much nicer life not being President.

PreFabBroadBean · 06/11/2024 22:12

We watched a few minutes of GB News last night (I think it was), and JRM was hosting(!). His two guests both absolutely despised Trump and wanted Kamala to win, and one was Kelvin Mackenzie!

HARRIS HAD to say what she said and NOT question the vote! 😂 NOT because she was more graceful or whatever, but because:

  1. this election, BOTH the POPULAR vote as WELL as the ELECTORAL vote went to Trump by a great WIDE margin THIS election. When Trump lost to Biden four years ago, it was by so slim a margin Trump and many Americans thought something was wrong because Biden tried for years to become President, and just wasn't a leader material TOTALLY political career - and in fact he had many bad moments in his political career; and 2) This campaign the Dems USED Trump's questioning Biden's win in 2020 against him, and the Jan 6 riot, to try to WHIP up enough votes, but it didn't work! The Dems do not realize, how the people who were at the riot were PUNISHED far beyond what all Americans felt they should have been punished. That punishment of flag waving AMERICANS coming DURING the time BLM rioters burned, terrorized, and pillaged for MONTHS and NO ONE punished those rioters. It was unjust punishment and that turned the stomachs of many Americans.

She’s cooked. She’s never coming back now. Will just fade into irrelevancy.

OppsUpsSide · 06/11/2024 22:14

I wanted her to come out earlier in recognition of her supporters and say something. The idea she needed hours to ‘compose’ herself just seems belittling to female politicians.

And she said she's fighting a long fight.

Trump lost in 2020 and he came back

Just for the record, many, many BLM rioters were punished, some very severely. Not that two wrongs make a right.

Perhaps, but let the poor woman have a cup of tea and a sit down before she decides her future.

ThatRareUmberJoker · 06/11/2024 22:19

She didn't stand a chance the Democrats should have planned Bidens retirement earlier. He was forgetting names and places. She's a woman and let's not forget how religious America is. There was no way she was going to win. She tried but she didn't stand a chance if they had a young man stand against Trump he would have been toast. The Democrats did it to themselves.
